tweeted the news, she feels safely delivered of a son, and the baby weighs 8 pounds and 7 ounces. kate arrived early this morning at the private st. mary's hospital, a relatively quick delivery, and prince george arrived after ten and a half hours of labor, and princess charlotte after just two and a half. the two other kids arrived in the hospital to visit their new baby brother today. an announcement has been posted outside of the palace today, and just like last time, prince william and kate come out and greet the crowds. the die hard royal baby fans and all the reporters, a few words as prince william hopped into the car, and they're off. now, a family of five. now, we may not have the name for several days, but they put odds of arthur 5:1, albert, 9:1, and jack at 9: 1. fans here said phillip michael is their fafavorite, a nod to t

boy's great grandfather. we sent out an alert about the birth of the royal baby at ow 58 this morning through the news app, and it's one way to stay on top of breaking news and live events, and it is free to download. zplmplg developing news in union city where police are investigating a homicide in the area of felspar court. a wife was arrested for the death of her husband. we go to amy hollyfield. >> reporter: good morning, jessica. yeah. police say they dealt with this couple before. here is a look at where the murder happened, inside this two-story home on feldspar court in union city. they got the call at 10:15 last night. inside, they found a 57-year-old man shot several times, and he was dead when they arrived. two adult women there, his wife, and another relative. police say they took the wife

into custody for his death. they have not said what the motive was, but say the couple has a history with police. >> in 2004, we responded to this address with some of the involved parties where the 57-year-old victim in this case was actually arrested for domestic violence crime. >> reporter: i asked if this was possibly self-defense. no comment from the police. they say the da and the courts will decide the charge. they want the public to know, though, that this was an isolated event. they do not think there is a public threat, that the weapon has been recovered. they are not releasing the names of those involved at this time. they want to wait until they make sure they let the couple's three adult children know what happened. reporting live in union city, abc 7 news. >> amy, thank you. if you saw smoke near 880 and 98th avenue in oaklands. this is why. sky7 was over the scene as a

homeless camp went up in flames after 6:00 this morning. we have not heard yet if anyone was hurt in the fire. the cause is under investigation right now. this is the latest in the string of fires involving homeless encampments in oakland. fire investigators in san francisco say it could be several weeks before they know the cause of a deadly fire over the weekend in the intersunset. relatives identified the victim to abc 7 as a woman named jessica castro. they say she was a survivor of domestic violence and spoke to other victims encouraging them to escape abusive relationships. her family visited the burnt out home. >> my grandmother is not here anymore. she's in a better place now. and we'll all miss her. >> the whole neighborhood loved her, liked her, always going around the neighborhood, you know, just talking to an outgoing person. >> the building on 8th avenue is

now red tagged and two neighbors homes were also significantly damaged. a san francisco teenager could leave the hospital today after nearly having a finger torn off when a pit bull attacked him, and it's a story only on abc 7 news. abc 7 news was at the hospital to talk with the 15-year-old who told us he and a friend were walking in bay view saturday night when a dog rushed up and began biting him. >> like, i tried to, like, punch it, and my finger got stuck in his mouth, and he teared my pinky, and my hand, almost took my pinky. >> he suffered wounds to his hands, arms, and legs, and needs a series of injections if they don't find the pit bull. happening today, testing has begun on a new stretch of track for bart. it's in effort to get the new extension up and running by the end of the year, but this new

phase of testing could cause headaches for folks living nearby. abc 7 news matt keller explains now and is live in san jose, matt? >> reporter: hi, jessica. we're going to have to wait to see how noisy it will be were neighbors, but vta saying testing is intensifying. what is life like when a massive bart station pops up in your backyard? >> prefer veggies or fruit? >> yeah, everything. >> reporter: it's normal to this family. >> since the beginning of the construction, everything's okay. we're okay here. no noise. not disturbing us here, so i think it's okay. >> reporter: they may notice a change today, they began a new testing segment of the bart extension. they say trains could run around the clock up to 20 hours total per day. >> running test trains up to 80 miles per hour, and that way we can start to really look at all, how the trains talk to the

system, and that's how the system talks to the trains. >> reporter: they say residents may notice noise and vibration, but different from the construction noise they heard since 2012. to help keep things quiet, they put up sound walls and put in triple pain windows on about 250 mome homes near the tracks. >> those in front, yeah. >> reporter: now it's quieter? >> yeah. it's quiet. yeah. we cannot hear the noise of the bart train. >> reporter: they hope to have the testing done by the beginning of the summer. bart will then have to do its own tests. the goal? to get the station up and running by the end of the year. matt keller, abc 7 news. >> thank you. southwest airlines is cancelling dozens ever flights across the country including some here in the bay area. san jose had two cancellations including a departure and arrival. southwest is pulling planes out of service to inspect fan blades. inspectors say a crack in one caused last week's engine

