7:13 am
one of the reasons that the ntsb is calling on new jersey and others to add shoulder belts to their buses. while school buses do remain the safest way to transport students the ntsb says they can be even safer with those belts as well as automatic braking and electronic stability control systems. 16 recommendations in all, a lot about driver. the new jersey bus driver's license suspended 14 times. the board wants to make sure they're vetted and qualified to drive our children to school. robin. >> thank you, david. >> sure is. now we remember one of america's greatest writers. philip roth died last night at the age of 85 after more than half a century of writing that brought him the pulitzer prize, two national book awards. president trump presented him with the national humanities medal for his body of work including "good-bye columbus." and "american pastoral." when asked to define himself he said simply, i'm an american. >> straight to the point. thank you for that, george. we have a holiday travel alert. as you prepare to hit the road
