using the same guns the killers used, and he wanted to do it april 20th in 2021. we talked to parents this morning cannot imagine a freshman in high school having these thoughts. >> that's really, really sad. >> reporter: parents dropping kids off on the last day of school at california high are ending the year on a somber note. hearing about a student who wanted to shoot up this school columbine-style. >> what's going on in the world that a kid would think like that. it's scary. >> reporter: according to the police report obtained by the san jose mercury news, the police search the kid's home and found a tactical vest, camouflage helmet, a toy shotgun, handwritten notes, and digital data. >> i hope he gets some help. to have thoughts and emotions like that are not healthy, and i hope he gets the kind of support and direction that he or she

needs. >> reporter: police have not identified him, calling him john doe. he tried to recruit a student who reported him to a school officer. >> i'm very happy that the educational process that's taking place is working, that students understand it's serious. >> my daughter goaes here. concerned for her, so much going on in the world today you can't be too careful. >> reporter: school administr e administrators commended the student for coming forward. i checked in with the police, there's extra officers at the graduation ceremony tonight. they say not because of specific threats, but just to be safe given what's been going on. life, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. >> thank you. new details on the investigation after a woman's body was found in a stairwell at zuckerberg san francisco general hospital. the 75-year-old ruby lee anderson lived in a residential care facility on the hospital's campus and went missing may 20.

earlier this week, she was discovered in a stairwell at the power plant building at the hospital campus. in the last 20 minutes, the san francisco department of public health revealed that the medical examiner completed a forensic examination that determined there's no evidence that anyone was involved in anderson's death, meaning this is likely not a homicide investigation. the exact cause of death still has not been determined. san francisco based uber issued a statement in a deadly shooting involving one of the drivers in denver this morning. uber expressed condolences and says it's working with police. denver investigators say an uber driver shot and killed a male passenger on an interstate after some sort of altercation in the car. the silver sedan crashed into the wall. the driver called 911 and he's now being interviewed by the police. no arrests have been made. an uber driver out on bail after being arrested for threatening to stab a couple to death on saturday at the

apartment complex. it began when the couple honked at a black jetta blocking the gated entrance. the driver reversed, rolled down the window, pulled out two knives threatening to stab the couple. police arrested the driver a short time later. uber says it suspended him from the platform. developing news, a top aide to north korea's leader is now at the white house to personally hand a letter to president trump. kim jong un's representative arrived less than an hour ago. and secretary of state mike pompeo says, quote, good progress is being made to revive the on and off again nuclear talks between the u.s. and north korea. president trump said it may take many meetings to work out details for a summit. this follows mr. trump pulling from the summit scheduled for later this month. today's june 1st, the kickoff of pride month. one san jose school district sent a message of inclusion with

decision to raise tariffs on steel and aluminum. several republican leaders are urging the president to resend the tariffs fearing a global trade war. aluminum and steel will be more expensive for canada, mexico, and the european union. retaliation is in the air. >> this is further weakening the transatlantic relations, and it also increases the risk of severe trembles in the market. >> the worst case scenario was tariffs. >> here at home, all of this could mean higher prices on everything from appliances to airplanes, canned drinks, and cars. lettuce tainted with e.coli is blamed for the deaths of four more people across the u.s., and that brings the death toll to five. one of the five people who died was from california. america's largest e.coli outbreak in a decade stems from lettuce grown in yuma, arizona.

federal health officials believe it's unlikely more will get sick because arizona's growing season ended six weeks ago. it sickened nearly 200 people in 35 states. facebook is no longer trending. the social media giant is shutting down its trending news section after four years. company officials say the feature is outdated and was not popular. it also countld not distinguish between real and fake news. they are testing new features like a breaking news label that publishers can add to stories. it turns out fewer teenagers are using facebook. a new pugh survey reveals youtube takes the top spot with 85% of teenagers saying they use it. that's followed by instagram and snapchat. only 51% of teens say they use facebook. twitter is in fifth. as for the platform teens use most? snapchat. >> k-o-i-n-o-n-i-a.
