across his backyard toward his home. >> uber's big move today to bring flying taxis to big cities. and putting the frank food forward. the world leader who served another world leader dessert inside a shoe. the diplomatic disaster. a good tuesday morning. we begin with a stunning fall from grace for a rising political star and self-proclaimed champion of women. >> new york's attorney general has resigned after four women accused him of choking and hitting them and even threatening their lives. overnight the sudden resignation of new york's highest law enforcement officer just three hours after "the new yorker" magazine released an article in which four women allege brutal violence at the hands of attorney general eric schneiderman. schneiderman made national headlines recently when he

sued harvey weinstein after the hollywood producer was was accused of sexually assaulting women. >> there has got to be a message that one no is too big. >> reporter: one is michelle manning barish and says one month into their relationship after both had been drinking all of a sudden he just slapped me open-handed and with great force across the face landing the blow directly on my ear. my ear was ringing. he then used his body weight to hold me down and he began to choke me. barish quotes schneiderman as saying, if you ever left me, i'd kill you. the other woman identified is tanya selvaratnam who says she had a year-long relationship with the attorney general. she's quoted as saying, we could rarely have sex without him beating me. sometimes he'd tell me to call him master and slap me until i do. two other women did not want to be named in the article but reportedly told similar stories of abuse. the magazine says one of the unnamed women provided photos of

her injuries. overnight schneiderman released a statement saying in the last several hours serious allegations which i strongly contest have been made against me. i therefore resign my office effective at the close of business may 8th, 2018. and in a statement before his resignation, schneiderman admitted that he engaged in role playing in the privacy of intimate relationships, but he denied any assault. the manhattan district attorney has already launched an investigation. >> well, it's decision day for president trump. he is set to announce whether the u.s. will withdraw from the iran nuclear deal. it could be the biggest foreign policy decision of his presidency, and it could also impact everything from stocks to gas prices. abc's elizabeth hur takes a look at what's at stake. elizabeth. >> reporter: well, diane, president trump has long criticized this deal calling it ridiculous and insane and this morning we're getting new reaction from the iranian president who warns, quote, the

country could face some problems should the u.s. end the agreement. days ahead of the self-imposed may 12th deadline -- >> it's a horrible agreement for the united states. >> reporter: -- and after repeatedly slamming the iran nuclear deal -- >> they're setting off missiles which they say are for television purposes. i don't think so. >> reporter: -- president trump says he has made up his mind and will be announcing his decision this afternoon. >> president trump wants to walk out of the deal, not because he's not satisfied with its substance but because it's an obama legacy. >> reporter: the 2015 agreement struck between iran and six nations including the u.s., germany and france was brokered by president obama. the deal froze iran's nuclear program in exchange for an end to economic sanctions on tehran. >> iran lied big time. >> reporter: but just last week israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu accused iran of lying about its nuclear weapons program urging president trump to, quote, do the right thing. >> the right thing for the united states, the right thing for israel. >> reporter: this as the leaders

of france and germany traveled to the white house in recent weeks to lobby the president to stay in the agreement, even still one of the deal's former negotiators, well, he believes president trump will pull out of the deal. >> because he wants to -- he wants to show that he can be tougher and he can negotiate a different deal. >> reporter: well, wall street will be closely watching the announcement this afternoon after president trump said his decision was imminent yesterday after president trump said his decision was imminent yesterday, stocks lost some of their gains. also experts say if the president pulls out of this deal, gas prices could rise 15 to 25 cents a gallon. diane. >> and abc will have live coverage of that decision, elizabeth hur, thank you. well, today is also primary day with elections in four states. one of them is west virginia where former coal executive don blankenship is the highest profile candidate in the republican race for senate. he's been under fire for using the term china people. he spent a year in prison after a deadly mine explosion and calls himself trumpier than trump.

the president came out actually against him yesterday saying blankenship cannot win in november. voters are also going to the polls today in indiana, north carolina and ohio. >> i didn't know trump could be used as an adjective. >> yeah. >> trumpier. all right, well, attorney general jeff sessions says the united states has a zero tolerance policy toward people trying to enter the country illegally. during a visit to san diego, he laid out new enforcement standards warning everyone arrested for illegally crossing into the u.s. will be prosecuted and families will be split up if illegal adults are caught with children. >> if you are smuggling a child, then we will prosecute you. and that child may be separated from you as required by law. >> sessions says children who are separated from parents will be supervised by the department of health and human services. and now to the volcano emergency in hawaii. at least 35 homes and buildings have been destroyed but overnight the kilauea volcano appeared to take a break. activity in the 12 lava events

surrounding a housing development appeared to subside at least for now, but toxic gas remains a concern. earlier evacuated resident keith brock returned home to grab some belongings and, in the meantime, recorded this video of the spewing lava creeping across his backyard. just watch and listen. >> holy [ bleep ]. you got to see it and be here to believe it. >> oh, we'll take your word for it. he said it sounded like 100 freight trains. he said the ground was bouncing so much he could hardly keep the camera still. >> unbelievable. >> yeah. all right, time now for a look at your weather for this tuesday morning. there's a growing flood threat in parts of western montana because of melting snow. as many as 1,300 homes may have to evacuate by friday. some people are being told to

days and threatened to feed him to an alligator. walmart is taking new action in the fight against opioid abuse. its pharmacies will no longer dispense more than a seven-day supply of prescriptions containing opioids. the new policy goes into over the next two months. a study finds that patients receiving more than a one-week supply have more than twice the chance of becoming addicted. a new on demand self-driving car service heading to texas. a california start-up called drive ai is using eye pilotless program this summer including driverless vans to transport thousands of workers through an office park near dallas. as a safety feature, since drivers can't communicate with the people they have little panels on the side of the car to say things like waiting for you to cross, please go ahead. meanwhile, flying taxis may be coming to the skies near you sooner than you think. uber is holding talks with federal transportation officials in los angeles today to discuss the safety of those flying taxis in hopes of testing them out by 2020. they use helicopter-style rotors to take off and land vertically. >> okay, so the future is

being interrogated the same day her parents found her shot to death in her bedroom. >> i wouldn't hurt that girl for -- i would hurt myself before i hurt her. >> reporter: prosecutors show the jury hidden camera video hours after that interrogation. the friend says the football player showed him his grandfather's gun which was reported missing two days before walker's murder. authorities later arrested gaul just as he was trying to dispose of the weapon. gaul's attorneys admit their client pulled the trigger but say he didn't mean to kill her. instead they argue he wanted to scare her and then show up as her hero but detectives say where he aimed the gun suggests otherwise. after closing arguments the jury begins deliberations. gaul has already pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment which carries up to 15 years in prison, but if convicted of murder, he could face life behind bars. the catholic bishop in buffalo is being called to step down. reverend richard malone has placed another priest on leave this morning after buffalo news reported the priest was allowed to work in parishes for more

this morning the world is watching president trump, he's expected to announce his decision whether to with did draw from iran nuclear deal. they do think he'll pull out. made in 2015, six western countries agreed to end economic sanctions on iran in exchange for iran's promise to freeze its nuclear program, but the deal expires after a decade. president trump argues it only delays instead of prevents iran from becoming a nuclear state. the president expected to announce his decision at 11:00 this morning pacific time. we'll see if he gives out any indications this morning on social media or elsewhere. back to you. investors watching apple stock closely today. apple on the verge to become the first american country to reach a market value of a trillion dollars. thamgs to a better expected
