normal service no delays for san francisco bay ferry. hearing about a new crash in the tri-valley. we'll head there next. breaking news from the abc 7 live desk. there has just been an attack in belgium in the city of l liege, southeast of the capital of brussels. tlae people dead including two police officers. we did just get new video into the newsroom. i want to you take a listen. you can hear several gunshots. and then you see people start to run following those gunshots. belgian officials say there are indications this was a terror attack. i have seen reports the attacker has been killed. the gunman at one point did take a woman hostage inside a school. there's a major investigation under way right now. when we get word definitively it was a terror attack or not i'll

two people killed in a plane crash in petaluma. the sister of the pilot identifies them as richard and sue bris .plane 800 feet in the air when the engine back fired and the plane suddenly bank to the right as it tried to return to the airport. instead it rapidly went down. >> it's 5:06. we're now hearing from tech experts about the malware attack impacting hundreds of thousands of home internet routers. fbi now urging people to reboot those routers because malware can affect everything used connected to the internet. here is abc 7 news reporter david louis. >> routers are gateways that connect you to the internet. a half million of them infected with malware called vpn affiliate ir. when commaned by outside source it can cut off connection, gather information and spread

malware. it's grown with proliferation of iot, internet of things. also connected to routers, door bellsp video cameras, door bells and devices like alexa. >> not just talking about computers and phones and cameras but door bells and lots of other devices connected to this router through the internet. >> fbi seized the website. the next step urging people to reboot routers to deactivate malware. rebooting requires unplugging for 30 seconds and plugging they will in. typically routers have no anti-virus protection. >> they are designed to be remotely accessed. in a sense these are houses with front doors that may be locked but not as securely as we like them to be because we have to let things in and out. >> the vulnerability far beyond home router. in a larger sense it can target

wow. chp meanwhile investigating an incident where one of the officers accused of using his car to knock down a motorcyclist in california. >> you're google to see this video, this happened sunday. chp cruiser drove through hundreds of bikers and tried to pull one of them over. the wanted biker slowed down, got behind the cruiser and took off. off the freeway at the intersection the cruiser appears to hit the biker and knocked him down. >> he knocked down the biker. it's not right. you can't compare four wheels to two wheels. >> chp says motorcyclist was targeted because he tried to pass a car on the right shoulder entering the freeway. he suffered bruised shoulder and back and was booked for felony evading. >> hi, everyone. i want to show you some live images coming in of santa fe high school. that's the scene of that latest school shooting. students there will be returning to school in just about an hour

or so. the first students who arrived will be those in the fine arts wing when the gunman opened fire 11 days ago. 10 people died, 13 others were injured. the school district said multiple law enforcement agencies will provide additional security today. there will be counselors on campus. the district said they are committed to a safe environment so the community can heal from this horrific ordeal. i'll watch live images and have an update when possible. >> san francisco dog rescue is stepping up to help dozens of canines whose owner passed away. members of the dog rescue walked 38 dogs into this new temporary home. their former owner died unexpectedly last week at her 10-acre ranch. friends say she had an affinity for senior dogs and helped them live longer. >> something in the water, something in the grass, i don't

they were trying to make a car stop when they took off. the families of two men shot and killed by san francisco police will hold a news currency. >> they will discuss district attorney's decision not to file charges against the officers involved. on thursday the d.a. announced the officers will not face criminal charges because under the law no crime was committed. the first shooting mario woods in december 2015. woods had meth in his system and was armed with a knife. the other shooting in april 2016. he was shot after police say he charged an officer with a kitchen knife. family members of both men will speak at 2:00 thb afternoon on the steps of the hall of justice. an update on a stabbing dolores park. investigators were called to investigate a fight sunday night. they found a man with stab wounds. he was taken to the hospital. he's expected to recover. police say they are investigating what caused the fight. new at 5:00 san francisco mayor mark farrell expected to
