it was like taking candy from a baby. >> an east bay student says hacking the grades of his classmates was that easy. tonight he's talking exclusively with abc 7 news about how and why he did it. good evening. i'm dan ashley. >> and i'm ama daetz. the 16-year-old sophomore says it took a matter of minutes to hack into the grade system at ygnacio valley high school. >> and tonight he spoke exclusively with abc 7 news reporter lisa amin gulezian. >> police search warrant. >> excuse me? >> open the door. >> reporter: this surveillance video shows the moment armed officers and the secret service broke down the door to david rotaro's home. the 16-year-old admitted to me he hacked into ygnacio high

school's grading network. it took him just five minutes to create a phishing e-mail which he sent out to school staff. administrators were tipped off two weeks ago. that's when someone in the i.t. department got that phishing e ma mail but it went to spam. just from n. case he asked all the teachers if they'd gotten the same e-mail. only one admitted to opening it. all he needed was one e-mail and password. he raised and dropped the grades of 10 female. >> he was charged with unauthorized use of entering a network to unauthorized use of a person's personal information. >> i'm speechless. i don't know. like what to say. >> reporter: rottaro did say he wanted to also point out the school's vublt school's vublth. >> i kind of want to give awareness to cybersecurity. >> reporter: rottaro's parents had no idea their son had this skill set. >> frustrated he did this. i don't want him to go be in

juvenile. >> reporter: rotaro was released from custody wednesday, and by the way, he never got around to actually changing his own grades. in concord lisa amin gulezian, abc 7 news. and you're looking at what happened after a tesla plowed into a starbucks in los gatos. police are trying to find out if a driver made a mistake or if the tesla was operating on autopilot. no one was hurt, but this afternoon's crash caused minor structural damage to the building on blossom hill road. new details tonight. abc 7 news has learned the san francisco police officer at the center of a harassment allegation against the department has been terminated. abc 7 news reporter katie marzullo has the latest developments. >> reporter: we were not able to talk with the former san francisco police officer who lives in pleasanton, but a neighbor said an unmarked police car and patrol units were at the house wednesday. sources tell us police came to the house to retrieve the officer's badge and servic weapon. san francisco police will only confirm the officer has left the

department. the officer is of afghan descent and is muslim. in april he filed a complaint accusing the department of racial and religious harassment. >> i've been labeled as a rat, singled out by my colleagues. >> reporter: earlier this week abc 7 news learned in 2013 the officer was the subject of a napa police all points bulletin. police alerted all other agencies he told a woman on a dating website he was a high-level cia agent and that he was involved in the killing of osama bin laden. abc 7 news also learned before he joined sfpd he was kicked out of the oakland police academy for "untruthfulness." the officer's attorney told us his client "passed a lie detector test and a background check when he was admitted to san francisco's academy." in pleasanton katie marzullo, abc 7 news. prosecutors from at least four california counties will meet tomorrow to see if several cold cases might be linked to the golden state killer. today santa barbara county's district attorney filed four murder charges against the suspect, joseph deangelo.

deangelo is a former police officer. he already faces charges for two murders in sacramento county. all the cases date back to the 1970s and '80s. >> i've always believed that justice delayed is justice denied, and this has been a very long process for the victims in this case. >> deangelo remains in jail in sacramento. police believe he committed at least 12 murders and more than 50 rapes. tomorrow the men blamed for the 2016 ghost ship fire that killed 36 people will ask to be released from jail pending their trial. the bay area news group says the attorney for derek almena and max harris plan to cite a landmark state court ruling. it orders judges to consider alternatives to jail for criminal defendants too poor to afford bail. the defense is also asking the judge to dismiss the case outright. a 15-year-old student was airlifted to an east bay trauma center today after he was hilt in the head by a shot-put. east contra costa officers were

called to heritage high school. the teen was flown to john muir medical center in walnut creek. the school principal says the student is back home tonight. he received three staples and a precautionary ct scan was clear. if you are flying tomorrow you may have a lot of company. mineta san jose international airport expects a record number of passengers. the airport tweeted this photo with the message "plan ahead." officials urge passengers to arrive two hours before their departure time. security checkpoints will open earlier than usual tomorrow morning. there's 30 in the terminal a and 345 -- 3:30 a.m., right, in terminal b. about 24,000 people will depart san jose tomorrow. >> an incredible economy right now, and just with all eyes on silicon valley people are using our airport more and more. >> the airport has gained seven airlines and 24 new routes since 2014 as well. it's getting a lot busier.

women are told to avoid alcohol during pregpregnancy. but what about polt? some dispensaries in the bay area say it will help with morning sickness. >> but what do doctors think about that? here's abc 7 news reporter kate larsen. >> reporter: marijuana and pregnancy don't traditionally go together. but according to a new study out of colorado 64% of dispensaries randomly surveyed recommended marijuana use to treat morning sickness. >> it's very concern og to me. >> reporter: dr. mickey adams is a high-risk ob-gyn in oakland and does not recommend marijuana use during pregnancy because it may adversely affect the fetus. but she does say more research is needed. >> severe nausea and vomiting is very, very serious. if marijuana is relatively safe and if it is effective, then it may be a useful medicine. we don't know. we ought to have done that work by now. >> reporter: i went to three east bay dispensaries. one did not recommend any marijuana products for pregnant women but two others did

recommend marijuana. specifically cbd oil. >> i wouldn't recommend a bud tender tell a pregnant woman to consume cannabis. >> reporter: dale sky jones's job is to educate cannabis industry professionals. like dr. adam she bleevds it's necessary to weight risks and benefits of any medical treatment. >> oftentimes moms find after trying everything else the only thing that helps with the vomiting and the nausea is canal bis. >> reporter: it's important to consult your doctor before starting any medical treatment. kate larsen, abc 7 news. a warning tonight about wearing yoga pants when you're having an mri. doctors say the metallic fibers often found in fabrics with spandex with react with the imaging machine and caused light to moderate burning. radiologists in hospitals are banning athleticwear during mris and some are citing lululemon by name. patients are being asked to change into cotton or paper gowns. tonight for the first time you're going to see what's behind the child abuse charge against an east bay school bus driver.

