bad allergy season could be this year and how you can feel better. and this just in, a massive fire consuming this high-rise building. flames pouring out of several floors. the latest on the rescue effort. a good tuesday morning, everyone. we begin with that high-rise fire disaster unfolding in brazil. video just coming in shows flames consuming the residential building in the city of sao paulo. >> yeah, it is happening right there in brazil's largest city. it's unclear how many people lived in the building or how many were at home at the time the fire broke out early this morning. but people on the top floor were heard screaming for help as the flames raced through the structure. it all of a sudden collapsed. >> local news reports say the building was occupied by homeless people. there's no word yet on what caused the fire. we're watching developments and will update you throughout the morning.

and now to a new development in the russia investigation. we're learning about a long list of questions that special counsel robert mueller wants to ask president trump. >> abc news has confirmed the authenticity of nearly 50 questions published by "the new york times" that cover everything from the firing of fbi director james comey to the infamous meeting with don junior at trump tower. abc's elizabeth hur joins us now with the details. good morning, elizabeth. >> reporter: good morning, kendis and diane and, yes, that list covers a variety of issues including questions about the president's tweet, his firings and his campaign contacts. in many cases mueller wants to know what the president knew and when. will he or won't he? we still don't know if president trump will sit down with special counsel robert mueller with negotiations continuing for that potential interview. but now we are learning there is a list of about four dozen questions that mueller wants to ask the president. overnight abc news confirming the authenticity of that list published by "the new york

times." the questions ranging from the president's interaction with former fbi director james comey and his reaction to the recusal of attorney general jeff sessions. other questions touching on possible election meddling. abc news has previously reported on a list of topics mueller is interested in probing, which also include the firing of former national security adviser michael flynn and now infamous 2016 trump tower campaign meeting with don junior, jared kushner, paul manafort and a russian lawyer. >> no collusion which i knew anyway. no coordination, no nothing. >> reporter: president trump has always maintained the russia investigation was, quote, a total witch-hunt. he recently praised the latest heavily redacted report from the republicans on the house intelligence committee. that report concluded there was no evidence of campaign collusion with the russians during the 2016 election, which the president called a vindication. >> we were honored. it was a great report. >> reporter: but democrats on the committee called the report

fundamentally flawed. that the republicans prematurely ended the investigation. as for the list of those questions reportedly from mueller, well, so far both the trump legal team and the special counsel's office declined to comment when contacted by abc news. kendis and diane. >> all right, elizabeth hur joining us here in studio with the latest, thank you. meanwhile, chief of staff john kelly is denying allegations that he repeatedly called president trump an idiot. >> the story first reported by nbc also says kelly claimed he's saving the country from disaster but kelly dismissed the report as total bs. the president also firing back on twitter saying the fake news is going crazy making up false stories and using only unnamed sources who don't exist. now, despite the denials, reports have surfaced that kelly is now being considered as a potential candidate to head the v.a. we're following several developments in the showdown with that group of migrants waiting to seek asylum in the united states.

they've been waiting at the mexican border crossing near san diego for more than 30 hours. but the logjam finally appears to be over, and some of their cases are now being considered. this morning the first migrants in a caravan from central america are now being processed for asylum. they're part of a group that traveled 2,000 miles to seek safety in the united states. adolfo flores, a reporter with buzzfeed, was with the caravan for the journey. >> i was on the train with a bunch of many families and it was cold, it was really hot, they did not wwant to be there but they knew this was better than what they were leaving so they were doing it. >> reporter: 150 migrants reached the tijuana/san diego border on sunday, an official entry point where asylum seekers can plead their case. when they arrived border officials said the port was at capacity, but overnight a small group of women and children were the first to be selected for processing. [ speaking a foreign language ] mari martinez left her country five years ago and said her family of nine including a

