mixture of minor sunshine and temperatures below average. starting off with the same temperatures we've been all week. low to mid 50s. towards noon, upper 50s at the coast. barely mid 60s around our bay and inland neighborhoods. can't shake the cool. 57 at the coast, mid 60s elsewhere. by 7:00 in the evening mostly cloudy, 56 to 61. after 7:00 we start turning our attention toward the chance of rain in the overnight hours. good morning, mike. i want to take you down to the south bay where we got word of a sig alert due to flooding once again. it was about a week ago we had a water main break southbound 280 at state route 87. i'm not sure if it's the same issue, but we've got flooding again. the far right lane is blocked as is the connector. already seeing a backup. that could be a big issue once again. another tough spot here, westbound 580 before north lynn

roads. reports of a u-haul truck and motorcycle colliding and possible injuries to the motorcycle rider. we have the left lane blocked on westbound 580 around the altamont pass. i'll have an update on both of these significant issues coming up next. now, a live desk update from abc 7 mornings. new this morning, a purse snatcher in concord who severely injured a 93-year-old woman is in custody. i want to show you these pictures we have. this is the man police were looking for. detectives believe he robbed two women, badly hurting the 93-year-old who remains in the hospital. the purse snatcher knocked her to the ground outside the bank of america at the sun valley shopping center last friday. police made last night's arrest in the central valley city of patterson. no doubt officers there will be working with concord police on this case. natasha, back to you. >> jessica, thank you. happening today, the california supreme court is expected to rule whether facebook and other social media

companies must turn over user content to criminal defendants. two murder suspects in san francisco requested video and other content posted to facebook and instagram by the victim and a witness. those murder suspects claim the constitutional right to a fair trial entitles them to the material to prepare for their case. attorneys for facebook and instagram say a federal privacy law prevents the release of user content. new details on a flag kneeling controversy involving an east bay teacher. some students are fighting to keep him from being transferred. not everyone wants him to stay. abc 7 news reporter kate larsen has that story. >> reporter: students rally for tiyler rust who took a knee whie the flag was raised. >> the controversy is very good. >> carter simms and dozens of other students showed up to protest the district's decision to transfer mr. russ to liberty

news. tesla says the model s that crashed into a pond in castro valley and killing the driver was not on auto pilot. keith leon died in the crash on sunday night. it was submerged in a pond off crow canyon road. chp investigators are trying to determine if he was possibly impaired or speeding at the time. happening today, uber and california secretary of state will announce a new voter education partnership as the june 5th statewide primary election approaches. the partnership will use uber's app platform to inform riders about important information. uber logs the first phase of project before the midnight deadline. a government informant contacted trump campaign officials leading up to the 2016 election. president trump claims that former president obama used the fbi to spy on his campaign.

top republican lawmakers will be shown classified documents relating to the matter this morning. democrats will bb briefed later in the afternoon. the fbi says the informant was trying to get information on possible russian contact with trump officials. the hawaii army national guard says it's prepared to evacuate residents near the k l kilauea volcano by helicopter. there's only one ground evacuation route for about 1,000 people who are still in their homes. clouds of ash continues to spew from the volcano. some plumes are rising up to 8,000 feet high. two people sky 7 over the scene at columbus avenue and vallejo street. two passengers had to be treated for smoke inhalation. the fire caused traffic delays along columbus during this evening's rush hour.

two fishermen are doing fine after being pulled to safety from their sinking boat. it started taking on water near the benicia port. a chp helicopter happened to be nearby and went in to help. the two fishermen were pulled up to the chopper one by one and they weren't hurt. the chp says the boat will be recovered at high tide. you can still get a ticket for the of feshl warriors watch party happening later at oracle arena. >> the dubs in houston for pivotal game five of the western conference finals. thousands will pack or ak curveball arena for the watch party. the best of seven series is tied 2-2. tickets are $20 on warriors.com. a portion of proceeds will be donated to the aag community foundation. tip-off is at 6:00 p.m. you're never more than seven minutes away from my accuweather forecast. another late night for us here on the morning show. go warriors.

let's talk about temperatures. we're in the mid 50s everywhere. 53 to 55 degrees. not much of a spread across our inland east bay neighborhoods. if you're heading to the bay bridge toll plaza, look how dry it is. that's the big story with the commute. it's going to be dry today if you're driving. a small craft advisory if you're out on the water north of the bay bridge. here is a look at san francisco over the next 12 hours starting at 10:00. you can see mostly cloudy conditions every single day with temperatures mainly in the mid 50s, 54 to 56. as you get closer to the bay, temperatures a little warmer in the upper 50s. down in the south bay, look at the clouds dominate once again like they have just about every day this week. we start at 57 at 8:00, jumped to 61 at 10:00. by noon we're at 67, hanging out in the upper 60s through 4:00 down to about 60 by 8:00. the big story we've been following all week, the anticipation of starting the holiday weekend with wet weather is still out there with a 30% chance today, a 60% chance

tomorrow. an hour-by-hour look at that and some 90s creeping into the forecast next week. those are some big changes on the way. this morning, dryer, fingers crossed we have a better commute. >> this is ironic. we're dry in most areas, flooding once again in san jose. we had this issue last week, last wednesday. it looks like they're having the same problem with some pumps. this is southbound 280 at state route 87. a sig alert issued. the far right lane is blocked due to this flooding. last time it was due to a water main break. not sure if it broke once again. chp saying it is a similar issue and fully blocking the connector to state route 87. so southbound and northbound you can't take that direction. you'll have to continue south on 280 or take an alternate north of that area. i will definitely keep a close eye on this. that was a huge issue last wednesday. westbound 580 before north flynn, we have a big problem here, a crash involving a motorcycle and a u-haul truck. that is blocking the left lane

cooler afternoon, tonight, light rain and showers develop this time tomorrow morning. it's going to be slick once again. summer heat is looking more likely, at least in the inland neighborhoods as we head through next week. upper 50s to low 60s, san francisco, richmond, oakland. upper 60s to near 70 in the south bay and east bay valleys. here is a look at what's going to happen tonight. no change there. look at the green on the map. that's the drizzle to light rain that's going to develop from this area of low pressure that will roll through tonight, through saturday morning to keep our pattern unsettled, unsettled enough that we have a storm impact scale for the spotty showers that will drop less than .10. here we are thursday, tonight, you head through tomorrow morning, you can see it looks pretty wet. that's going to hang out through the entire morning commute and will turn to a chance of scattered showers as we head through the rest of the day and into the evening hours.
