sacramento county on two counts of murder. >> joseph deangelo is on suicide watch. investigators tracked down deangelo using a genealogy website that contained genetic information from a relative. yesterday police searched deangelo's citrus heights home for possible murder weapons as well as trinkets the accused killer may have stolen from victims. this morning we're hearing from deangelo's sister. she still lives in the area where she was a police officer for a few years. >> a reporter from our affiliate in fresno went to her house. she spoke briefly but declined to be shown on camera. >> it's kind of such a shock, you don't know how to react except to be -- it's too much. >> after college, deangelo took the police job in exiter. that's where investigators say he committed most of his crimes.

billion to non-profit organizations last year. this morning, former nbc news anchor tom brokaw is denying a sexual misconduct claim. former fox news anchor linda vester said he tried twice to forcibly kiss her. she says he made inappropriate overtures attempting to have an affair n. a statement the 78-year-old brokaw said he met with her twice at her request to give career advice and he made no romantic overtures. pg&e is facing a nearly $110 million fine. the public utilities commission says pg&e engaged in improper back channel communications. the puc previously find them $1.6 billion for the san bruno explosion. pg&e will not be able to pass the cost of paying those fines

on to customers. you're never more than seven minutes away from my accuweather forecast. temperatures a little milder this morning in san francisco from 52 in the sunset to about 55 in ocean beach, lake merced. not quite as chilly. let's take a look at what's going on. you can see it's pretty quiet out there. as far as the roads, clouds to even sunshine this afternoon. nothing too desperate on the wat water. east bay valleys, look at this. remember monday? 90s. tuesday, 80 z, wednesday 80 z. we continue that stairstep down to cooler weather. 55 this morning at 8:00. notice the increase in sunshine. our best chance of sprinkles today are going to be now through about noon and then the cloud cover will open up. that's why we'll hit 66 this afternoon. south bay we or looking at temperatures about 54 at 8:00. notice by the time we get to noon, we're at 63.

breezy tuesday. >> thank you, mike. b.a.r.t.'s board of directors have approved plans for a single bore tunnel. the mercury news reports workers wouldn't have to rip up a five-mile stretch of downtown streets during construction. that puts the extension on silicon valley on track to break ground in the next two years. the project is expected to be completed in 2026. a decision from a major state agency could prove costly for uber. the california public utilities commission says in addition to being a ride-on-demand service, uber should be classified as a charter party carrier; the same as limousines and tour buses. they're ordering uber to pay fees for the last three years for operating as a charter party carrier and register as one. at this point the ruling only applies to uber and not to other companies including lyft.

it's 4:53 on your fld. you're never more than seven minutes away from my accuweather forecast. pretty quiet morning. our break from spring continues as temperatures are from three to seven degrees cooler than average. stuck in the upper 50s to upper 60s. i'll have more on how much of the scattered showers you should expect in the next three minutes. heads up if you travel the golden gate bridge quite a bit. you're going to see some interesting things. it's ail part of an inspection. engineers are scheduled to begin inspections on monday morning. they'll be strapped into the ropes and pulleys. the district that runs the bridge says engineers will look every rivet and seam to see what works need to be done to keep the span strong. sidewalks will be built around

the towers to keep pedestrians safe. san francisco buy i don't tech mammoth biosciences is developing a home test to allow anyone to check for diseases, infections and cancers. it reviews dna technology to determine what's in a person's blood, saliva and urine. users would upload a photo of the test to an app and mammoth would provide the results and professional advice within an hour. they believe people can screen for early warning signs of cancer. it's still in development and will likely take a few years to hit the market. delta, united and alaska are the top three airlines for on time arrivals in february, this according to the department of transportation. delta, united and hawaiian had the lowest rate of cancellations. researchers say airlines service was better across the board for passengers. complaints were down almost 28%
