>> when i was 11 years old he killed two people across the street my house. >> joseph james deangelo accused of murdering a dozen people and raping 50 women. dubbed the golden stated killer and the east area rapist. he managed to evade capture 40 years until dna evidence provided the break detectives needed. deangelo is a former police officer worked in the towns of exist iter and in auburn 9:45 sierra foothills. niklas winnic was his police chief when deangelo worked there. he says i fired deangelo after an investigation proved he shop lifted a hammer and dog repellent from a store. >> i devote a career to law enforcement. and you hate to see a police officer accused of crimes of this nature. i mean, you know, serial rapist mass murderer it's terrible. >> he never left the area. it's so arrogant. you know, that he damaged so

an angry outburst, a racial slur and a facebook post going viral. community outrage is raining down on the emeryville popcorn shop owner who uttered the slur. tonight he speaks out in the first tv interview. diane lim with the story. >> reporter: when a group of kids entered the popcorn shop in emeryville sunday what fay eastman recalls happening is shocking. >> i saw the group of kids walk up and a group of ten. next thing i know he is saying come get out don't come back ns but said the full word. >> when she shared the outrage over what the store other than said the post was viral with almost 3,000 reactions and more than 6,500 shares. >> i stood there and tried to rashlz what that man and he didn't care. >> we convinced mark to talk to us on camera and give his side of the story. he says this is why he used
