good morning. thanks for joining us on this sunday, april 29th. let's start with a quick look at the weather with our meteorologist. >> good morning, everyone. here's live doppler 7. you can see swirling we hiends behind me is an area of low pressure. we're still under the influence of this cold trough. you can see evidence of that. we have breezy to gusty winds but numbers are pretty mild. if you're heading to the giants game today it's going to be a little blustery. mid 50s now. it's 54 in livermore. we're looking at another cool afternoon. a mixture of clouds and sun. temperatures only in the mid-60s for the highs today around bay and inland with 50s on the

coast. we'll keep our cool weather regime going wu things change as we move along to the first week of may. i'll have the details the basic c c -- accuweather 7-day forecast. one person is dead after a car crash. it happened after 4:00 this morning near olympic boulevard. the crash forced all northbound lanes to close for leeriher nea hours. it's unclear what caused the accident. more developing news in the south bay. one man is dead after a crash on interstate 280 in san jose. it happened around 10:30 last night near the high 87 interchange. a chp officer found the victim face down in the roadway. he was taken to the hospital where he died. the crash closed all lanes of 280 for about two hours.

it's unclear,0 how the driver crashed. oh, my goodness. >> police are investigating a shooting at a bowling alley that's left man in critical condition. cell phone video shows a group of people still inside the classic bowling center on king drive. then you hear three gunshots. police stopped car not far from the bowling alley. it's undpleer tclear if the car involved. details about a suspect have not been released. in the east bay a police officer and another driver went to the hospital after a collision yesterday evening. one of their cars hit a third vehicle. police tell us the officer was rushing to a domestic violence calm and had his lights and sirens on. that's when a driver collided with him. both are expected to survive. right now it's unclear if the driver heard the police sirens before that crash.

delta east. nearby fishermen are credited with saving one of the two men. >> a fishing boat heard them in the water yelling and responded to assist. they were able to get one of the gentlemen out of water. the other they were unable to find. >> a search by the coast guard was called off at 3:00 yesterday afternoon. the men were not wearing their life vests. uc berkeley police are looking for an armed man who tried to rob a female student early yesterday morning. she fought to get herself to safety and narrowly ahead it into one of the dorms. abc 7 news reporter spoke with the woman who lives in the same building. >> she's okay. obviously she's shaken up. >> reporter: grace lives in the same dorm suite as the woman on the ground. you can see the man who police say just tried to rob her. he's looming outside the door with what appears to be a gun in

his hand. >> something said give me a gun. she said her first reaction was to take off. >> reporter: the woman was walking home around 4:30 on saturday morning. >> it seeme eed like a split sed that he would take advantage of her. >> reporter: the man caught up to the woman and put her in a loose choke hold. she wiggled free. she made it inside the safety. >> i have no idea. that's kind of scary. >> reporter: first year student says she receives notices about robberies and thefts several times a week. >> honestly, i'm kind of numb to it. it's good to hear about it. then you know what areas are on campus to stay away from. >> reporter: after hearing the frightening story first hand the women who live on the same floor as the women decided to order a wox of pepper spray.spray.spray.

one of them onto a bay bridge following a traffic stop. the officer, ease name is spears is recovering at home after friday night's dangerous confrontation. witnesses tell abc 7 the driver tried to speed away after the officer tried to stop her. he clung to her steering wheel while she hit other cars. you're about the hear the officers who rushed to help him and the officer himself. >> the motorcycle is here. he was drunk down to sterling. >> the suspect, 33-year-old nicole kristen is now in the san francisco county jail. she could face several felony charges.

that sounds warm wu it's a little cooler than average. the winds are making it a little gusty. you'll see maybe some white caps on the bay. partly cloudy, breezy. well below average. maybe 5 to 7 degrees below average and then much warmer by the end of week. by the middle of the week we'll be reaching where we should be. we have the clouds. i'm going stop it with this animation. this stops at 10:30. you'll notice the green here. there's still enough moisture we could ring out a shower or two. by the time you notice it, it will be over. looking at more clearing by the end of the day. if you're headed out in santa rosa, clouds and temperatures will be cool many the low 60s. 62 sonoma. 63 in vallejo. looking over to the east bay should see 71. concord, 66 and partly cloudy. same add walnut creek this afternoon. 65 san ramon with pittsburgh

coming in at 64. taking into san francisco, no spring warmth here with upper 50s from balboa park. south city about 60. on the peninsula those breezy winds will allow for low 60s. limited sun for you. look at half-moon bay. 59 degrees. it's going to be awfully cool out there and temperatures from palo alto in the mid-60s. notice everyone pretty much in a narrow rain. that's was a of the cloud cover and cooler air. in the south bay about 65. partly lly sunny as well as cupertino. san jose look at temperatures about 6 degrees below the average. we're looking at temperatures about the same tomorrow. the accuweather seven-day forecast shows very little change. we're getting to more sunshine

the second half of the day. on tuesday we're even sunnier. wednesday you'll notice a lot of sunshine and more warming around the bay. stays cool at the coast. thursday temperatures are climbing in our inland valleys. you'll notice the interesting shots we have around the bay with the cloud developments and friday should be the warmest day of the week with near 80 inland even the coast warming up the bay. >> there was a little precipitation this morning but for the most part we're done with the rain? >> pretty much. you could see a sprinkle still. >> all right. thank you. coming up, how you can celebrate the special connection between a pet and its owner and help a dog rescue in the east bay.
