the commute this morning. a couple of significant issues to get to. the first one, flooding once again. the same pump issue we had last week. it's happening again. southbound 280 at state route 87. that's a sig alert. caltrans on the way to the scene. the right line on the mainline is blocked along with the connector to northbound and southbound 87. it caused massive delays last week. we're also seeing major delays out of tracy, westbound 580 before north flynn road. we've got a crash involving a motorcycle. one lane is blocked. so far just a stackup in the cash lanes for the bay bridge toll plaza. no metering lights yet. oops, a strange accident at sfo saw an international flight clip the side of a building as it came into the gate. >> fortunately no one was hurt but plenty of people left angry. abc 7 news reporter matt keller live at sfo. good morning, matt. >> reporter: good morning, natasha. big oops but thankfully no one was injured.

out on that plane yesterday got bad news late last night. their flight was canceled. here is why. sky 7 captured the unusual site of the jet clipping a post. it happened as it was being towed to its arrival gate. the tractor operator apparently misjudged the distance resulting in some damage to the tip of the plane's right wing. the airbus 330 was supposed to fly back to dublin a couple hours later. delays, delays, delays until finally late last night it was canceled. >> trusting that their processes and the engineers will not let us fly if there's anything actually wrong with the plane. really, i'll just be grateful if i make it there in one piece. >> reporter: air ling guess issued a statement saying a full investigation into the incident is under way. they continued with, guests will be accommodated on an alternative flier.

aer lingus apologized. matt keller, abc 7 news. 5:03. pappa murphy's facing a third lawsuit in northern california after an e. coli outbreak blamed on romaine lettuce. a customer claims she became severely ill after eating a salad at a pappa murphy's in al moment and later tested positive for e. coli. pappa murphy's says it pulled the affected lettuc when a federal warning was issued. the company added it deeply sympathize with the families impacted. police in oakland are still looking for the person who shot and killed a man during a possible home invasion robbery this week. authorities say someone broke into the home on kerrington street nooer 41st avenue. when officers got there, they found a resident suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. sky 7 flew over a house in san francisco around 4:30 around

parker avenue near the university of san francisco campus. a fire displaced four people. one person suffered smoke inhalation. 49ers linebacker reuben foster could rejoin the team today after a judge dismissed dms violence charges against him. abc news was in san jose as he walked out of court. he didn't comment but did flash a thumbs upside. his ex-girlfriend recanted her story saying she wanted to ruin his career after he broke up with her. john lynch ss foster's place on the team is one that must continue to be earned. he still faces a misdemeanor gun charge. a statement released in part says, we are disappointed because the evidence demonstrated that mr. foster seriously hurt his girlfriend. some have wondered why we think mr. foster hurt his girlfriend when she now says he didn't. recantation is common in domestic violence victims. colin kaepernick kneeled

during the national anthem to protest racial en justice. >> nearly two years later nfl owners approved a policy to fine anyone who doesn't stand for the anthem. 49ers editor jed york was the only one to abstain from the voting. >> the team didn't address the policy at last night's state of the franchise policy. >> reporter: the fanfare was just as loud outside as it was inside the venue for the 9ers' state of the franchise. team leadership discussed what fans have to look forward to this upcoming season, but were mum on the nfl's new national anthem policy. >> still pretty early on. i'm not sure what i'm going to be doing. >> reporter: under the new rule, any kplar who comes out onto the field during the anthem must stand. otherwise the team will get fined. players do have the option of staying inside the locker room instead. wheel players we talked with

let's move on and talk about what's going on at the golden gate bridge. definitely drier than yesterday. going to the beaches, you'll see a little sunshine and not as much of the mist and drizzle if any that we dealt with yesterday. if you're out and about today, grab the sunglasses. the clouds will open for more sneen. clouds will open for more sunshine from time to time and still going to be pretty breezy north of the bay bridge. you can see the area in yellow from 3:00 this after none to 10:00 this evening. southwest winds gusting up to 35 miles per hour. peninsula, today your temperatures will be stuck in the mid to upper 50s from 8:00 to 10:00. in the afternoon, low to mid 60s through 4:00. notice how dry it was, same thing in the north bay, a little more sunshine. bt temperatures, because of the breezes, still stuck in the low 60s for most of the afternoon hours. book ended by mid 50s at 8:00 this morning and 8:00 this evening. we've got a one on the storm impact scale. it comes in tonight. more on that coming up.

here is alexis. >> not a fun morning if you're trying to get out of the central valley. i know it normally is not. we've got an extra headache today. westbound 580 before north flynn. we have a crash involving a u-haul truck and a motorcycle. sounds like a pretty large emergency response is on the scene. you know the drill. gridlock all the way back over the 205 down to six miles an hour. looking at about an hour and a half right now. ace rail is an option. southbound 280 at 87, a pump issue once again. a sig alert issued, not as widespread as last wednesday morning yet. the far right lane blocked along with the connector to 87. a poll just released shows lieutenant governor gavin newsom is maintaining his lead in the race for california governor. >> the interesting part is the republican challenger who is surging. take a look. according to the public policy ens tut, newsom still leads with 25% among likely voters.

