now from abc 7, le breaking news. you've been watching abc news special coverage, breaking news from pennsylvania. bill cosby, the famed comedian and sitcom star found guilty on three counts of aggravated indecent assault. that verdict came down in 15 minutes, and you saw the special report here. this is video of cosby walking into the courtroom earlier this morning in pennsylvania. he was chanrged, and says the woman concemented, but the jury did not agree here and found him guilty, sentencing is next, and here is a live picture, looking outside the courtroom. we are told inside that courtroom, that bill cod by put his head down seen sinking lower and lower taking deep breaths after the verdicts came down.

police in other jurisdictions were notified ahead of time, but it was kept a secret. today, authorities are going room to room in his sacramento home to search for evidence, and that's where we find abc 7 news reporter with the latest. >> reporter: investigators still have the suspect's home blocked off as they continue to gather evidence. neighbors in the quiet community shocked to learn that the golden state killer, who terrorized california for decades, may have been living right here, the 72-year-old joseph james deangelo arrested tuesday evening, a former police officer in two departments, responsible for at least a dozen murders, 50 rapes, and more than 100 burglaries in california from 9 1976 to 1986. six days ago, a dna match began to connect the dots. details of the case is absolutely gruesome. the way the golden state killer

demolition is underway at the concord site where raging fires destroyed a apartment complex under construction. this is a vital step before hundreds of neighbors could move back into their homes. amy holly field is live at the scene, amy? >> reporter: they cleared debris, have not tackled walls of the building yet. they cleared out the alley where the debreer was blocking that, that alley, and look at the building. still, we see flair ups. there's flames from here and smoke, so, still, some smoldering spots that firefighters have not been able to get to. underneath this, that's what they are hoping to get to later today. they have decided to tear down this wall of the burned building and roll it into the construction site. engineers say it's too unstable to leave standing. they are planning to get it torn down today and get answers to the people who live in the apartment building next door. they have been evacuated since early tuesday when the fire

started because of fears that the wall could collapse. but this morning, they have been working at a cautious pace. they were to start at 8:00. instead, they started at 9:00. they have had meetings this morning about the process. they have started and stopped. they say that's because they are focused on safety. >> well, unlike fighting a fire where there's a great degree of urgency and life and property at risk, there's no life or property at risk here, so we're being deliberate and taking our time and making sure that all the different players here are coordinated, so that we don't put anyone at risk, nothing in there at this point is worth injuring anyone over. >> reporter: look at this flair up this morning. firefighters have not been able to get inside to put the fire completely out. they say it just has not been safe enough for them to do so. that's also why they are not closer to finding a cause. investigators remained on the outside. this was an apartment building

that was under construction here at concord boulevard. the building is a total loss. no one was here at the time when the fire started. firefighters say they hope to be able to let residents who live next door know when they can return home by this afternoon. reporting live in concord, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. >> amy, thank you. a police officer recovers this morning after he crashed into a telephone pole. take a look at this. the fire protection district provided us with these photos. this happened at 5:30 this morning on deer valley road near brentwood. we're told the officer has been flown to a local trauma center with moderate injuries. the prosecutors are moving ahead in the domestic violence case against 49ers' linebacker reuben foster despite his former girlfriend making the move of recanting what he claims of abuse were. abc 7 news reporter matt keller has the latest, matt? >> reporter: kristen, i spoke

with the district attorney's office this morning, and they say it's business as usual, moving forward with their next hearing for reuben foster on monday. that is scheduled to be a plea hearing, although, it's not guaranteed foster will enter a plea. this is in spite of the fact the alleged victim already recanted her story. they filed charges against the linebacker earlier this month for an alleged domestic violence incident on february 11, accused of punching her in the head several times and physically removing her from their home. the attorney represents 28-year-old melissa in a statement released yesterday saying she initially lied to police about an incident and suffered injuries as a result of a fight from another woman. they claim there's video documentation of the fight. she told foster if he broke up with her, she'd trash his career. they went back to the office to recant original statements and said realizes the attention the case is drawing from the media,

especially given scandals on domestic violence involving the football players and me too movement, but this case is not one of them and apologizes to everyone that may have been harmed in the case, especially mr. foster. the 49ers are waiting for the case to end before they come to a decision on foster. reporting live in san jose, abc 7 news. >> matt, thank you. hearing from a contract in san francisco, tetra tech was to get rid of radio active waste from ships involved in nuclear testing. they promised answers to environmentalists and city leaders who believe his company never did the job. as we've been reporting, the epa found tetra tech falsified nearly all soil tests for land slated for housing. >> we want to ensure the neighbors and residence of hunter's point what we did was proper following all navy and regulatory guidelines, protocomes, and work plans.

>> they announced they will pay for an independent soil test on the navy's terms and expects the new testing to take at least two months. a newly released poll shows the lieutenant governor is sloid mying support in the race for governor. his main democratic challenger is falling behind. the new poll shows he has a 30% support base from likely voters. here's the surprising part, two republicans are in second and third. businessman john cox has 18%, and assemblyman travis allen with 16%, whereas former l.a. mayor has fallen to 4th place with just 9% of support. there's a new plan to clean up city streets in san francisco, plus, president trump is reacting to the news that his pick to lead the va is stepping aside. facebook came under a lot of scruti scrutiny, but investors are very happy this morning with the

last hurdle this morning when the senate voted to confirm his appointment. pompeo is expected to be sworn in almost immediately with a long list of pressing issues to deal with including a decision on the iran nuclear deal and president trump's upcoming summit with north korean leader kim jung un. in a statement, dr. ronny jackson called the allegations that damage his nomination false and fabricated. jackson is accused of allegations including giving out drugs without a prescription and wrecking a government car while intoxicated. plump blasted the process this morning on fox news. >> he would have done a great job, tremendous heart, all false accusations. they are trying to destroy a man. >> nearly two dozen of jackson's current and former colleagues told the senate committee overseeing his confirmation he was, quote, abusive, volatile, and the worst officer i've ever

served with. officers or others, i should say, claim jackson lacked experience to lead the va, second largest agency in the u.s. government. head of the epa faced tough questions today. they were not aware the security chief moonlighted as an investigator for a tabloid news company with close ties to president trump. he says the consulting work by the epa's special agent is under review, and agency chief says he knew about big pay raises awarded to close aides after denying raises and said he didn't know who did it. well, the mayor of san francisco wants to spend big bucks to clean up city streets. the mayor unveiled a plan that calls for stepping nearly $13 million over two years. more than 3.5 million will be used for street cleaning equipment, and public works directors say they are getting hundreds of calls for service every day. >> we are double and triple

yesterday, a summer pattern, but this time, the marine layer is 2,000 feet so it's dipping into the inland neighborhoods. you'll notice the biggest drop in temperatures from yesterday to today. sprinkles possible. light rain in the north bay. heavy drizzle saturday morning, lighter drizzle sunday, and warm weather returns next week. area of low pressure, remember well down to the south yesterday, it's on the move, and because it's going north of us, that's why we are getting a deeper marine layer right now, but is infuses marine layer with the extra moisture needed for humidity tomorrow. today, we are back to average down in the south bay, 69, san jo jose, 72, pennsylvania la, upper 60s, and clouds keep us cool at the coast again, and a mid to upper 50s there, flirting with 60 downtown and south san francisco, and mid-50s in the north bay coast. cloud cover right there. as you head inland, yeah, temperatures about 10-15 degrees warmer. along the east bay, 63 in berkley, as you head inland, no 90s, no 80s, 60s, and 70s today,
