3 in grease. tesla says the car was not certified for those conditions. >> live with more on this, lisa? >> reporter: from millbray, and he admits he loves all things new that involve tech, and he's loved his teslas that is until what happened last night in grease. he wanted to introduce as many people as possible to tesla's model 3 which won't be available in much of europe until next year sometime. he's traveled 39,000 kilometers through 29 countries and used the auto pilot feature throughout most of the trip. and while using it in grease he claims it malfunctioned by forcing him to crash into a barrier at an exit he had no intention of taking. >> also acknowledged that the mistake that needs to be corrected is due to bad software by tesla, software that can be described as hazardous. the software as i've learned the

hard way is very capable of swerving the car. >> tesla releelsed this statement saying, quote, why we appreciate his effort to spread the word, he was informed tesla does not have a pres europe or grease and there's no connectivity service there. he admits he had just one hands on the wheel and was looking at his phone's navigation system when the crash happened. the car had front wheel damage and had to be towed. he was not hurt. right now he is trying to figure out where whether he say get the tesla fixed in europe, pay to have it shipped back home or just leave it back and fly back to the bay area. a driver reportedly slammed his car into two people outside

a bar in mountain view pinning a woman. police responded around 3:00 in the morning to find three people injured. witnesses said it started as an argument in the bar and outside one hit the driver. the woman and all three people were taken to the hospital. police want to talk to more witnesses to figure out exactly what happened. an east bay water slide is back open this weekend and it's the same water slide that left a 10-year-old boy injured after he hid hidroplaned off of last memorial day weekend. >> reporter: this water slide, we are at the wave water park and this water slide and the park about to close if the day. it was chilly for most of the morning here in dublin. but one year after a scary

accident families showed up and wanted to try out the new emerald plunge. for several hours the emerald plunge water slide was empty. no takers. >> none of them will go down the slide. they're all afraid. >> reporter: but parent mike mugnashy was the first to splashdown on opening day of the water slide. mike says he had no fear. >> none, whatsoever. it's totally safe. i went down it and i felt totally safe. >> reporter: but convincing his n to ride was a different story. he declined. the scary incident caught on camera and happened on opening day 2017 at the city owned and operated the wave water park. jamie suffered these injuries on his back. his father recalled what employees told him after the accident last year. >> we tested the water slide for

height but we didn't test it for weight. >> reporter: the city sued them for $2.5 million in damages. the family's attorney says they settled with all sides this year. the city says the suit against them was dismissed. today the officials say the 48-foot emerald plunge slide and an adjacent slide which also closed are now safe. >> yes, the slides have been recertified. we went through expensive testing. >> reporter: the city says the biggest safety change was lowering the water level at the base of the slide. 11-year-old alex was the first kid to try it out. >> it felt awesome. >> reporter: other kids were not far behind to take the plunge. >> well, the day kind of started out cloudy but as you saw cleared up this afternoon. and tonight will remain clear and the holiday weekend will be getting better.

meteorologist drew tooma tells us more. >> from here on out numbers are going to quickly warm tomorrow, especially monday. right now the trends for the 24-hour temperature change, everyone across the board is warmer. but that slow clearing of the cloud cover earlier this morning means this afternoon we're not all that warm for may numbers. kind of stuck in the 60s and low 70s across the board. but warmer weather is on the way. taking a look at the rest of the holiday weekend, tomorrow morning is a brighter start. and that early morning sunshine means monday warm to hot cross the entire region. uv index running very high the next couple of days. how hot we get where you live in a few minutes. lava from hawaii's kilauea volcano is flowing hotter, faster and now shooting higher into the air. that's according to the usgs which says the volatility is expected. the oozing lava and high

in met with north korean leader kim jong-un on saturday. talking about how to keep the u.s.-north korea summit on track. trump explained his decision to cancel the meeting in a letter on thursday citing hostile comments from north korean officials and concern about their commitment to denuclearization. north korea responded to trump a few hours later saying in part they're willing to meet with the u.s. at any time and in anyway. >> we're going to esee what happens. >> reporter: the next day on friday trump hinted the summit was still on the table. tweeting about productive talks. white house press secretary sarah sanders said the administration will be prepared for a meeting on june 12th. >> again, the president wants to have a meeting if it can provide real results. and that's what he's said all along. >> reporter: despite the last few days of mixed messages a group of white house officials are heading to singapore this weekend to prepare for the

the fourth man ever to walk on the moon has died. allen bean passed away this morning in houston following a recent illness. in 1969 piloting the apollo 12, the second face craft to land on the moon. bean spent 69 orbiting the earth and 39 hours on the moon. he was 86 years old. a bakersfield man and his brother were detained by immigration agents this week accused of being in the country illegally and being members of a street gang. they were taken into custody tuesday and due to be deported

back to their native mexico. a family lawyer says i.c.e. has made a terrible mistake. >> we think it's entirely possible that i.c.e. mistook him and saw the same name and made assumptions that they should not have made. i'd be very surprised if we find out that is not the case. >> the attorney is now demanding an apology and the brothers be released. the agency said in a statement both brothers have criminal convictions for violent offenses. a mother has launched a petition to stop sales of a video game called "active shooter." already received more than 5,500 shooters. it has members of a swat team trying to stop another team of a school shooter. she believes the game is in poor taste. >> it's not okay to do it in a

students in the east bay are being challenged this weekend to work together and work on their teamwork skills to finish a long race. abc 7 news was at oakland tech where the students are taking part in a 24-hour relay challenge. it all started at 10:00 a.m. today and will end at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow. students will team up to walk or run the high school's track for 24 hours testing their ability to work with each other. the event is in its 14th year is sponsored by the ever forward club. in the age of smart phones a

we're just soaked in sunshine this saturday evening. and although that sun is out there, that slow clearing of the cloud cover again really hurt us in terms of warming us. 67 currently in san jose. 62 in hayward. right now antioch 72 degrees. over the next 12 hour, what you'll notice clear skies for the majority of the region. that marine layer is compressed. that low cloud cover pretty much confined to the immediate coastline. so for many of us starry skies the next 12 hours and temperatures in the mid-40s to mid-50s. your 12 hour p p warming us up. we're well into the 70s in a lot of spots and into the afternoon by 4:00. inland going into the 80s. around the bay mid-70s and along the coast into the mid-60s. a lot warmer tomorrow afternoon than it feels right now.

68 the high in san francisco tomorrow. going to a high of 70 in oakland, 80 in san jose. warm in the south bay tomorrow. 81 in santa rosa, 83 in concord, and fremont up to a high of 70 degrees. if you are headed to napa for the final day of bottle rock, certainly the best day out of the three-day event tomorrow. 11:00 in the morning, 70 degrees already. pie 2:00 a warm breeze gets us to 77. and 4:00 in the afternoon we are bright and mild with a temperature of about 82 degrees, so enjoy. those numbers will just continue to warm even more as we head into the day on monday. look at this memorial day itself, this is going to feel very warm across the region. we've been stuck in the 60s and 70s for the most part, so these numbers headed our way monday are certainly going to feel very warm. a high of 77 in santa rosa. and san francisco a mild 74 degrees. and we will likely achieve those