the refund by the end of july. apple's ambitious plans for a self driving car has a new partner. volkswagen. the tech giant signed a deal with vw to produce self driving versions of its t-6 transporter van. initial plans call for that self-driving vehicle to serve as a campus shuttle for apple employees. this super secret project has run into some hurdles including the lack of a commercial plan beyond the vance. uber says it is ending self driving car operations in arizona. it has laid off 300 workers. uber previously suspended operations of autonomous vehicles following a crash in martha killed a woman who was hit while crashing the street in th company says it plans to revive self driving cars in pittsburgh, pennsylvania, this summer. consumer groups calling for a boycott of netflix after it announced a production deal would be taking place with former president obama and his wife. >> the #boycottnetflix was

we are hearing we might have the two right lanes blocked on the mainline. matt keller moving to the scene. we should have sky 7 overhead shortly, too, and have a better look at that situation. so not good here for thening commute. also really rough start out of tracy, westbound 580 into castro valley. check that out. 2:352 from an earlier crash. no delays on northbound 101 through san jose or northbound 280 into san francisco. we've learned that police have arrested a suspected purse snatcher. i want to show you the man that they were looking for. this is the person they believe hurt a 93-year-old woman. actually robbed two women and hurt both of those folks. the 93-year-old we're told still is in the hospital. witnesses say he knocked her to the ground outside the bank of america at the sun valley shopping center last friday. police made last it in's arrest in the central valley city of patterson. those police and authorities

will be working with concord police on this case. back to you. commuters know it well, the traffic nightmare crossing the altamont pass into the bay area. we hear it every day from alexis. now b.a.r.t. plans to look at the solution. >> today the board is considering another big expansion east to livermore. abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield is live at the dublin-pleasanton station. >> reporter: hi, natasha. we're getting a very positive response from commuters when we ask them about a possible livermore extension. the b.a.r.t. board will discuss a few options today, a new b.a.r.t. station in livermore. that would cost $1.6 billion. another option is a light rail bus-like extension. that would be cheaper and they have the money for it. but it's estimated the b.a.r.t. station would get more cars off the road. either way commuters say a ride from livermore would be a huge improvement to their day. >> that would definitely help me out, yeah. my commute is probably about ten minutes right now.

but i mean make that five minutes. it means a difference, especially in the afternoon commute. it makes a huge difference. >> reporter: b.a.r.t. is already extendings further east on highway 4, the antioch extension is set to open saturday. that should bring a huge relief to that congested highway. people here along interstate 580, this corridor, they say it's their turn, hoping to hear the b.a.r.t. board votes today to extend to livermore. another option iso vote to do nothing. we even keep you posted on how the vote goes. live in dublin, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. >> while on the subject of b.a.r.t., the board of directors to take the first step in bringing wi-fi to its platforms. our media partner, the board is expected to approve an exclusive negotiating agreement to provide wi-fi to bart stations and its platforms. it includes cell service for muni metro subway stations in san francisco. b.a.r.t. and muni officials have six months to reach a deal with

the wi-fi company. it would take a few years to install the hardware. happening today, the california supreme court is expected the rule whether facebook and other social media companies must turn over user content to criminal defendants. two murder suspects in san francisco requested video and other content posted to facebook and instagram by the victim and a witness. those murder suspects claim the constitutional right to a fair trial entitles them to the material to prepare for their case. attorneys for facebook and instagram say a federal privacy law prevents the release of user content. terminally ill patients in california cannot get a prescription for life ending drugs for now. yesterday an appeals court decided not to reinstate the right to die law while it goes through the appeals process the attorney general will have a chance to argue in favor of it. earlier this month a lower court decided the law was passed illegally. a new report finds that

two fishermen are okay this morning after they got pulled to safety from their sinking boat. it started taking on water near the benicia port yesterday afternoon. a chp helicopter happened to be nearby and went in to respond. the two fishermen were pulled to the chopper one by one. they were not hurt. the chp says the boat will be recovered at high tide. you're never more than seven minutes away from your accuweather forecast. let's jump in to talk about temperatures. daly city at 50. 54 at half moon bay. 55 at san bruno. same thing on the east bayshore into the south bay. we have low to mid 50s just about everywhere else. here is a look at the san mateo bridge. looking much drier than yesterday. still plenty of cloud cover out there. you can see the haze as we look off towards the west. driving today, bad to good, green, because it is dry. cool to mild this morning. nothing changed in mass transit. caution if you're out on the water. the ferries, they don't get as

influenced as much as maybe a smaller craft. that's why they call it a small craft advisory 3:00 this afternoon to 10:00 this evening. east bay valleys, upper 70s to r 80. by noon at65. only mid 60s to near 70 this afternoon. back down to 59 at 8:00 while it's still dry. east bayshore line is going to be a little cooler, 56 at 8:00. notice a little more sunshine than yesterday. we still hold on to the low to mid 60s throughout the afternoon hours because of the breeze. by 8:00, it is still dry. in fact, our best chance of raen is going to happen about this time tomorrow morning. but we'll start with a 30% coverage tonight, leading to about 60% of us receiving rain tomorrow. if i put it out there, mainly the south bay would be the 40% that does it. i'll show you all that in the hour-by-hour forecast. how is the morning commute going today? >> not so great. a couple of pretty significant issues. head back down to the south bay, flooding once again. this pump issue, same thing we
