the air. it's going to be that way all the way through the morning commute. it will be cooler this lunch, maybe not quite as bright. mid 50s at the coast, mid to upper sixties around our inland neighborhoods. breezy and seasonal temperatures and then we'll be in the upper 50s to low 60s at 7:00. that rounds out my accuweather 12-hour planner. >> i've got the visibility layer on the traffic maps. we definitely have some fog out there this morning. i want to take you up to the antioch bridge. we have a crash reported on the north end of the bridge. however, it looks like you're updating that location. i want to take you up a litt north into the rio vista area. this was reported as a rollover crash. it looks like one of the vehicles caught fire, i'm guessing the one that rolled over. the fire department is there. the bridge is fully blocked and we have long delays between rio

san francisco police chief william scott is one of three finalists for that job, this according to "the l.a. times." mayor eric garcetti said he interviewed the three finalists and will likely do a second round with some members of the city council. the other two candidates are lapd veteran commanders. scott served as deputy chief at lapd before coming to san francisco in 2016. garcetti says he expects to choose a new chief by the end of the month. abc 7 news learned new details about the fran police officer accusing the department of religious discrimination. he claims someone sketched an isis flag on his locker with the message go back. the officer asked not to be identified for safety reasons. abc 7 has learned that the officer was the subject of a napa police all points bulletin in 2013. he met a female on a dating website and said he was a high level cia agent.

the bulletin alerted other agencies that he had applied to be a police officer in sacramento, west san francisco and santa cruz. the oakland police department confirmed he was dismissed from the oakland police academy. we reached out from the public defender on these new revelations. hospital employees at the university of california will be hitting the picket line. the california nurse's association and university professional technical employees joined the picket line wednesday. union members want higher wages and an end to job outsourcing. a spokesperson for the uc system says the strike will not change its financial situation adding the salary and benefit demands are excessive. this is expected to be the last day of the strikes. that time again. your voice, your vote. six candidates for california c governor shared the stage in san jose last night. here is abc news reporter katie marzullo. >> reporter: several debate questions focused on

mid to upper 60s, the breezes keeping your temperatures in check. look at the cloud cover, more stubborn than it was yesterday. temperatures reflect that, upper 50s today. mid 60s barely in san francisco. 63 today, south san francisco 64. same thing in sausalito. upper 50s along the north bay coast, 69 at petaluma to about 74 through our north bay valleys. along the east bayshore, the breeze is keeping your temperatures in check from 66 in emeryville and also berkeley and oakland to about 70 in fremont, orinda and hercules. as you move to the valleys, low to mid 70s here with 72 in san ramon and pleasanton. tonight not quite as mild as this morning. in the north bay, we'll clear out a little bit. temperatures in the upper 40s. low to mid 50s as you head down into the south bay. here is my accuweather forecast, highs on the rise. tomorrow they'll go back above average. sunny and warmer, especially away from the coast friday. abo above average for saturday.

rafael bridge seven minutes, 14 across san mateo and ten minutes across the dumbarton bridge. we did not startout quietly this morning, however. mike nicco knows all about this. he was stuck in it, too. just outside the caldecott tunnel. a car became disabled on the highway, state route 4 just on the west end of the tunnel. another driver stopped to help and a tow truck came along. that's when things really got crazy. one of the drivers got into an altercation with the tow truck driver. someone in one of the vehicles pulled out a gun and fired twice into the air. no one was hit. chp stopped traffic in the tunnel to investigate. everything cleared up around 4:00 this morning. a hazmat situation at valley medical center. >> matt keller live with details on what led up to the emergency action. matt. >> good morning, natasha and reggie. this was not a normal incident.

firefighters say the hospital procedures worked. they isolated everybody outside the emergency room in this parking lot here and they decontaminated the patient and medical staff there. take a look at video from earlier this morning, san jose fire was called about 11:45 to help with a possible hazmat stuation and hospital workers needed help with the decontamination procedure. it started as a patient was flown in on a medical helicopter. firefighters contacted the patient's employer to find out what substance he and the medical staff was exposed to. they isolated the patient and staff. firefighters were asked, is this normal? >> no, not really. the patient was decontaminated on scene. it sounds like there might have been a little bit of a respiratory issue that had a secondary contamination. procedures were followed. these things happen sometimes, all the proper mid cases were put in place once we found out that there were additional problems. >> the helipad was shut down as

train. the second batch of cars got the green light. another ten-car train will be rolling onto the tracks by next week. the state public utilities commission approved the new train yesterday, four days after it passed the systemwide test. the new rail cars will run on t officials expect 80 new cars in service bithe end of next year. big relief for a heartbroken dog owner in san francisco. she has finally found her stolen pug. stephanie lee had been searching for filo since last month where someone stole him outside the whole foods market. lee discovered filo had been sold and was in oakland. she took him to the vet last night, and he seems just fine. the plan to build massive tunnels to divert water from the sacramento river to southern california is getting a big boost in the bay area. the sclount water district, the

$17 billion project will provide water to areas that need it badly. environmental groups say the tunnels will harm wild life and water squat in san francisco bay. city leaders are expected to give a big boost to solar power. the state energy commission is set to vote on rules that will require solar panels on most new homes, single family homes and apartment buildings three stories or less. the bottom line, it's expected to add about $9,000. for the fourth straight season, the warriors advanced to the western conference finals. golden state will several nights to prepare. tickets go on sale to the general publish tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. games one and two are in houston, the series opener is
