i'm kristen sze. this happened back in july and abc 7 news reporter david louie has the details from the airport. david? >> reporter: well abc kristen and dan, this is frightening video the national transportation safety board released today. this video provides a different perspective and frightening one how lucky hundreds of passengers were while waiting for air canada flight 759 to land to they could take off. a united 787 was within feets of being crushed by a 72-ton aircraft. this new video was shot by an airport surveillance camera and shows the flight 759 missing one of four commercial jets setting on a taxiway by feet. it's a chilling look at how close hundreds of passenger waiting for takeoff could have been victims. flight 759 has been cleared by the tower to land on runway 28 right. insanity on on a tractliry to

land on the taxi way. you can see the landing lights illuminated the fuselage of a 787 jet liner. air canada captain told ntsb investigators, quote as they approached the runway something still felt odd. and he elected to go around. first officers matthew dammier said the captain asked if he could confirm the runway was clear and expected to see the runway. when he looked up he couldn't understand what he was looking at. the first officer kinned quote, they thought they were at 400 feet when they initiated the go around. he was shocked how low they were. besides the video the ntsb released 3 documents it compiled as part of the fact finding process. because the investigation is still under way, there has been no finding of human error or if an electronic safety system might be at fault. as a result officials say sfrid substantial indicated they would have no comment about the video or the documents released. sfo officials say just last week

>> there was a significant storm front that came through which prevented us from safely doing the work. >> this after first responders rescued four people from the boat at linda mar beach. one of the cocaptains says they were sailing for 11 hours when they ran out of fuel on the way to san diego. >> there are positive things about the boast. it's steel hulled which made it not break up in the surf. >> watson says surf conditions with the biggest challenge. >> the main concern is work with the pacifica police department and ensure that public safety remains the highest priority. >> in pacific an melanie woodrow abc 7 news. san francisco police chief bill scott is reportedly a candidate for the vacant chief's job at the los angeles police department. the los angeles times is reporting scott is scheduled to interview for the job. that's according to an an anonymous source. scott became the san francisco chief in early 2017 after a 27-year career with the lapd, the time's report says he is one of five candidates to replace charlie beck retiring in june.

the san francisco p. d. released a statement neither confirming more defying the report. saying the chief scott is focused on this city and its police department. >> a bereave court appearance today by the suspect in the golden state killer case. the lawyer for 72-year-old joseph deangelo asked a judge to stop prosecutors from taking any additional dpa from her client. this is video from his arraignment last week. the judge didn't rule out -- rule on that motion. police irrelevance arrested deangelo a week ago today. investigators say they used dna to identify him as the killer responsible for at least a dozen murders and 50 rapes from 1976 to '86. deangelo is expected back in court tomorrow. now 2020 devotes this week's episode to the golden state killer, the history of the suspect, joseph james deangelo and why it took so long to make an arrest in the case. so be sure to catch 2020 friday night at 10:00 p.m. here on abc

7 followed by abc 7 news at 11:00. sheriff's deputies need help tonight to find two robbers who tied up a victim in sonoma county while stealing marijuana. you can see on this map where the robbery took place. on primrose court. that's in an uncorporated part of santa rosa. the victim's told investigators that one robber came in through the front door. another entered through the back. at least one of them pulled a handgun. deputies didn't say how much marijuana was stolen. or if pot was being grown at the home. >> since the prop 64 was passed marijuana is abundant here in sonoma. and this is certainly adds to the rash of home invasion robberies. and it is concerning for the neighbors that aren't involved in the marijuana industry. >> men were tall and thin. appeared to be in the 30s. nobody was hurt. >> a $1 million settlement in a low-income housing zput for 14 tenants and the city of oakland to talk about tonight. the owner of a single room occupancy bblding in oakland's

chinatown agreed to restore unusable kitchen and bathroom facilities. the tenants filed a lawsuit in 2016 claiming the new landlord created substandard living conditions to force them to move out so the building could be renovated and rented to wealthier cliental. los angeles is the latest city to regulate short term housing rental companies like san francisco based air b. the san francisco approved fliens limiting landlord attention renting out rooms or homes to 120 days per year. the ordinance goes to the city attorney's office and planning existing for further analysis before returning to the council for a final vote. san francisco limits short-term rentals to niebt days. >> a ground breaking ceremony in oakland today for a controversial 24-story building next to the mccarting you are b.a.r.t. station. the mcarthur village pb includes 13,000 feet of retail space.

"7 on your side" michael finney will tell us more. >> we fought hard por for this. consumer advocates went for it every new car sold in the united states starting today is required to have a back up camera. the department of transportation says more than 200 people are killed and 12,000 injured every year when drivers back up vehicles and don't see their new victims. back up cameras have been found to reduce those types of accidents by 17%. consumer advocate worked hard for the karm systems then in 2014 the department of transportations announced the regulation and gave manufacturers until now to add that equipment. ford is expanding a safety recall of the transit vans. it affects model years from 2015

now as that same system, the same low pressure system is spinning, the moisture is wrapping around the back side of it. here is a setup, low pressure over the southwest, high pressure over the pacific, wind floing from the high to low creating the school conditions along the coastline right now. as you notice the ocean temperatures in the low to mid-50s when it's 53 degrees in half moon bay and that wind is blowing off of the water there it's feeling chilly at the coast. besides that we have fog. wind is not terribly strong now but we have the delta breeze from the southwest at fairfield. 18 miles an hour and that wind is just below blowing that pollen around. if you are suffering you are not alone. over the next couple of days here a look at pollen forecast. oak ash and sycamore will be the primary. running moderate to high. the news weather comes with a price. obviously springtime we get the windy conditions and that wind is not making things any better for many of us. fog will be pushing inland overnight tonight. mild sunny days expected through
