not exactly the way a lot of you wanted to wake up. >> i know you're tracking all the issues this is causing. first let's get to abc 7 news reporter matt keller live on the scene. >> caltrans has arrived. they're going to sweep these lanes and clean up that diesel fuel. chp told me they will have to temporarily close southbound 680 while they do that. they'll start that soon.

the good news right now, three lanes are open. this is the fuel tank being removed from under his truck. about 70 gallons spilled for about 3/4 mile. the driver said he heard a pop at about 2:00 this morning. chp is hoping it won't take long before caltrans starts getting cleaned up. they were estimating maybe an hour. they'll do some of the sweeping out in the road where the traffic is going right now. once they're done with that, they'll get this normal break here with these three lanes, come back and clean this area. that means the media will have to move from this area, too. that is going to happen shortly. live in dublin, matt keller, abc news. >> sue, it sounds like it's going to get worse before it gets better. >> right.

the bay and inland. that's when the breezes start to kick in. mid 50s at the coast, mid 60s to are the rest of us. grab a coat if you're heading out at 7:00, temperatures in the mid to upper 50s. cooler weather for tomorrow before a warming trend this weekend. i'll have that coming up. there are new developments coming in this morning on the attack in eastern belgium yesterday. it's now being called a terror murder. we learned overnight the attacker who killed two police officers and a bystander also killed another person the day before the attack. all this happened while the attacker was on a two-day release from prison. the shooter, benjamin herman apparently shouted allahu akbar during the attack. he took a woman hostage. the belgian foreign minister says the woman may have helped to stop the attack.

we do have an update on a firefighter injured dug this fire. justin costa remains hospitalized at the uc davis burn center in sacramento and is in fair condition. he's alert and talking. the fire broke out at the market on monday. the market served customers for 75 years and the cause is under investigation. a massive protest at an egg farm near petaluma led to dozens of arrests. animal activists stormed the sunrise farm facility to rescue hens. police arrested 40 activists for protesting. the protesters say they have evidence of animal cruelty. they provided photos to us, but the photos don't clearly show a location and could not be verified. sunrise farms has not responded to our request for comments.

a purse snatcher pleaded not guilty to three charges. otto halafihi is accused accused stealing purses from three women earlier this month. he could face charges for armed robbery at a fremont lowe's. state lawmakers are calling for investigations into contracts awarded for work in the alum rock school district. parents say school board members may be the ones with something to hide. here is abc 7 news reporter katie utehs. >> reporter: under screwed any by the school board again. >> clear as mud. >> reporter: the parents and teachers who packed this board room are supporting dr. hill lar yeah bower. they say her employment has been threatened eight times. >> we have a superintendent doing a phenomenal job.

>> reporter: the county office of investigation has investigated the east san jose district for alleged fraud involving a no bid contractor the district hired to do millions of dollars in construction work. the d.a.'s office has an open investigation, too. at a rally today, the board president spoke to the issue. >> why is it taking so long? hard to say. but as a lawyer myself, i can tell you, had there been something untoward, it would have come out by now. >> this is from the registrar voters office. >> reporter: parents point to campaign contributions made allegedly made by the contractor in question. >> it's fishy. this is hundreds and hundreds of miles away that somebody is donating for a school board candidacy in east san jose. >> reporter: the board gave no explanation, but the parents say

it's going to be a windy night also with winds coming out of the west gusting to 30, 35 miles per hour. san francisco today, mid 50s through noon when we finally see a little sunshine. upper 50s through 4:00, back in the mid 50s with increasing clouds by 8:00. we'll take one look at the peninsula where we have cloud cover decreasing by noon. mostly sunny, 61. in the mid 60s in the afternoon hours. at 8:00, still around 57 degrees. do you miss the 90s already? i have them coming back in the accuweather seven-day forecast. a live shot right now southbound 680 before diablo boulevard, before the dublin interchange. you can see those right lanes are still flared off. we had a diesel spill. a big rig somehow ruptured its gas tank and it lasted for about a mile or so. that spill is in the cleanup process. as you can see, the traffic is getting by fine in the left lanes. they may have to shut down those lanes as well and that will gum