no, i can't -- >> you talked to the police and that backfired. we're done. >> the i-team's dan noyes confronts an east bay school bus driver caught on video in a violent incident with an 8-year-old girl with autism. now the bus driver is facing a criminal prosecution, and that video is central to the case. >> dan is here with a story you'll see only on abc 7 news. >> reporter: ama and dan, the girl's parents don't want to be interviewed. seeing that video was just too traumatic. but they gave it to me for this report because they want answers about what happened and the school district's training and oversight as they prepare to file a lawsuit. that ride on a tuesday morning in february began with a stern warning from 64-year-old vacaville school bus driver kim klopson after an 8-year-old girl with autism temporarily blocked the aisle with her leg. >> and if you stick your feet out like that again to keep her from moving, you are going to be

on the window. got it? >> reporter: it escalated after the bus arrived at browns valley elementary and the special needs students began to file off. klopson wanted the little girl to remain seated. >> you're misbehaving. as always, sounds like to me. nope. mine. mine. because you did not do what you were supposed to. now sit down. and you can have it back. no. >> reporter: three minutes later a staff member comes to get the girl, but she's still upset. the bus driver taunts her. >> because [ muted ]'s acting like she's younger than her baby sister. aw. [ muted ] is only 2. [ screaming ] oh, no, a baby. >> reporter: then klopson gets even more physical. >> you might think you can get away with this, but not on my bus. now, you ready? let's go. let's go.

[ screaming ] let's go. yeah. >> reporter: the girl hits her head on the floor, and the struggle continues for more than a minute. the staff member just standing there. >> so i get to do that again? help you sit up? get up. [ crying ] you want to crawl? you can crawl. >> reporter: then the driver closes the door. >> we'll be right there. [ screaming ] okay. you done? >> reporter: the family's lawyer calls that false imprisonment. >> she's trapping her there so she can continue to be violent with her and to reprimand her and to yell at her. >> reporter: the teacher's aide walked away for 3 1/2 more minutes klopson and the girl are alone. she rips off her jacket. >> nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. you done? [ screaming ] nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. klopson tries to force the backpack on. [ screaming ]

>> i don't like you. >> i don't like you. >> please stop it. i don't want to. >> no, i'm not going to stop it. >> stop it, please. >> she finally opens the door. the staff member helps the girl off the bus. klopson notices she has drawn a crowd. >> it's okay. i didn't hurt her, guys. i mean, you're all alike. [ screaming ] it's okay. bye, [ muted ]. i'll see you after school. that should be interesting. >> reporter: vacaville unified fired klopson after the incident. she now faces a criminal child of cruelty to child by inflicting injury and has pleaded not guilty. >> it's absolutely horrifying. this woman has no business driving a special needs bus. >> reporter: after i showed him a video an autism society board member is demanding answers from the school district. >> where was the training for this person? why is she driving a special needs bus? when clearly she has no clue and she doesn't know how to handle this situation. >> reporter: i tried to question school superintendent jane shamaya after a public event

except at the higher elevations where they're beginning to pick up. here's a look at the forecast. gusty tomorrow night especially in the hills. sunny and warmer through saturday, and it is going to be pleasant and mild for mother's day. a live picture right now from our sutro camera looking toward downtown san francisco. you see city hall there, a beautiful view. here's what you need to watch out for, a wind advisory 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. tomorrow. carquinez strait and delta gusts to 40-plus miles an hour, difficulty driving and blowing debris will be the biggest concerns. fire danger is increasing. a wind advisory for the north and east bay hills beginning 7:00 p.m. tomorrow night running until 5:00 a.m. saturday. watch out for downed trees and power lines. just be more aware of your surrounding. especially as those winds ramp up. i want to show you hour by hour how they're going to look. >> so tomorrow afternoon a little breezy but not terribly windy until later on at night we start to see those winds increasing. 30, 35 miles an hour over the higher terrain when it's a northerly, northeasterly wind.

it's a down-sloping wind. it will dry out the area even more. and the vegetation even more going into saturday morning, which is why the concern is there for fire danger around this time of year. temperatures first thing in the morning upper 40s to the mid 50s. clear start. and then for your afternoon it is going to be a warmer day, mid 80s inland. 60s, 70s along the coast. it is going to be windy, especially in the hills and around carquinez strait in delta. in case you want to spend time at the santa cruz boardwalk or the beach it is looking like a fantastic day. santa cruz 78 degrees. uv index will be very high. bright and mild. make sure you take sun screen with you. temperatures will be in the mid 60s for the other coastal cities. 52 for the ocean temperature. mother's day planner fog in the morning 7:00 a.m., cooler in the afternoon but still pretty mild around the bay and inland with some sun 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon. 50s along the coast. accuweather seven-day forecast looks like this. warming it up, 60s to 80s friday, saturday. mother's day temperatures drop a few degrees but i think moms will still enjoy the weather.