daughter in a wheelchair have been pursued by the ms-13 gang. [ speaking a foreign language ] if she goes back to el salvador, she says she'll be killed. some of the people camping out have even been climbing to the top of the border barrier. the justice department late monday announced charges against 11 people for illegal entry into the u.s. president trump has kept a watchful eye on the caravan tweeting that the migrants are openly defying the border. >> are you watching that mess that's going on right now with the caravan coming up? are you watching this? and our laws are so weak, they're so pathetic given to us by democrats. >> asylum is a legal pathway for someone, but if we completely cut off their ability to seek it, then we are affirmatively blocking people from a legal way of remaining in the united states. >> now, asylum seekers who get into the u.s. have a long journey ahead of them. it often takes years and they'll

have to prove they'll be persecuted if they are sent home. most are denied asylum. the trump administration is accusing iran of lying about its nuclear program. secretary of state mike pompeo says new information shows the 2015 iran nuclear deal was built on lies. that data was dramatically presented by the israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu during a prime time news conference when he unveiled several files and images. now, the secrets that he described predate the nuclear agreement. but netanyahu said they should be considered as president trump decides this month whether to renew the deal. >> i'm sure he'll do the right thing, the right thing for the united states, the right thing for israel and the right thing for the peace of the world. >> iran called netanyahu's presentation childish and ridiculous and claimed the evidence was fabricated. now, president trump has until may 12th to decide whether to renew the nuclear deal with iran. now, iran has threatened to

restart its nuclear program within days if the deal is not renewed. back here in this country time now for us to take a look at your weather for this tuesday morning. a severe dust storm is blamed for causing two massive pileups on interstate 80 in nebraska. more than 30 vehicles involved, one person was killed. and today more severe weather is likely across parts of nebraska, kansas, iowa, even missouri with damaging winds and likely large hail possible. now, looking at today's high temperatures kansas city should be around 80, the same as detroit and atlanta. washington, chicago and miami could top the 80s as well. what annoys you most about air travel these days? coming up, we'll give you the results of a new survey. but first, new allegations against scott pruitt. why a whistle-blower says the

looks. an epa whistle-blower has accused embattled administrator scott pruitt of lying to congress. pruitt's former deputy chief of staff he says he lost his job for raising concerns about lavish spending including a $43,000 private phone booth and first class tickets to morocco. kevin chmielewski says he was told that pruitt wanted him fired or moved to an office where he wouldn't have to see him again. >> when pruitt testified to congress recently, he said he was not aware of any employees being pushed out for raising red flags. was he just straight out lying? >> bold-faced lying. >> chmielewski said his complaints to the white house were ignored. more than 170 members of congress including several republicans have called on pruitt to resign, but he still has the support of the president. well, facebook is investigating a claim that one of its employees used their work access to stalk women online. the accusation comes from a new york-based cybersecurity firm.

harvey weinstein is facing a new legal challenge this morning. >> he's now being sued by ashley judd who claims weinstein damaged her career after she rejected his advances. judd spoke exclusively with abc's amy robach. >> reporter: actress ashley judd sitting down for her first tv interview after filing a new lawsuit against harvey weinstein. >> so, what i want is for mr. weinstein to be held accountable for his illegal account. >> reporter: one of his most vocal accusers suing the disgraced movie mogul claiming he hurt her career for decades. retaliating against her for rejecting his sexual demands in an l.a. hotel room back in 1997 where she says she narrowly avoided sexual assault. >> it has now been found. >> reporter: judd says a year later she was in talks with director peter jackson to play a role in the blockbuster trilogy "the lord of the rings." weinstein allegedly telling filmmakers she was a nightmare

tells abc news they are now looking at many other cold caless in california including the murders of 24-year-old rhonda wicht and her young son back in 1978. her ex-boyfriend craig coley served 38 years for those murders until dna cleared him. he now hopes dna can determine who the real killer was. >> it may be more than one person. i don't know but as long as they get to the truth and find out who did it, and it's resolved and justice is done when it's served, it's served as long as it's done properly. >> investigators plan to check dna found at that murder scene in 1978 and compare it with that of suspected golden state killer joseph deangelo. to medical news now, and there's growing concern about a chemical in a weed killer used by farmers showing up in some popular foods. according to the fda, documents obtained by "the guardian" newspaper, trace amounts of an ingredient in the weed killer