failure on a flight from new york to dallas. one passenger was killed. southwest expects the inspections to take about a month. developing news in nashville where right now we heard there was an arrest just shortly in nashville for the gunman who killed four people at a waffle house. police say the 29-year-old travis reinking instability and looked for him to morning believing he was armed. accused of killing four people yesterday morning before another customer wrestled his gun away. >> there are some 160 law enforcement personnel, more than 100 metro police officers assisted by the fbi, the atf, the davidson county sheriff's house and tennessee highway patrol conducting searches. >> police say reinking is suspected of killing a car and

now from abc 7, live breaking news. >> welcome back, we do have breaking news, tracking in san francisco, sky7 is live right now over the area of larkin and geary streets with reports of a gas leak there. they are rerouting the area because streets are closing off there. we are waiting to hear back some details on this gas leak, exactly how it happened, and if anyone has been evacuated. it appears some people may be affected. our colleague, my colleague, a reporter for abc 7 is reporting right now that there apparently has made some people sick, this gas leak, in the area of polk

and geary. this is a gas leak in the area of larkin and geary. officials are tending to the gas leak, trying to see exactly how this happened and crews there working to get this under control. i believe we have the tweet up here from my colleague saying breaking news, apparently the gas leak in a homeless shelter made a few people sick. you see people there getting emergency help. this is another live look from sky7 as that situation is ongoing right now. again, streets blocked off in the area, busses rerouted. as soon as we get additional updates when they come into our news room, we'll pass those along. happening tonight, james comey speaks at a sold out event in san francisco. he'll be at the theater to promote his book "a higher

loyalty," describing his service as fbi director from 2013-2017, and among other things, he ov oversaw the investigation of the controversy of hillary clinton's e-mail, and he was fired by president trump last year. now to an abc news exclusive, an adult film star says stormy daniels is telling the truth about a threat to stay silent about an alleged affair with donald trump. jessica drake says that she, dam daniels, and another woman went to president trump's hotel room in 2006. after the woman left, drake received a call asking her to go back to the room. when she said no, someone who worked for mr. trump called her back, then offered $10,000. daniels told her that she went back to the room on her own that night, but was not offered any money. drake says daniels then told her twice of the threat to stay silent. >> first time she told me about the threat was shortly after it happened. she relayed the experience to

warm as yesterday, 85 degrees today, where's the change? nope, still in the mid-80s today, but tomorrow, four degrees of cooling, and wednesday, that's the day when that onshore flow is more generous and robust, and the rest of the week, you notice we're cooling off below average, 60 degrees here in santa cruz, in the 80s yesterday, offshore flow, and today, looking at fog and cooler, mid-60s there. there's fog in the peninsula, haze here from mt. tam, and san francisco at 63, oakland in the 60s with 68 in mountain view. the coast, two mile visibility and 54 degrees. pretty shot of downtown, 69 in santa rosa, mid-70s in concord, and livermore at 73. okay, way too warm for april, i know, but three degrees warmer than yesterday, and yesterday was a warm day. 60s on

so we can all sleep easier tonight. we continue to follow breaking news in san francisco. you see sky7 over the area with reports of a gas leak at a homeless shelter. i want to go now to my colleague on scene, leann, what can you tell us? >> caller: we arrived here ten minutes ago, and i'm located at gary and polk. when we arrived, there were about four ambulances, and i counted, one, two, three, four, five ambulances taking care of people who are literally are throwing up, shortness of breath, very dizzy after what seems to be an apparent gas leak at this homeless shelter called next door. right here on the corner of

geary and polk. what happened? >> just working, a lot of construction, and everybody got to evacuate. >> reporter: did you feel dizzy? >> a little bit, trying to smoke my cigarette, and i felt better around the corner and smoked, i felt better. >> reporter: a lot of people ill? >> dizzy and leaving in the ambulance. >> and right now, those patients who have been ill have been taken or are being taken now, treated first, of course, and then taken to local hospitals. live again from geary and polk and more as the story develops. >> thank you. we are watching sky7 above the scene right now, and i can see all those emergency personnel. quickly, do you have any idea how many people were inside that homeless shelter at the time? >> reporter: i'm not sure, but what i can tell you is that workers were affected. some of them have already gone
