bridge. a crash in fast lane right now. looks like they are working to clear that. i'm seeing one of those vehicles involved that did clear off to the side. looks like that truck is slowly exiting as well. a little concerned. looks like one person out walking in front of that vehicle. we don't have chp yet running a traffic break. i will keep an eyoon that. but minor delays as you approach that scene from toll plaza area. hate to see those people running out in traffic. quick check of traffic tracy stretch 580 past 205 crash on the shoulder. you are very heavy. we'll take a look at some of those backups coming up in a few minutes. >> thanks, alexis. looking like voters will have final say in the fight to roll back california's gas tax. >> tax opponents say they have enough signatures on initiative putting the issue on our november pallet. abc news re live in concord. hi, amy. >> reporter: hi we're at a gas station talking to drivers who have long commutes. we are finding some sort for this gas tax.

here is a look at the opponents. a group of activists in southern california who say they have enough signatures against the gas tax to get it onto the november ballot. legislators passed this tax without voter input. it went spoke effect in november. it adds $0.12 to every gallon of gas you buy. lawmakers say it will pay for transportation projects around the state. one driver we met said it could be more expensive to not pay this tax. >> roads, bridges need to be constantly fixed. there's a bunch of things happening on the road. there's potholes and things i feel need to be taken care of. it's either that or you blow an axle or something on your car on the way to work. that's what i think. >> you would vote for it. >> if i had to, yeah, i would vote for it. $0.12 a gallon, that's not much. >> add on top of this tax gas prices on the rise. some analysts predict it could be the most expensive summer for

driving in four years. that could help in the fight against this tax. expect a fight from lawmakers and transportation officials who say the money from the tax is already dedicated to thousands of projects across the state. reporting live in concord amy hollyfield abc 7 news. >> thank you, amy. we have new details on a crash involving chp cruiser in fairfield. the highway patrol said three people inside a white mitsubishi mirage have major injuries after it rear-ended chp vehicle on the shoulder of i-80 yesterday afternoon. the officer inside the car suffered minor injuries. they cut the roof off the mirage. >> take a look. apparently that pet bunny was also in the mitsubishi. officers found it curled under the seat. they say it's okay, now being returned to the owner. >> contra costa board of supervisors will hear an update on california's toxic soil from st. francis dumped into a landfill in pittsburgh.

a source close to abc news. she's speaking with prosecutors. uber says it is committed to do more to strengthen passenger safety following sexual assault claims against its driver. 103 accused of sexual assault or abuse in the last four years. each of the drivers arrested or wanted by police or named in civil lawsuits. in a statement uber said, quote, these stories are horrific and our hearts do out to the victims. we worked with cnn to understand their findings and determined that uber did 2.4 billion trips in the u.s. in that same period. >> this morning we're learning what special counsel robert murls wants to ask president trump. >> "new york times" obtained the list with four dispen questions ranging from james koemds to the president's tweets. they developed them after meeting with special investigator's office. >> i met and they went through subject after subject after subject they wanted to ask about. what the president's lawyers did

little more gummed up maybe. >> yes. in fact quite a mess in walnut creek. take a look at traffic camera, a sig alert due to bags of cement flying off a truck. four or five of them, a lot of cars hit that. they have that contained to the far right lane now. it is blocking one of the center lanes. now waiting for caltrans to come out with a street sweeper, though. there you go, flashing lights, southbound 680 at treat boulevard, some very heavy traffic behind that. take a look at that on traffic maps as well and talk about alternates. starting to spill over to 242, no surprise. that is always what happens to the stretch if we have anything blocking one lane. that's not a good area. taylor boulevard to pleasanton hill road if you want to use that for an alternate that will probably save you five or six minutes. not a lot of great options but i am keeping a close eye on that. hopefully get that totally cleared. richmond-san rafael bridge

good morning, amy. >> hi, good morning. yes, we've heard some drivers say we need to pay for road improvements. ots say enough is enough. opponents say and there are many of them, opponents in southern california who have organized an initiative to get this put on the ballot. they have turned over signatures. they say they have enough from people who want voters to have a say on this gas tax. legislators passed it. it went into effect in november. it adds $0.12 to every gallon of gas you buy. here is a sample of what drivers passing through concord have to say this morning. >> new bridges and new records. got to do what we've got to do. potholes and everything else. pretty messed up. >> you think you'd vote for it. >> probably. >> i'm definitely against it. i'm not trying to pay no high gas prices. already high enough. i commute to the city.

i'm definitely not trying to get the gas prices bumped up. >> gas prices on the rise. some analysts agree this could be the most expensive summer for driving in four years. that could help in the fight against the tax. expect take fight from lawmakers and transportation officials who say the money from this tax is already dedicated to thousands of projects across the state. reporting live in concord amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. >> thank you, amy. >> newly released call logs reveal surprising numbers about the facebook campus in menlo park and 911 calls. in just the last 14 months facebook employees have called 911 about once every two days. max churny from marketwatch obtained these call logs. one of the more serious calls involved a security officer sprayed in the face with mace. business insider crunched
