pilot had anything to do with with a tesla. a model s slammed into a police car in laguna beach. the officer was not the car when the crash happened. this is the third time this year. let's get a quick update on weather and traffic starting with meteorologist mike nicco. >> hi, everybody. let's set the table for what's going to happen today. you start by looking at the winds. 18 at sfo, 13 at oakland, 12 at hayward, gusting to 28 in concord, 33 in fairfield. all pointing back towards the high country. that means an onshore breeze is back. look at the dramatic drop in the temperatures today. no one needs to have the air conditioninger on today. starting off in the low to mid 50s at 7:00. we'll see increasing sunshine at noon. mid 50s to mid 60s. in about 64 and 68 around the

>> reporter: we know roseanne barr is no strange tore controversy. these latest comments, these tweets have put her and her entire cast out of a job. >> the revival of the hit show "roseanne" was canceled just hours after roseanne barr tweeted this, muslim brotherhood and planet of the apes had a baby, equals vj. the vj she's referring to is valerie jarrett, a former adviser to president obama. by tuesday morning barr's tweet had been deleted and replaced with, forgive me, my joke was in bad taste. the subject of the tweet, valerie jarrett responded. >> bob eiger who is the ceo of disney before the announcement. he apologized. he said he had zero tolerance for that sort of racist comment, and he wanted me to know before

he made it public that he was canceling the show. >> reporter: barr was back on twitter tuesday with another apology posting, don't feel sorry for me guys. i just want to apologize for the wonderful writers and talented actors who lost their jobs on my show due to my stupid tweet. streaming service hulu and other cable networks removed "roseanne" reruns and barr has been dropped from her talent agency. stephanie ramos, abc 7 news. on that note, roseanne said good night on twitter about an hour ago. she actually sent out two other tweets after that. she's been retweeting a lot of things throughout the night. the most notable thing she did overnight has been her response to her fellow co-worker sara gilbert and michael fishman.

the notable thing is her reply saying, quote, i created a platform for that inclusivity and you know it. me. you throw me under the bus. nice. she has also had some pretty controversial retweets throughout the night. mostly she spent the nights retweeting folks or defend her who say the backlash against roseanne was too harsh. duelling rallies in support and gonzales the june 5th recall vote for santa clara county judge aaron persky. supporters hold a rally in front of the law office of james mcmanus. a no recall hally held at 12:15 in front of a county recorder's office in downtown san jose. officials say judge persky may attend and speak at that rally. the recall effort was sparked by a controversial six-month sentence that he gave brock turner. the family of a teenage boy

severely injured in a hammer attack, several masked suspects entered a garage in aptos early monday morning and attacked three teenagers. one of the victims is 17-year-old alex, still in critical condition with head injuries. his family says he's alert and responsive after undergoing surgery. a family friend who did not want to be identified shared this photo. >> i've known him his whole light. he's a sweet kid. watching him fight for his life yesterday, that was one of the hardest days of my life. >> investigators think the attack was not random. a gofundme page has been set up to help alex's family with medical expenses and has raised almost half of its $50,000 goal so far. >> lava has caused,

east bay valleys and other areas should be warm. we'll struggle to get up near 70. evening temperature, sunshine and 60 at 8:00. in the nor way, 56 at 8:00, 70 at noon, mid 70s this afternoon. 60 and breezy at 8:00 with all that sunshine. this morning, maybe not so much on the roads in some spots. >> we have a trouble spot for sure. this is in the dublin area with a sig alert already. a big rig had its fuel tank ruptured due to some sort of an incide incident. we've got three lanes blocked now. abc 7's matt keller is out there. we'll check with him in a little bit. once they get caltrans on scene to clear this up, all the lanes

high desert there. it's going to get much warmer in tahoe. temperatures nearing 80 saturday and sunday once those breezes stop, and for monday and tuesday next week, low 70s. not too bad. i'm tracking the latest on north korea's meetings with the u.s. and russia. just hours ago russia announced its foreign minister will be visiting north korea tomorrow to discuss bilateral issues, and all this comes as a top north korean official is traveling to new york to meet with secretary of state mike pompeo, the highest nrkn official to visit the u.s. in two decades. they will try to salvage a plan between kim jong-un and president trump, that summit that's supposed to happen between the two leaders. last week the president canceled the june 12th summit in singapore. h has since suggested that the meeting could be back on. we are watching developments closely. reggie? >> thank you, jessica. a pair of bills to help protect people from wildfires

it's 60 degrees here, and it's 80 or 90 where they're from. maybe that will help a little bit. a look at the moon playing peekaboo this morning. you're looking at the exploratorium at pier 15. the cloud deck is not solid, but increasing right now thanks to the cooling sea breeze and the drops in temperatures today. mainly overcast tonight, we'll juice up the marine land a little bit. in the bay to inland, it's going to be warm to hot weekend. here is a look at what's going on upstairs. you can see that layer of clouds rolling through. that's a dry cold front helping produce that sea breeze. temperatures upper 60s to low 70s. peninsula today mid to upper 60s and breezy. breezy along the coast upper 50s to near 60. low to mitt 60s downtown.
