both guns police say belonged to the shooter's father. they say he owned them legally. this has been the fifth shooting since parkland, o high school. ? san jose, kaunsy glover, abc 7 news. according to cnn this is the 22nd schoolle shooting in 2018. the shootings range from mass casual i incidents like the parkland florida incidents where 17 students and adults were killed to the shooting a week ago today in palm dale in los angeles county where a 14-year-old boy brought a semiautomatic rifle to school and shot another student in the shoulder. according to the "washington post" 214,000 american children have experienced gunman violence at school since the columbine massacre in 1999. strong reaction from all corners of the country. sadly those who have been there before. >> abc 7 news anchor kristen sze has a look at responses to the tragedy. kristen. >> ama and layer.

during a practice stop tried to run him over. the suspect was shot several times by another deputy. abc 7 news news reporter chris wynn with the update. >> reporter: north of santa cruz neighbors along ocean street extension are disturbed by some of the activity in their neighborhood. >> a habitation for prostitution, drug use, people bringing their garbage, dump it out of the trucks down there. >> around 3:30 this morning two santa cruz county sheriff's deputies on patrol encountered and a man and woman parked off to the side and moving items between two separate vehicles. deputies ran the plates and discovered one of the vehicles was reported as solen. the suspects were detained in separate patrol cars to determine who had driven the stolen vehicle >> while deputies interviewed the man was the woman slipped out of handcuffed and reached through a partially open window in the patrol car and open the door. the woman then entered the driver's side of the patrol car and without warning drove the vehicle directly at one of the

levels. starting forecast animation, 7:00 in evening at that point we see fog responding along the coast lineup again. once again surges over the bay overnight and locally inland. early tomorrow morning we start with low clouds and fog. maid day to late afternoon mainly sunny. a bit breezy and pleasantly mild day tomorrow into saturday. the same pattern there. cooler breezier on sunday but not a lot of change from tomorrow to sunday. overnight we may see spotty drizzle especially near the coastline as those low clouds and fog contain a bit of moisture. you may need the windshield wipers if you are driving near the coastline or around the bay. during the late night and overnight hours. by afternoon tomorrow the fog pulse back to the coastline. parts of the coat line sunny. . other parts lingering fog and low clouds. high temperatures range from about 60 at the coast to mid-and upper 60s around the bay shoreline. inland communities tomorrow see highs the mid-to upper 70s. mild but not really very warm
