the morning commute. tapering at 4:00 and even a break in the clouds is possible. watch out for some rainbows with these showers. by 7:00, the chance really starts to taper. you might want to have an umbrella with you just in case. those temperatures starting in the low to mid 50s this morning. staying in the mid to upper 50s at the coast. low to mid 60s for the rest of us. even if you don't get wet today, it's going to be another chilly day. we have another semi fire. i don't believe that was started with a crash. northbound 880 before heg enberger. we had all lanes of the nimitz closed for about 20 minutes. just a ton of smoke. i'm not sure what that semi was hauling, but everyone did make it out of the semi okay. two lanes are open. two lanes are closed.

delays can be up to three times more than normal. people in san francisco, here is your big tip of the morning. busiest time to travel is going to be this afternoon from 3:00 to 5:30. it will be busy at the airports as well. san jose's airport will be filled with holiday travels and people coming in for graduations this weekend. they expect a 17% increase in travelers compared to last year. the trains will be packed. amtrak is expecting 320,000 customers over the next week. live in san jose, matt keller, abc 7 news. let's get back to the breaking news i mentioned at 4:30. breaking news, harvey weinstein has just turned himself in to police in new york. the infamous hollywood producer reportedly being charged with rape. you see him here. he just walked into the nypd precinct. we will know definitely the charges against him once he appears in court this morning. we expect the charges to be that

he raped one woman and forced another to perform oral sex on him. this comes after a seven-month investigation by police. these are the first criminal charges against wean stein since dozens of women came forward. he's also under investigation in los angeles and london. we just saw him walk in. you see him here in a blue sweater. what happens now? after this he'll go to court and will be arraigned on those charges and we expect a high bail to be set. aer lingus passengers at sfo stranded for 24 hours just landed in dublin, ireland. they were delayed after a plane clipped a wing after landing wednesday. mny passengers were trying to make it in time for a historic vote. nbc reporter katy ute tis has the story. >> reporter: too wide of a turn caused the plane to clip its wing. the collision stranded passengers overnight wednesday

we look westbound from san mateo bridge this morning. caution driving, caution mass transit, caution ferry ride for the wet weather we'll be dealing with today. here is a look at the south bay. we've got a chance of showers with our best chance peaking right around 2:00. notice our temperatures in the low 60s just about all day. east bay valleys, a chance of a scour just about any time with temperatures in the low to mid 60s. now, let's take a look at what's going to happen with this system. what we'll have are a chance of showers not only today, but this will also linger through the overnight hours. tomorrow we'll start to see clearing and get the summer warmth in the forecast for sunday and monday. you or off to a busy start also. >> we definitely have a lot going right now. i want to take a look at video once again. this is that semi that jackknifed and caught fire on eastbound 80 in the crockett area just before you get to the

car keen flas bridge. this crash happened around 2:00 this morning. we're hearing they possibly had to bring in a medical helicopter. i do believe we have injuries to that driver. also seeing backup shots. that was from a couple hours ago. things were getting better for a brief time. we just clarified with chp, they were able to open one lane from that semi crash. however, as soon as they did that, there was a second crash just past that semi fire and they have all lanes shut down once again. you can see that purple on our traffic maps. that means no traffic is getting through. you can see the backup approaching the scene. at about a 15, 20-minute delay and obviously no one getting through. you can use cummings sky way or highway 4 to the benicia bridge to get around this. it is more than just welcome back in one santa rosa neighborhood. this new home marks a big milestone. president trump ordered

the storm reaches beyond our border in the bay area with thunderstorms possible acrs the sierra. heavy rain. a flood watch starts at 5:00 this morning through about 11:00 this evening. if you're heading up that way, debris and mud flows, minor street flooding possible. 5:00 this morning to 5:00 tomorrow morning. about one to three inches of snow is possible. down in so cal they don't have to worry about it though. 68 in san diego and l.a. anywhere fresno northward, you can run intervally rain and mountain snow. possibility of thunderstorms antsz even small hail. my accuweather seven-day forecast, this will lenger through tomorrow in tahoe. i promise you sunshine for the rest of the holiday and into next week. happening today, santa rosa will celebrate the completion of the first rebuilt home followig last october's north bay wildfires.

a colossal waste of resources. the border patrol saw no benefit from last month's deployment. he said previous deployments helped alleviate the workload. the union previously endorsed the campaign and praised the president's border security efforts. mcdonald's shareholders decided not to take a step against banning plastic straws. the proposal received less than 8% of the vote at mcdonald's annual shareholder meeting yesterday. mcdonald's says it is working to find a more sustainable solution for plastic straws and adopted come postable straws in certain markets. if you see someone that looks like former president trump around town, it's probably him. he's been in san francisco. someone in the public defender's office snapped this photo outside the adobe building in soma yesterday. the office posted the peck tour. according to a specs person mr. obama jokingly said get back to

out of the clouds. let's take a closer look, if you will, from about san francisco, oakland south ward. spotty showers with heaviest shower sitting on 92 between half moon bay and san mateo. this is rotating up to the north. 101 to 280, slick 580 and 880 from oakland, wet spots there, also. here we are at 7:00 all the way through noon. can see the lows sitting on top of us waves in light showers. during the evening hours they will taper a little bit. we could see a little sunshine late this afternoon into the evening hours. watch out for rainbows. overnight a cold front sweeps dunn. a few showers left at about midnight and one or two about 8:00 in the morning. mainly around the high country on either side of the santa clara valley. increasing sunshine and quite breezy tomorrow. temperatures starting to rebound

from the 50s and 60s today, a few 70s tomorrow. the 70s spread from inland to the baby sunday. then 90s monday inland, 80 around the bay. mid 60s at the coast. we'll keep it around for tuesday. the much cooler weather rolling in for wednesday or thursday. with the slick streets out there, let's find out if there's any other issues to deal with trafficwise. >> right now dealing with a couple of truck fires, mike. let's take a look at one of the problems. this one on 880 in oakland, the northbound side of the nimitz right before you get to hegenberger. this semi made it to the shoulder. that trailer was smoking and then became fully engulfed. it sounds like everyone made it out of the semi okay.okay.okay. our current situation we've got two out of four lanes lanes lanl obviously probably have to off-load the semi and get all that gear off there before they can totally clear the roadway.

warmer weather. again, this is santa cruz which is going to be the warmest of our beaches this weekend with temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s sunday and monday. peninsula and the north bay coast will be in the low to mid 60s with a little more cloud cover. let's get another check on that commute. it's been busy this morning. >> not the start we wanted to the holiday weekend, mike. we've got a couple major issues to talk about. want to head up to the crockett area now. eastbound 80 just before you get to the carquinez bridge, started about 1:20 this morning. we had full closure of that freeway for about two hours. we got one lane back open. as soon as that happens, we had another two-car crash past that truck fire scene. here is the latest. the secondary crash has cleared to the shoulder. one lane is open past the semi that caught fire. if you can't keep all that straight, don't worry, i'll keep giving you updates. bottom line, you can get through this area, however it might be better to use highway 4 instead.
