the crash. a bit of a delay, the backup not huge yet. bay bridge toll plaza looking good. the owners of the san jose sharks are suing b.a.r.t. >> they're trying to delay its extension into downtown san jose and santa clara. matt keller is tracking the story at the millbrae station. matt? >> reporter: good morning, reggie and natasha. the sharks are out of town taking on golden knights in game five in las vegas. but we found out that the sharks have a couple other opponents, vta and b.a.r.t. they're taking on those opponents inside a courtroom. that battle is going to take place there. b.a.r.t. just recently announced the approval of the extension into downtown san jose. now the owners of the san jose sharks are suing b.a.r.t. and the santa clara valley transportation authority, alleging they haven't planned properly for parking.

the mercury news says the owners support b.a.r.t. coming to san jose but want more details on construction impacts and parking issues. vta declined comment to the mercury news saying they hadn't had time yet to review the lawsuit. live in millbrae, matt keller, abc 7 news. cheating on soil samples during the cleanup of the hunters point naval shipyard. >> the two employed by tetra tech to take samples and send them to a lab to see if they were radioactive. instead of doing that, they substituted clean dirt taken from other areas at the naval base. tetra tech says it will pursue all legal action to undo the harm. north bay residents are still dealing with the aftermath of the devastating fires. now another problem. abc 7 news reporter lisa lisa la

hasn't made a decision about charging those officers. yesterday his family delivered a letter to george gas cone asking for an explanation. they say when they met with him in february, he said he would make a decision within six to eight weeks. the families they have not heard back. milpitas police arrested a dance instructor in connection with sexual assault of five girls. raymond chen is a creative dance teacher. a 16-year-old girl told police chan sexually assaulted her at the center when she was 10. an investigation turned up four more victims according to police. a student has minor injuries after a suspected drunk driver hit a gilroy school bus yesterday afternoon. most of the damage is to the front of the bus. the gilroy unified school district says all 46 students on board are fine. the driver who struck the bus was arrest ed.

they discovered a man and woman who had been shot. that helped get the victims to a waiting ambulance. one woman described the relationship between those involved. >> i didn't see anything and i heard the shots. i know they shot our landlord and killed his daughter. i don't know if he's okay yet. she was the sweetest girl, like in her 20s. >> reporter: look at this dramatic moment captured from sky 7, the s.w.a.t. team storming into the apartment where the shooter barricaded himself. they found that he had died of a gunshot wound. residents describe him as a man in his 80s. the woman who was shot was also killed and the man who was shot is in intensive care. live in mill valley, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. back here at the live desk, want to tell you quickly something else i'm really

keeping my eye on this morning, the situation in hawaii. right now more than 1,800 people evacuated on the big island following the eruption of the kilauea volcano. that number new from last hour. it was higher than we first reported. i want to show you this. it's incredible video that we have. lava bubbling up from a crack in the street, the magna spreading all across the island. the national guard has been activated. fema also is mobilizing resources right now. so far no injuries reported. the eruption happened six hours after a magnitude five quake shook the island. a sunken sailboat in pacifica is a hazard to surfers. the owners say they don't have the money to remove it. the boat ran aground last weekend at linda mar beach. the four-person crew is now stuck. they're in a hotel room living

on donations. they say sea conditions just overwhelmed them. >> it wasn't really a matter of running aground so much as we were pushed aground. once the rip tides caught us in the bay, they pushed us faster and faster. >> the boat is barely visible in the water and moving with the tides. it could cost tens of thousands to remove the wreckage. sky 7 captured incredible video of the boat salvage attempt. you can watch it on abc7news.com. in the north bay, 42 pigs are safe after flames came dangerously close to them inside a high school barn. abc 7 news was at santa rosa high school as school staff checked on the barn. the press democrat reports that flames were spotted in the eves. crews put out the flames in about 11 minutes. hey, sawdust and shelving inside the barn were burned. no structural damage or pigs hurt. officials don't know the cause but say there were heat lamps inside the barn to keep the

cool, mostly cloudy once again. seasonal to above average highs all the way through the extended even if they're not quite as warm as today. you can see the low clouds, the grayer of the clouds, kind of broken this morning. the high clouds, the whiter clouds are also broken. we expect a quick transition to a mostly sunny afternoon. for san francisco, that means 64 downtown. that's one of the warm spots, south san francisco 66. we've got the marina 62. balboa park about 60. daly city about 59. let's head over to the east bay where we have temperatures in the low to mid 70s except for berkeley and oakland at about 68 degrees. let's take a look at the peninsula where we have mainly mid to upper 70s. you go on the coast side, 61 at half moon bay. cooler on the bay side around san mateo at 70. north bay, mid to upper 70s here with 75 in santa rosa. cooler in sausalito as you would expect. 65. down in the south bay, mid 70s to upper 70s. then you look at morgan hill and gilroy, low to mid 80s there. as far as the inland areas of

the east bay go, 80 for a lot of us. temperatures tonight, about the same as this morning, upper 40s to mid 50s. my accuweather forecast, temperature spikes today, two days of cooling, temperature spikes monday, two days of cooling, temperatures spike again thursday. get ready for a seesaw. heading back to discovery bay, all lanes are back open following a rollover crash on westbound highway 4 around discovery bay boulevard. not thinning out as quickly as i hoped. still several miles of backup. however, the drive time and delay slowly coming down. at worst about a 35-minute delay. now down to about 20 minutes. if you can delay your trip longer, i think that will improve greatly. we have reports of a motorcycle down blocking the left lane of the ramp. it's not impacting the main lanes of 205. westbound 580 into dublin just 42 minutes.
