>> reporter: a freshman in san ramon, has been booked in to juvenile hall. investigators believe that he was making plans to hurt fellow students. those plans came to light after another student learned of the plot, and went to school administrators. administrators called the police. >> first reaction was, i'm so anticipate that that student said something. and then, when i stopped and really thought about it, i thought how scary. >> reporter: in a letter to parents the school principal said that the students had plans to harm his classmates in 2021. his senior year, when police investigated they found evidence that lent credibility to the claim. and the letter said that the distinct considers this offense to be serious be and will take appropriate discipline consequences asper california education code. >> it's a sad situation for everyone involved i'm sure. >> reporter: this mother was grateful to the student for
