in chicago has been shot and is critically injured. right now there is still a search under way for a suspect. our abc sister station in chicago reports the agent was shot in the head during an undercover federal investigation. it happened on the south side of chicago. atf was working with chalk poli chicago police as well. i can tell you there are still police out there, still a major investigation under way as they look for a suspect or suspects. no other agents or officers were hurt. we do hope to get some better information later this morning. the federal government is taking the lead in this investigation. back to you. >> jessica, thank you. it is now 4:30. if you're just joining us, let's get you up to date on weather and traffic. we start with mike. >> we'll start with the weather window from the roof camera showing mostly cloudy sky, but the clouds not nearly as thick. they're not going to be around quite as long as they were

yesterday. that means warmer temperatures. we're starting off temperatures in the mid 40s to low 50s at 7:00. as we head up to noon, 50s at the coast, mid 60s around the bay. on their way to 80 inland, 72 around the bay. temperatures still a spread under a mostly sunny sky. let's see what else alexis is watching this morning for us? >> we are friday light so far this morning, mike. here is a prime example of that. the ridge mond side of the richmond-san rafael bridge. one vehicle going by, totally empty on westbound 580. we're enjoying it while it lasts. so far the drive times are cooperating, westbound 580 tracy to castro valley, 38 minutes. northbound 101, 85 to san jose airport, 12 minutes. and highway 1 to san francisco looking green at ten minutes. i'm watching things in

hawaii closely this morning. right now 1500 people have been evacuated on the hawaiian island of oahu. i want to show you new video. look at this incredible video. it's lava bubbling up from a crack in the street. the magna is still spreading all across the island. again, coming through kraeps. this is the side of a mountain. the national guard has been activated and fema is also mobilizing resources right now. so far no injuries have been reported, but i will keep tracking things throughout the morning for yfrom the live desk. a magnitude 5 quake shook the big island. all eyes are on the island. in the north bay 42 pigs are as flames came incredibly close.

flames were spotted in the eves. crews did manage to put out the flames in 11 minutes. only hey, sawdust and shelving inside the buarn were burned. they don't know the cause but said there were heat lamps inside the barn to keep the animals warm. a boat ran aground last weekend at linda mar beach. the four-person crew is stuck living in a hotel room and on donations. they say sea conditions just overwhelmed them. >> it wasn't really a matter of running aground so much as we were pushed aground. once the rip tides cause ut in the bay, they pushed us faster and faster. >> the boat is barely visible in the water and moving with the tides. sky 7 captured incredible video of that boat salvage attempt.

you can watch more than 20 minutes of that footage on abc7news.com. this morning twitter is advising you to change your password after the bug left potentially all of twitter's 330 million users' passwords vulnerable. abc's katie marzullo has the story. >> reporter: the process is called hashing. as san jose state cyber security expert explains, it should prevent anyone from ever knowing your twitter password. >> what happened is this one is not working. >> reporter: the bug allowed unencrypted passwords to be stored in an internal database, meaning twitter employees had access to them, and if anyone hacked in, they could potentially access the passwords. >> the software fixed by human, we'll safe this one every single day. >> in a blog post, we have fixed the bug and shows no

in here. one of those is friday light traffic. >> we're pretty light. a couple issues, one is a crash on westbound highway 4 in the discovery bay area. we have both lanes blocked. chp on the way to the scene right now. sounds like we've got a couple vehicles involved including a semi. it's right at discovery bay boulevard. the folks behind it are saying it's a standstill traffic jam. definitely heavy volumes in the area. we don't have details yet. as soon as chp arrives on the scene, we should have a lot more information. so far mass transit off to a great start. ace one out on time. 27 b.a.r.t. trains in service and normal service, no delays for capital corridor. the north bay wildfires drove pg&e profits down. now it's going all out to force customers to pick up the tab of future disasters.

if you're traveling around the state today, expect a whole lot of sunshine and warmer temperatures. mid 80s to 90s through the central valley. same thing to los angeles, nearly 100 in palm springs. warm in san diego, 77 today. a sunny 64 in monterey. 78 with sunshine in yosemite. cloudy 68 in tahoe. let's take a look at the seven-day forecast i put together for you. you can see temperatures well above the average high of 60. our coolest day will be next week in the mid 60s. a whole lot of nothing going on. reggie? >> pg&e making less money and it's blaming the north bai wildfires. in an earnings report yesterday, the company said its earnings were down because of costs related to the fires. the company still made $442 million in the last quarter. pg&e is facing several lawsuits which blames the company's equipment for causing the fires. palo alto police are asking for your help identifying a

suspect who stole a safe from a house. this happened on wednesday afternoon on west crescent drive when the homeowner was out running errands. the victim told police the man entered her home through an unlocked sliding door. she said the man took a medium sized safe that contained jewelry and a suitcase. one restaurant owner has gone behind her civic duty, helping to raise $1 million for schools in san francisco and san jose. they have done it one taco at a time. abc 7 news reporter leah melendez explains how. >> reporter: who would have thought selling tacos could help feed the minds of hundreds of students. taco licious restaurants in san francisco, palo alto, the parents of public school kids, they came up with a formula forgiving. >> from september to may, we give 15% of a month's worth of

proceeds to that school. >> the tacolicious restaurant in the mission district of san francisco supports nine schools in that specific community. every month one of the nine schools gets the funds. this month they will cut a check to mission high school. >> if we can raise 15% for the whole month's time, that school will get a check from $3,000 to $8,000, depending on -- if it's cinco de mayo, you'll get a lot of money. >> they have restaurants in the marina and north bay districts. that's 18 more schools that get funded. one of the schools that has benefited from one of the tacolicious restaurants is garfield elementary. let's go inside to see what they have received. garfield used its money to buy classroom ipads and chrome books for its third to fifth graders. >> it's 2018. a lot of technology is really benefiting the teaching and learning in our classrooms.
