speaking with abc 7 news. a jury convicted diondre lewis of 37 felonies involving at least seven women. the charges include murder after one of the women abused by lewis killed herself. he says he's not a monster. >> at the end of the day i never made anybody do anything they didn't want to do. anybody around me is because they chose to, he wanted to. >> he threatened my family, beat me on several occasions, held a gun to my head. you know, my son witnessed some of it unfortunately. >> lewis has spent the last four years at the contra costa county jail in martinez. on friday he'll find out if he'll be sentenced to 150 more in state prison. a troubled b.a.r.t. walkway a hot spot for drug use may be shut down. recent cell phone video shows people using drugs in civic station corridor. b.a.r.t. director says b.a.r.t. is considering closing the hallway that connects the 7th and 8th street entrances.

chief of stat john kelly. republicans have been demanding to see the documents but doj that refused fearing leaks. nbc news, washington. a push to pay higher bridge tolls in exchange fores time in traffic. mayors from san francisco, oakland and san jose are urging voters to say yes to regional measure 3 june 6th. it would hike tolls on all bridges except golden gate bridge by $3. the funds would be spent on increasing ferry service, improving bus systems and replacing b.a.r.t. trains. supporters say this will encourage people to take public transportation and thus ease transportation. opponents say the money should be spent on improvements to directly help those paying tolls. if that gets you to want to vote, you are still in luck if you need to register for the june 5th primary. today is the first ever post registration day in california. the deadline for regular registration online or by mail passed last night. but you can still sign up for

conditional voter registration in person at a designated location. in san francisco that is city hall. we have a link to locations online abc7news.com. >> you're never more than 7 minutes away from accuweather forecast. temperatures are pretty mild this morning. a lot of mid-50s throughout inland east bay valleys. danville 52 the cool spot until you head to black hawk at 51. here is a look at the mist hanging in the air as we watch traffic move across the bay bridge. caution because of that. use the windshield wipers several times this morning. mass trans i will cool this morning, umbrella for the necessary. know there is moisture hanging in the air. kind of frizzy out there. ferry ride, small craft advisory north of the bay bridge today. not south like we had yesterday. speaking of south, here is a look at south bay starting cloudy and 57. we'll see some breaks in the cloud cover by 10:00.

61 by noon. top out at 70 by 2:00. clouds start rolling in 8:00 when we drop to 60. north bay a little cooler than yesterday. 53 and cloudy in the morning, 66 and sunshine by noon. we'll hang in the upper 60s for the better part of the afternoon. about 57 by 8:00. all right. here is a look at our chances of drizzle today and tomorrow morning. our chances of showers are now about 30% for thursday and friday. touch more on that coming up in the accuweather forecast. you want to touch more on the commute, what are you watching? >> good so far today, no major issues. the drizzle, little bit of mist isn't slowing us down either. use the caution. i definitely had to flip the wipers on several times. that maens ramps and curves could be slick. southbound 680 on the right new york city delays there through the walnut creek area. we're incident-free throughout east bay so far today. the northbound side is nice and light at this early hour. far today looking got.

this is a look at our chance of thunderstorms. the threat is as low as it gets. this whole area shaded in green, the high country, that's pretty much what we're looking at. in fact, another quiet day. 74 yosemite. you see some of the higher elevations getting some snow, receiving snow, 77 and breezy in sacramento. mid to upper 60s in l.a. and san diego. not as cloudy as yesterday but just almost as cool and near 90 in palm springs. accuweather seven-day forecast in case you're heading to the high country. tahoe, look at thunderstorms through thursday. chance of thunderstorms linger friday and saturday but looks more like showers, even some snow will be a more dominant

understandably still shaken after devastating wildfires in october. abc 7 news reporter wayne freedman has more on what's being done to prepare santa rosa. >> reporter: lest you firefighter as a life of constant excitement, here is the other side of that. boots on the ground in santa rosa identifying trouble spots before they happen. this is day one of inspecting fire prone areas and getting owners to cut down the weeds. santa rosa has become particularly cut on weed abatement. now if they come out and see a lot like this you get one warning. after that if it's not fixed or cut down, you pay. >> if we don't have a property in compliance we don't want another two or three weeks of free time because then the property is not abated. >> as green grass turns gold fire season has begun. with every day expect proactive prevention. gas and electric can turn

the solar panels. sunshine and breezy conditions, cooler temperatures than yesterday. kind of a one and done until we get to the back half of the memorial holiday weekend. all right. so drizzle tonight, showers possible thursday and friday. there you go. signs of summer for memorial day if not sunday. first here is a look at the cloud cover. all of us waking up gray this morning with that mist. look at this. by noon most of the bay still filled with clouds. definitely along the coast. that's a huge change from yesterday. .bay never completely empties of the clouds. in fact, by 4:00 you can still see plenty of gray from the san mateo bridge all the way down to about -- the richmond san rafael bridge to san mateo bridge. by 7:00 clouds back to all neighborhoods. let's see what it does to temperatures. mainly upper 50s around san francisco, south san francisco 61. that's as warm as it gets.

over along east bay mid to upper 60s today with 63 in oakland. notice not as much sunshine. same thing on the peninsula with mid to upper 60s. but along the coast, look at that half moon bay and pacifica in the upper 50s. south bay low- to mid-70s. even 60s in sunnyville, milpitas, santa cruz 66. upper 60s rahmr rahmr ram ramon. anyone missing 90s? drizzle, low- to mid-50s tonight. accuweather forecast not all of us will get showers. a 30% coverage for thursday and friday after a drizzle in the morning. look at the 80s sunday and monday. i'm surprised. here is a look at traffic. here is alexis. >> good morning, mike. a little surprised at how quiet the morning is on the roads so far, too. we don't have any major issues,

just a minor thing popped up in the last few minutes east bay, westbound 24, 580 to westbound 580. sounds like a disabled vehicle off to the shoulder. this map should be south of there. i put that at highway 13. either place we are not seeing any delays. i'll keep an eye on that situation. we should have that totally gone in the next few minutes. bay bridge toll plaza doing okay unless you're paying cash, stack up in the cash lines. no metering lines yet fasttrack just fine. next up before 5:00. scarecrows and canyons failing to keep away from vineyard in sonoma county. now the owners are going with lasers. the lasers are from the bird control group, which is based in holland. these lasers include beams of pl lime green light to scare away the birds. lime green light is used because that's the color they say best.