up your commute. san ramon valley boulevard will be a great alternate southbound. right now it looks like 680 is moving fine. we'll check back in with abc 7's matt keller who will be on the scene shortly. we now know what caused a muni derailment that led to major issues friday. transportation issues say a mechanical issue related to a suspension unit under the train led to the derailment. it led to systemwide delaysaysas during the morning commute. muni officials say they'll review practices to make sure it doesn't happen again. a recall for birth control pills. >> new details about the food delivery row bats dropping off meals for c

the day of training came in response to this video of two men being arrested at a philadelphia store in april. the men were waiting for a business associate to show up when the manager called police. abc 7 news was outside a closed starbucks in san francisco yesterday. >> so horrible. that would require a lot more than one day's training. >> about 175,000 employees took pa in that training. san francisco mayor mark farrell wants the city to be prepared when the next doubt hits. he's asking the board of supervisors to require that five city departments create a plan cutting water usage by 20%. they would have to be ready to do so when there is a shortage. the ordinance would ensure the government is taking appropriate action. the board is scheduled to review that proposal on tuesday. donations pouring in to support the indiana middle school teacher who stopped a school shooter. this morning the gofundme

the bay. by noon the breezes kick in and it will become mostly sunny just about everywhere even at e coast and expect mostly sunny conditions this afternoon. by 7:00, look at the clouds making an early trance onto the peninsula and eventually taking over all of us tonight. look at the temperatures in san francisco. mainly upper 50s, downtown 62, mission 60, south san francisco 63 as warm as it gets. on the east bayshore line, mid to upper 60s, breezy and 65 in oakland. temperatures back below average and no more warmth of the peninsula. look at this. mid to upper 60s on the coast. 60 at half moon bay. palo alto about 68 degrees. in the south bay, back below average with 71 in san jose, about 68 in milpitas. sunnyvale some of the coolest spots. in our inland east bay

missouri governor greet tense stepped down after allegations with an ex-mistress. alex perez has the details. >> reporter: missouri governor eric greitens buckling under pressure, unable to survive the bipartisan criticism that began swirling after he was charged with felony invasion of privacy. those charges are stemming from an affair before he was governor. the woman accused him of taking a partially nude photo of her and threatening to distribute it if she told anyone of their sexual encounters. greitens admitted to the affair but denied any wrongdoing. >> this ordeal has been designed to cause an incredible amount of strain on my family. >> reporter: raters never found the alleged picture and those charges were dismissed. in a separate case where he was accused of illegally obtaining a charity's donor list to fundraise, the prosecutor saying a statement, she has reached a resolution.

trending in san francisco as a result. abc news reporter stephanie ramos live in washington with the latest. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, natasha and reggie. after roseanne posted the initial tweet, she's tweeted many more times apologies and critiqued her castmates. in the end she is out of a job and so is her entire cast. >> reporter: the revival of the hit show "roseanne" was canceled hours after roseanne barr tweeted this, muslim brotherhood and planet of the apes had a baby, equals vj. the vj she's referring to is valerie jarrett, a former adviser to president obama. by tuesday morning her tweet had been deleted and replaced with an apology saying, for gifr me, my joke was in bad taste. her tweet outraged fans but also her own castmates. meanwhile, the subject of the

tweet, valerie jarrett, responded on msnbc. >> bob eiger, the ceo of disney called me before the announcement. he apologized. he said he had zero tolerance for that sort of racist, bigoted comment and he wanted me to know before he made it public that he was canceling the show. >> reporter: barr was back on twitter late tuesday with another apology posting, don't feel sorry for me, guys. i want to apologize to the hundreds of people and wonderful writers, all liberal and talented actors who lost their jobs due to my stupid tweet. >> reporter: this morning we've seen tweets from roseanne saying her castmates threw her under the bus. hulu and other carriers are removing "roseanne" reruns. she's also been dropped from her talent agency.

live from washington, stephanie ramos, abc 7 news. >> stephanie, thank you. i'm going to jump in here and add a little more on to what stephanie said. roseanne, she said good night on twitter about two hours ago. since then she's retweeted about five other things. she really spent the night retweeting and also responding to some of her fellow co-workers. sara gilbertnd michael fishman. they both condemned roseanne's actions yesterday. this is fishman's tweet. he wrote several paragraphs. overnight roseanne wrote back saying i created a platform for that inclusivity and you know it. me. you throw me under the bus. nice. she also has some pretty controversial retweets. mostly she spent the night retweeting folks who either defend her or say the backlash against roseanne was too harsh.

