intense heat. we see flames still flaring up here and there this afternoon. the call came in at 1:00 a.m. a fire, a massive one, in what was going to be the renaissance ii apartment complex. much of the construction site in stick frame phase, that is all wood. >> even with no wind those things go up very, very quickly. when our crews arrived they found a large fire and went immediately to third alarm. >> a neighboring apartment complex was evacuated. 250 residents who escaped in pajamas. >> i heard some cops banging on doors. and you know saying this is not a drill. this is a drill. hit the pavement on the first floor you see the ash and fire. >> some took refuge as a downtown bar vinnies where she slept in booths. others retreated to a red cross people. >> well be taking groups of ten in at a time. >> by this afternoon people

on a point of origin in the next few days. in concord, leslie brinkley, abc 7 news. >> a home invasion suspect is now in police custody after a three hours long stand off inside a livermore hope. police descended on the home on coronado away and wagner driver using tear began drones and robots to cokes the man out. abc 7 news reporter alyssa harrington has been at the scene all afternoon. and he eventually surrendered a bit more than an hour ago. >> around 3:30 police took the suspect into custody. they believe he was hiding in the attic. >> video shows from sky 7 the suspect taken away from his home on coronado way in livermore. follows an hourslong stand off after the man robbed his neighbor at gust and ran back home to hide. police evacuated surrounding homes by transporting residents in armored vehicles. they were concerned because the suspect was armed with a
