alameda county sheriff's office dealt with the tragedy. the sheriff's office says the crash may have happened as the driver was making an illegal u-turn. and a passenger was killed in a crash in fremont this morning. the chp says a black sedan hit a green suv near fremont boulevard on northbound 880. the suv flipped several times. the passenger died. the driver suffered moderate injuries. the driver of the black sedan is okay. investigators are trying to figure out what caused this crash. a woman is facing felony charges in a hit-and-run that injured a san francisco police officer. marissa androvich is 18 years old. the officer was walking when hit yesterday afternoon. abc 7 news was there when the woman was arrested in the richmond district a short time later. the officer is now out of the hospital. he is the third officer to be hit by a car in the city in seven months. richmond police issued a $1 million arrest warrant for this man. he is 40-year-old vernon lamont dowel wanted in connection to

the murder of mark johnson jr. witnesses told police that johnson was shot and killed following an argument with another man on south 15th street and main avenue last thursday. it was richmond's third homicide of the week. police say dowel is dangerous. if anyone spots him call 911 right away. in san jose, crews are beginning to repair hundreds of miles of roads that have been neglected in recent years. how much progress they end up making will really depend on the amount of money they'll get from the state. abc 7 news reporter chris wynn is live in snorting san jose tonight with the story. chris. >> reporter: dan behind me is rogers road one of the roads here in san jose in desperate need of tlc. take a look. it's like a minefield out here. but crews will work on it next week. many around here say they've been waiting years for this to happen. in the capital of silicon valley it's easy to find a sfreet anything but smooth.

>> breaking news out of tlapt manufacture smoke froms a engine on a delta airlines jet forced the plane to land after taking from atlanta's hartsfield jackson international airport. airport officials say it happened a couple hours ago and the plane landed without incident. officials say fire crews doused the flame. as a precautionary measure. but it was able to be towed back to the terminal. no one was hurt and the incident is under investigation. the southwest airlines passenger killed during yesterday's explosives decompression on a flight from new york to dallas died from blunt force trauma to the head. neck and torso. that's from the autopsy results released an hour airing. a texas rancher and firefighter knelled held on to the 43-year-old mother of two jennifer reareden after a woind shattered by engine debris appear she was sucked out. ntsb officials say they had the seat belt on when the cabin pressure was lorts.

change sexual harassment policies as worklesses throughout california. supporters are calling for passage of an assembly bill that would priblt employers from forcing their employees into signing auberry tracing agreements as a condition of employment or promotion. ray engineer who went public over allegations of sexual harassment at uber is one of the supporters behind the legislation. >> if passed it will ensure that what happened to me and my coworkers will never happen again. because it will prohibit employers from forcing employees to sign away constitutional rights as a condition of employment. >> critics say the bill doesn't do enough to protect people who have already signed arbitration agreements. they also fear it could spark a wave of millions of lawsuits across the state. the american lung association annual state of the air report shows mixed results for the bay area. the report shows our region ranked 13th nationally for ozone pollution. notifily bad air in alameda, contra costa, santa clara and