>> i don't know what's going on with her. happening today, two consumer groups will call for a new investigation into tesla and its auto pilot feature. >> demanding the dmv investigate what they call tesla's misleading and deceptive marketing practices. they say elon musk is making people believe his cars are fully ougautonomous. no response so far from tesla. southern california police investigating if auto pilot had anything to do with this crash involving a tesla. a model s slammed into a parked police car in laguna beach. the tesla driver had minor injuries. fortunately the officer was not in the car when the crash happened. this is the third time this year a tesla reported to be on auto pilot has hit a parked emergency vehicle. the family of the teenage boy injured in a hammer attack credits a fast emergency response with saving his life. several suspects entered a

garage and attacked three teens. one of the victims is a 17-year-old boy named alex. he's still in critical injuries with head injuries. his family says he's now alert and responsive after undergoing surgery. a family friend who didn't want to be identified shared this photo with us. >> i've known him his whole life. he's a sweetheart, a good kid. watching him fight for his life yesterday that was one of the hardest days of my life. >> detectives say the suspect stole several items. a gofundme page has been set up to help alex's family with medical expenses. you can see it's now raised more than half of its $50,000 goal. san la wren dough high school expected to start classes after a student had a loaded gun in his backpack. according to "the mercury news," a student tipped off school staff that the 16-year-old might have a gun. that student could be suspended or expelled along with criminal

charges. you're never more than seven minutes away from my accuweather forecast. notice already you can tell how much cooler it's going to be today just by stepping outside this morning where temperatures are 4 to 11 degrees cooler. in the north bay, that brings us to the upper 40s to low 50s. you have ukiah at 55, vallejo at 55. low to mid 50s just about everywhere around the bayshore from el sobrante at 53. we have 57 in san jose and brentwood and tracy at 59. here we're looking westbound on the san mateo bridge. you can see the cloud deck rolling back in. it is kind of dry. so expect isolated drizzle at best near the coast and maybe some of the higher elevations like the east bay hills if you're driving from san mateo over towards half moon bay. mass transit cool to mild today. the ferry ride will be a little breezy this afternoon.

you can see the lane closure due to this fuel spill. it is a sig alert. southbound 680 between al costa and dublin boulevard. traffic is not getting through, just on the on-ramp. the alcosta on-ramp to southbound 680. chp trying to get it cleaned up. they estimated lanes opening by 6:00 a.m. for now i'll take the alternate route because it looks like they have stopped traffic through the whole area here. nobody is getting through. we'll check back in just a bit. abc 7's matt keller is also on the scene and will be reporting shortly. duelling rallies held at support and against the june 5th recall vote for santa clara county judge aaron persky. supporters will hold a rally at 9:30 in front of the law office of james mcmanus, persky's campaign lawyer.

when the worst oil spill hit san francisco, first responders went to work. and mayor gavin newsom, he went to hawaii. man: newsome left the day after the spill for a four-day vacation in hawaii. the same gavin who said his job as lieutenant governor was so dull, he only showed up for work at the state capitol one day a week, tops. gavin's not gonna work as governor.

crews are working to clean up a spill on interstate 680 in dublin. you're seeing cars passing by without much of a problem. that's because the backup is behind this. we'll check in with sue hall. sue, how big of a backup are we talking about? >> it's pretty nasty, backing up all the way to bollinger canyon. that big rig is on the right-hand shoulder as you can see from sky 7. check out, now he's backing up and pulling out. you can see the backup that remains. once they merge past the scene of that truck, it does clear up towards the dublin interchange. you are just stacked up for several miles. your bestality mat, san ramon valley boulevard. as you can see on the screen, that's the main street parallel to the freeway. it looks pretty good at this particular hour. i would take that as your alternate until they get this cleaned up. they said 6:00.
