biggest traffic issue as you head into the dublin pleasanton area. a little more traffic than normal westbound 580. we got the all clear about five, six minutes ago. all lanes back open before the 680 merge. that's, of course, where we had five-vehicle collision, a box truck that crashed into four vehicles. they were able to get that totally cleared this morning. a little stop and go traffic but honestly that's thinning out nicely. next traffic update coming up around 6:10. breaking news from the abc 7 live desk. breaking news in belgium. there's been an attack near brussels in the city of liege. you see it southeast of brussels. three people are dead including two police officers. we did get some new video. can yo actually hear the gunshots. take a listen. >> after those gunshots you see people start to run. belgian officials say there are

beloved lake county market. the market and hardware store is believed to be a total loss after the fire broke out yesterday. it took several hours to get this under control. that market had been serving customers in the community since 1943. the injured firefighter airlifted top the medical center for treatment. we now know the names of two people killed in a car crash petaluma yesterday. the sister of the pilot identifies them as richard and sue bristow. richard worked as a real estate agent. they told abc news the rb 6 was 800 feet in the air when the plane engine back fired. they banged to the right as if returning to the airport. instead it rapidly went down. the man accused of being golden state killer will be in the pulse courtroom. they want his arrest and search

welcome back. i want to show you live images out of texas. this is santa fe high school, the scene of the latest school shooting. you see that there are kids returning to school right now. there's a lot of folks out there waiting for their arrival holding signs. some of those signs say santa fe strong. these are the first students who arrive. the first students of the entire class will actually be some of the folks from te fine art department. that's where the gunman went in 11 days ago. i want to show you the video, a closer look at the folks standing outside. ten people diedp 13 others injured at that school. we know there will be extra law enforcement there today throughout the morning. i've been watching live images throughout the day and i'll let you know if anything notable happens. back to you. >> thanks so much, jessica. a st. francis dog rescue

facility in the mission district stepping up to help dogs whose owner passed away. they welcomed 38 dogs into the new temporary home. their former owner, you see her here, died unexpectedly last week at her 10-acre ranch. her friends say she had an affinity for senior dogs and helped them live longer. >> something in the water, something in the grass. i don't know. it prolonged their life and made them these happy little creatures that are wandering all over the place right now. >> once they are checked out by the vet, the dogs will be placed up for the don'tath adoptathon will be held this weekend located at the mission 205 alabama street. you might remember we placed a friendly bet with our "sister, sister" in houston before the western conference finals. >> you may remember their response was slightly aggressive.

$10 million in soda tax revenue for the next fiscal year. that money will be used to improve health of low income communities most impacted by sugary beverages. that includes healthy eating campaigns. voters approved in 2016. the mayor says it will provide a solution for obesity and heart disease in communities. a little known bay area university with unusually high number of students and u.s. work permits is now on the clock to prove it's not a mill. they have to produce more information about students and employers that hire them. this is the school's promotional video. if it fails to comply, the school could lose accreditation. according to research npu ranked first among all colleges of its type, nearly 12,000 over a 12-year period. >> some severe weather hitting

midwest and east coast. look at this tornado spotted in ohio yesterday afternoon. this morning residents in ellicott city, maryland, will be allowed to return to what's left of their homes after what's been called a 1,000 year storm. 300 people were rescued yesterday, but this morning the search continues for this man, a national guardsman who fell into the floodwaters while trying to help a woman search for her cat. even though they say it's a once in 1,000 year storm, it's actually hit in the past couple of years, two times. significant damage to the area both times. rebuilding residents and business owners did after the first storm is now gone. >> we've told them we're there to help them in any way possible, and with we greatly appreciate our federal partners to come and offer assistance and encouragement for all of us. >> officials are conducting damage assessment and trying to give people -- keep people out of harm's way. we have certainly quiet weather here, live doppler 7
