in a few moments, i will sign a presidential memorandum to beg macron, angela merkel and boris johnson all made trips to washington in the past weeks trying to save the deal. but their arguments didn't work. tara palmieri, washington. >> it's not just iranian members angry. many citizens took to social media denouncing the u.s. and expressed concerns about possible shortages they could face particularly when it comes to medications. >> the iran deal was former president obama's chief accomplishment. he warned that the u.s. could eventually be left with a losing choice between a nuclear-armed iran or another war in the middle east. many u.s. companies had already invested in iran. we carry on right now, and the secretary of state mike

pompeo is in north korea right now working on the possible release of american hostages. it's pompeo's second visit there in less than a month. his first included a meeting with kim jong un. this time he's pressing the north koreans to release the three u.s. citizens being held hostage. if they're freed, pompeo says it would be a great gesture ahead of president trump's upcoming meeting with kim. eric schneiderman is facing a criminal investigation after four women accused him of abuse. governor cuomo has appointed a special prosecutor to the case. he says he appointed the special prosecutor to avoid any conflicts of interest. just weeks after he was forced to resign, father patrick conroy had coffee with the house

speaker paul ryan and said they plan to meet again next week for dinner. members of both parties had complained over conroy's departure which ryan insists was over concern of his pastoral care. and the utah republican senator orrin hatch is apologizing to john mccain. he had said it was ridiculous for mccain to ask that president trump not attend his funeral. well, now hatch tells the "washington post" that he shouldn't have said anything. mccain is home in arizona, battling a serious form of brain cancer. his daughter criticized hatch's comment on abc's "the view", which of course she co-hosts. a junior navy officer has pleaded guilty for her part in the deadly collision of the "uss fitzgerald" and a containership off japan. she did not warn of an eminent collision. she received a letter of reprimand and a cut in pay for three months.

the commander and two other junior officers are also facing charges. a high school student is under arrest accused of making a hit list with the names of more than a dozen students. the 16 year old in macon county admitted that he intended to harm the people on the list, which included the principal. several rifles and handguns were among an arsenal of weapons found in his bedroom. a second neighborhood is in the crosshairs of the kilauea volcano. some residents ignored the evacuation order, and two new vents may block escape routes. kayna whitworth has more. >> reporter: on hawaii's big island, residents on edge, bracing for new lava flows after two new cracks open up. the tropical forest is now a river of ash and red hot lava. roads slowly being consumed by a wall of molten rock.

when is spring going to get here, when is spring going to get here? she has gotten here. >> and the pollen that comes along with her. we're going to start with this interesting development in the russia probe overnight, the money trail leading to president trump's long-time attorney, new allegations of payments from an american company linked to a russian billionaire. >> after the election, cohen reportedly received $500,000 from an investment firm linked to viktor vekselberg, a russian oligarch close to vladimir putin. the attorney for stormy daniels says the money was wired to the same account used to pay off his client. >> some of the transactions involved major companies like at&t. we begin with abc's pierre thomas. >> reporter: stormy daniel's attorney released a statement laying out a series of banking transactions including eight by cohen to the russian oligarch.

we've reached out to cohen's attorney and not yet heard back. we do know that the russian oligarch has already been interviewed by the special counsel's team of robert mueller. >> michael avenatti said he's confident that the information is 100% accurate. >> on cnn he suggested that michael cohen may have been selling access to the president. >> is it clear to you why this company would have paid michael cohen after the election, payments up to $500,000? >> it's not clear to us yet. but what we do know is there was about $500,000 worth of payments that took place between january of 2017, so this is after the election that occurred in november 2016. and then up through or prior, approximately august of 2017. so about an eight-month time period of payments, totaling approximately $500,000.

>> so avenatti declined to say how he obtained the records, but he said it came through an exhaustive process. and for many people doubting whether or not the information was wrong, at&t actually did come out with a statement as a result. and he says that collaborates what he is talking about. at&t said to have paid cohen's company some $200,000. >> that company's also come forward saying it's solely owned and controlled by americans, but avenatti says the oligarch's american cousin runs the company. so the link may not be completely direct but the link is there. >> it's easy to get lost in the weeds. >> we need a whiteboard. >> we do, absolutely. many are saying it may lead to some sort of bank fraud. investigators are looking into it. michael avenatti shockingly found the tv camera and will be on gma a little bit later on this morning. >> ooh, michael? >> he's calling you right now. we're going to carry on
