a look at how farrell's plan would help san francisco finally reach a police stachg level put into place two decades ago. a santa clara city councilman resigned following allegations that he sexually harassed students at schools where he taught as well as former campaign staff members. dock nim caserta is spunning the campaign for county supervisor. chris wip has the update. >> reporter: inside council chambers in santa clara visual signs of the former councilman will be taken down. >> his action haves had a terrible stain on our city of santa clara. and now we as a city can begin the process. move forward. >> the mayor responding to the news that caserta had resigned the position this morning amid claims of sexual harassment. the 16-year councilman suspends his campaign for santa clara county board of supervisors in a statement he said the tails are false in every sense of the word

city censure policy. chris wynn, abc 7. the santa clara unified school district would only confirm caserta is an employee of the district but wouldn't share share if disciplinary action had been taken. the santa clara police department is now investigating. san jose police are investigating the city's eighth murder of the year. happened around 1:15 this morning. two adult men both suffering from a gunshot wound. one victim died in the hospital. the other veeted for non-life threatening injuries. people are frustrated with what's happening in their neighborhood. >> it's sad, horrible. it's horrible. and scarey because like we can't have our kids -- our kids aren't safe out here. it's sad. >> the shooting also marks the city's second homicide in just over a week. no suspects have been identified in the shooting. we have new developments this afternoon in the shocking child abuse investigation out of

a ruling is expected at a later date. but all sides expect the issue to end up before the supreme court. we are now one step closer to rising rates for ride shares at san francisco international airport. the airport commission at sfo heard proposals that would make usual or lyft raids costliers for travelers but no final decision has been made yet. the airport is considering charging a premium fee for rides where customers are dropped off or picked up at curbside at airport terminals. speaking of usual they nounsed policy changes design to alter the reputation that brushes aside bad behavior. usualer now allows riders to file allegations of sexual assault in courts and mediation rather than locked into an arbitration hearing. the company is scrapping a policy requiring all settlements of sexual misconduct to be kept confidential. lyft also announced today it would scrap its rules binding passengers and drivers to private arbitration and confidential settlements in cases involving allegations of

it's that pesky low that ushers in cold air locally sparking thundershowers to our north. those will all settle down as the sun goes down this evening. staying away from our region. we don't have any rain in the forecast next 24 hours. picture outside, pier 39, a live look. sea lions just basketing in a little bit of afternoon sunshine out there. the ocean water temperature is still chilly in the low 50s. may so far halfway through the month. i don't think this surprises anybody. the majority of month so far has been below average in san francisco in terms of afternoon highs. only four days so far this month temperatures have actually gotten above average. and running about three degrees cooler than we should this time of year across the region. the chill still over us at this hour. only 61 in san francisco right now. at 64 in oakland. 69 in the current number in san jose. 65 in santa rosa and right now san ramon checking in with temperature of 67 degrees. this is the reason why we are dealing with the cool
