the east bay. crews are working to clean up a spill on interstate 680 in dublin. you're seeing cars passing by without much of a problem. that's because the backup is behind this. we'll check in with sue hall. sue, how big of a backup are we talking about? >> it's pretty nasty, backing up all the way to bollinger canyon. that big rig is on the right-hand shoulder as you can see from sky 7. check out, now he's backing up and pulling out. you can see the backup that remains. once they merge past the scene of that truck, it does clear up towards the dublin interchange. you are just stacked up for several miles. your bestality mat, san ramon valley boulevard. as you can see on the screen, that's the main street parallel to the freeway. it looks pretty good at this particular hour. i would take that as your alternate until they get this cleaned up. they said 6:00.

we're now at 6:00. they're mopping up the mess. we'll be following this. san ramon valley boulevard looks like a good alternate. once you're past the dublin interchange, you're looking good. you're never more than seven minutes away from my accuweather forecast. the sea breeze is back with a little attitude. look at this, 24 miles per hour. that's what's gusty in sfo. 18 in half moon bay to 28 in fairfield, 31 in concord. this is the look from the east bay hills back to the east. the sunshine, you can see it's topping the east bay hills. where are the 90s, the 80s? some of us will get to 70s. it will be between noon and 4:00. we start off in the low to mid 60s at 7:00. mid 60s around the bay and inland at noon. mid 60s at 4:00. grab a coat this evening. mid to upper 50s. >> we want to continue with our team coverage of this big issue

on 680. we've been tracking the tweets out from matt on the ground. can you give us an update on the progress in the last few minutes? >> reporter: they're hoping to make some progress. they've got that big rig up onto its tow truck and no word on why they're not moving out of the area right now. they still have three lanes closed. chp blocked all lanes of traffic in the last half hour or so. they allowed caltrans to come out here and sweep up all that diesel fuel that spilled here on southbound 680 right before dublin boulevard. they reopened it and those three lanes are now open. taking a look at this video from earlier, this hand because of a fuel tank of a big rig damaged at about 2:10 this morning. the driver told chp he heard a loud noise and ended up swerving into the center divide. he wasn't hurt. his truck cannot be driven. chp was hoping to have all lanes open by now. that hasn't happened yet. if you can take another way to

work, i would do that. on the other side of 680, it goes for miles there. back to you in the studio. new developments this morning in that attack in eastern belgium that happened yesterday. it's now being called a terrorist murder. we actually learned overnight the attacker who killed two police officers and a bystander also killed another person the day before the attack, and all of this chaos actually happened while the attacker was on a two-day release from prison. the shooter is benjamin herman. he reportedly shouted allahu akbar during the attack. he took a hostage at the school. the belgian interior men center says the woman may have helped talk down the shooter and avoid deaths inside the school. he crept up behind the two police officers, stabbed them repeatedly, stole their guns, then shot them in the back and

also shot the bystander. back to you, reggie. >> we also have an update on the firefighter injured during this fire at a beloved lake county market. justin costa remains hospitalized at the uc davis burn center in sacramento. he's in fair condition. costa is alert and talking. the fire broke out at hard center's market and hardware store. it's believed to be a total loss. that market served customers for 75 years. the cause is under investigation. a massive protest at an egg farm near petaluma led to dozens of arrests. animal activists from direct action everywhere say they stormed the facility to rescue hens. police arrested 40 activists for protesters. the protesters say they have evidence of animal cruelty. they provided photos to us, but the pictures could not be verified sunrise farms has notesnded our request for comment. 6:04.

the alum rock school district superintendent is under scrutiny again. after last night's school board meeting, it appears dr. bauer remains there for now. this is involving a contractor the district hired to do millions in construction work. the santa clara county da has an open investigation as well. some parents say school board members may be the ones with something to hide. >> we have a superintendent doing a phenomenal job and by blowing the whistle, they are bullying her. >> the school board president says if there was a contractor issue, i would have come out by now. are you waiting for someone to discover your great idea? today may b your lucky day. >> shark tank producers are in the bay area this morning. they're ready for your pitches. abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield live in san francisco with tips and more details about today's tryouts. >> reporter: good morning. here is a look at the line of people who are hoping to make it

welcome back. flooding continues on the east coast. while you were sleeping, an e c evacuation order was ordered for parts of north carolina down strome of lake tahoma. it want to show you residents in shelters right now. the lake's dam could rupture at any moment. a couple hundred people displaced because of concerns

for landslides and flooding. look at this, this is new video from old fort, north carolina. there were landslides already. this is from the rain alone. obviously they're trying to avoid a larger situation if that dam ruptures. dam engineers should be inspecting the dam. they said they would start doing so at daybreak. actor morgan freeman is fighting against a cnn article that accuses him of sexual misconduct. freeman's legal team sent the network a ten-page letter demanding an apology and a retraction. cnn reports at least eight women accused him of sexual misconduct including one of cnn's own entertainment reporters. she co-wrote the article. the network is standing by its reporting. abc news analyst dan abrams explains. >> to be able to win a lawsuit, they'd have to be able to prove

marketing processes. they say the tesla ceo elon musk is making people believe his cars are fully autonomous. >> police are investigating if auto pilot mode had anything to do with this crash. a model s slammed into a police car in laguna beach yesterday. the tesla driver had minor injuries. the officer was not in the car when the crash happened. this is the third time this year that a tesla reported to be on auto pilot has hit a parked emergency vehicle. the family of a teenage boy in a hammer attack credits a fast emergency response for saving his life. suspects entered a garage and attacked three teens with a hammer. one of the victims is a 17-year-old boy named alex who is still in critical condition with head injuries this morning. his family says he's alert and responsive after undergoing surgery. a family friend who didn't want to be identified shared this photo with us. >> i've known him his whole
