will >> lieutenant governor of california will be coming here to visit with these workers at some point it week. we've had a lot of expressions of solidarity, a movement built. it doesn't happen in an instant, it builds. the university of california is going to one way or another get the message. today nurses are expected to picket in solidarity with the workers on strike. ucsf canceled appointments and elective surgeries also hired replacement nurses for patients who do need urgent care. the union is asking for more money than uc can spend and the strike doesn't change the university's fox situation. this strike is set to last through tomorrow. reporting live in berkeley, ame hollifield, abc 7 news.

people found inside a home suspicious at the scene at rob lar and orchard. a woman called saying she hadn't heard from her sister or sister's husband in a month. deputies went to the home and found the bodies. their identities have not been released. san jose police officers suing the city over harassment and discrimination. according to our media partner mercury news, officer nabil haidar has been with sjpd since '97. he says he was subjected to behavior over the years. tipping point when police captain called him isis veteran in november. he filed an official claim yesterday. the community advisory board says he's never witnessed any discrimination. officers who worked with haidar said he makes self-depreciating jokes about himself and

terrorism. removing toxic paint from homes, passed a bill to protect home owners from giant paint companies. appelt upheld lower court that found conagra liable for selling led paint. now they are trying to overturn forcing them to pay $7 million for cleanup. this bill prevents them from going after home owners taking part in the abatement program. linebacker reuben foster expected to enter a plea. we're learning more details about his arrest. according to sacramento beat police report said foster allegedly threw his then girlfriend's dog across the room during an argument in february. the dog wasn't hurt. foster is facing charges, including domestic violence for the incident, although his accuser recently recanted her story. new developments involving concord teacher accused of sexually assaulting developmentally disabled

student. daniel gonzalez charged with 23 counts including rape in december. according to our partner "east bay times" the victim now suing the district claiming school officials heard about improper conduct with the teacher but did not act. gonzalez worked at the center. he's pleaded not guilty and scheduled to be in court. a thief saw an opportunity and took advantage of it again and again. police say someone pro into a total of 37 cars during college park high school senior ball. it happened friday night at the school parking lot where people parked and took a bugs to the off campus dance. solar panels for new homes could become mandatory in california. the state energy commission set to vote on the requirements tomorrow. abc 7 news reporter katie marzullo on how this impacts the cost of buying a home. >> reporter: sam brought this three years ago, drone view 7 shows the solar panels on the

let's take a look at the north bay warm temperatures here. you can see the spike at 2:00 at 0. before we get there 54 at 8:00, 10 warmer at 10:00, 10 warmer again 73 at noon. still near 80 at 4:00, dropping down to 67 by 8:00 in the evening. now, inland east bay, the valleys, they are also going to be warm today with aify high clouds and sunshine reaching 80, still there at 4:00, down to 60 at 8:00. starting warmer this morning 59 at 8:00. if you're heading out right now no cloud cover in the east bay and some accidents to talk about. here is alexis. >> unfortunately a few issues traffic alert worthy. westbound 92, still have that crash involving a semi blocking two left lanes. just that far right lane is getting by, west of the highrise just before foster city. that back-up continues to grow. also a sig alert i should for northbound 880 before davis street. we've got debris blocking three

right lanes. caltrans and chp on the scene. we are working to confirm what that debris is, hispanic that's hard to clean up obviously they are not sure when those lanes will reopen. i'll have more information on that coming up in just about ten minutes. another crash in concord southbound 242 before clayton road two vehicles involved in that blocking the two left lanes. breaking news, seismic activity happening in southern california, 4.2 earthquake hitting palm springs 20 minutes ago. moments ago they had a smaller quake at 3.6, i believe. it's centered in the palm springs area. you can see how far away it reached. some people feeling it as far away as los angeles. 4:49, bigger quake, 4.6 magnitude quake. no word on any injuries in the area. again, we had na smaller quake that just happened a few seconds ago. i'll keep my eye on things.

the strike. the world really watching president trump this morning. he's expected to announce his decision on whether or not to withdraw from the iran nuclear deal. i've been watching things, too. i can tell you that things are not looking good for keeping it, even on the iranian side. overnight iran's president warning the country could face problems if the u.s. backs out of this deal. iran's first vice president also saying it would be naive to negotiate with the united states. the deal is made in 2015. western countries agreed to end economic sanctions on iran if iran promised to freeze its nuclear program. but it expires after a decade. president trump has not been a fan of keeping it, saying it just delays the nuclear armed state of iran. other countries agree, but a lot of european countries want to keep this deal. the president is expected to announce his final decision at 11:00 a.m. pacific time, but we're waiting to see if he makes any indication on his move earlier this morning. back to you. thank you, jessica. happening today, google gets

nimitz. a big mess. we have a live picture exactly what we're dealing with with sky 7. northbound side of 880 just before you get to davis. you saw in that tight shot when they were zoomed in, there isac roadway, teeny tiny pieces. someone lost wood pallets and folks started driving over it. i've seen at least three vehicles in the shoulder with flat tires. three out of five lanes taken away. check this out as sky 7 pans back there and puts sky mount 7 on sky 7. this extends for miles now. we're right around three miles for the back-up, starts with marina boulevard. no estimate upon when this will clear. they are going to need to bring in a street sweeper. this roadway littered with tiny pieces of wood. no street sweeper yet. you can use 3580 for alternate. that looks good. big-rigs are permitted to use
