the 24-hour temperature change, from anywhere from 2 to 11 degrees warmer at this hour than we were yesterday. here's the plan. 40s and 50s through 7:00. by noontime, upper 70s around the bay. mid 80s inland. 60s at the coast. in the upper 90s, ten degrees above average this afternoon with upper 80s bayside. sunset, 8:27. it's going to be a war evening tonight. it could be just as hot tomorrow with minor cooling a the coast. we will talk in detail about the weekend coming up. developing news, the california highway patrol is investigating a fatal crash on the west bound lanes of 580 in dublin. it happened after midnight and left four of the five lanes closed for hours at the santa rita exit. the chp says the accident involved two cars and a pedestrian who was found in the roadway. that pedestrian died at the scene. lanes on the freeway have since reopened. happening today, rallies are

planned in several bay area cities to call attention to gun violence in our communities. today is national gun violence awareness day. hundreds are expected to wear the color orange and march across the golden gauge bridge at 11:30 this morning to help bring attention to the issue. the event is being sponsored by the brady campaign to prevent gun violence. two other rallies are planned. one at 59 carbon monoxide at the redwood city traintation and one at 10 a.m. at the -- a three teenagers were aassaulted with a hammer at a sleepover, including one how is still in the hospital. abc7 news reporter articles asido has the details of the arrest for more >> reporter: in aptos a security camera went up. word spread in the neighborhood

that a 15-year-old boy from watsonville was arrested with the brutal rhyme. >> when there is more understanding about what happened, it's easier to rest easy. >> reporter: all three teens received head injuries. one of the victims, 17-year-old alex, continues to recover and is now in stable condition. >> we recognize the importance of this case, how brutal and violent it was and the importance of making a quick arrest was a priority. >> reporter: detectives say the incident was a robbery that turned into attack. they are not releasing what was stolen but say drugs from found at the victim' prospect. despite this arrest officials say there are more suspects to be found saying the victims knew their attackers. >> it is a matter of time before they identify the rest of them and make arrests. >> reporter: sheriffs say they will continue to work this case until all those responsible are caught. anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office.

in aptos, abc7 news. a go fund me has been set up for the teen's family. it raised more than $43,000 of its $50,000 goal. if you want to donate you can find a link at our website, abc7news.com. new released court documents this the golden state killer case show exactly how investigators got the dna that led they will to joseph d'angelo. there were two samples. one came from a used tissue pulled out of a trash can. and then they sent to it a crime lab for analysis. d'angelo was in court again yesterday as the judge made the ruling to unseal the documents. they are the graphic details of the crimes he is accused of committing. you have another chance to see abc7's special presentation chasing the golden state killer. it will air tomorrow at 10:00

p.m. right here on abc7. in santa rosa, a city park that memorializes a teenage who was shot and killed by a teenager -- by a police officer is set to open today. lopez dade in 201. he was carrying an air soft beebe gun that looked like an ak-47. a deputy ordered loep to drop the weapon and shot the boy after he said lopez pointed the gun in his direction. the time now is 5:05. conservative evangelical graham came to the bay area tonight. hundreds gathered to hear his mess and others rallied to denounce graham's teachings. >> got hears prayer. >> reporter: reverend franklin

graham's conservative preaching. >> the reverend mr. franklin graham we know how to pray. >> reporter: berkeley police had extra officers available for the event. we have disturbing video from san francisco that shows a man kicking and injuring a small dog. this was taken yesterday near third and market. you can see a small dog approach a man. and he appears to kick it. the dog comes up to the man again. and this time he kicks it so hard it goes flying up against the building. you see it there. san francisco animal care and control say the dog has a fractured skull and would like the public's help in identifying the suspect. officials in the east bay are fearful whoever is maiming and torturing puppies there could also be abusing people. there was a third puppy found in a garbage heap this week. >> this is chloe. this is one of the beautiful

pets, one of the beautiful dogs who has been tortured and mutilated. >> reporter: chloe and two other month old puppies were not starved. they were not in a dogfighting link. they were socialized and they were abused. this puppy went under major reconstructive surgery on her jaw. she was the third puppy found in oakland over the weekend. >> two dogs were found left in a trash pile with significant injuries. the one dog had its foot cut off. the other had its tau jaw broken. >> reporter: this dog's jaw break was severe. she is recovering from extensive surgery in foster care in fremont. her sister is getting along with a severed rear paw. officials here say they have never seen this level of animal cruelty with someone using a tool of some kind to pull apart the puppy's jaws.

purposeful mutilation. >> if we have an individual who is doing this to animals, are they going to or have they done this to a human being? it could be a child or a baby. >> reporter: a task force is working with investigators to interview witnesses, scour surveillance video and piece together a license plate of who may have dumped the dogs. >> task force is to bring attention to and focus on and resources to animal abuse as crimes. >> reporter: as these dogs heal, officials are asking for the public's help. there is a $15,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. in oakland, leslie brinkley, abc7 news. if you are a warriors fan watching stub hub to find the best deals for tomorrow's game two of the nba finals you might notice the market has been out of whack. theirs night espn reported that game one was not a sellout. the warriors had hundreds of seats for sale moments before tip-off. after a close game that was decided in overtime standing

room tickets for game two could be bought for $250. but yesterday afternoon that price doubled. longtime ticket sellers are saying after four straight finals appearances the excitement is a little different. >> first year is a ban wagon year. everyone wants to go and there is excitement. they were probably going for 50% more. >> courtside seats for game two on sunday? that will set you back $50,000. steph curry and kevin durant are two of the warriors biggest stars. they took time after thursday night's big win to offer an assist for the child mentorship program. the nba and the warriors dedicated a learn and play zone. curry said meeting his biggest fans adds extra motivation to win the championship. >> i'm going to chaise this trophy in the next week and a half or so. the see your smiling faces that's what it's all about. >> the donation is part of the nba cares program.

mammal. >> reporter: the professor says this shark likely wants to travel and could be 80 miles away from here by this weekend. in pacifica, cornell barnard, abc7 news. the annual auction to have lunch with billionaire investor warren buffet has ended. the winner, glide memorial church. the winning bid was $3.3 million. with the money going to the foundation that helps the homeless. over the years the launch auctions raised more than $25 million for glide. a nobel memorial prize medal awarded to an oakland native has been auctioned off for 187,500. thomas shelling a cal grad received it in 1985. he is known for his expertise on game theory. and he is credited for limiting the danger from nuclear war. the proceeds will go to a civil rights advocacy group. experiencing yosemite just got more expensive.

the cloud have pulled away from the coast. low clouds and fog don't be an issue today. we might see a little bit of cloud cover along the san mateo coast tomorrow. high pressure is building in. walnut creek. 60 in san jose. from san rafael this morning it's going to be a warm one. a quick warm theup for everyone today. 50 in santa rosa. 57 by the delta. mid to upper 50s in concord and livermore. the warmer day today will allow for an even warmer day tomorrow as we retain some of that heat. even though we are not going to see that fog that helps insulate us overnight we are going to get so warm today it's going the take the overnight period to cool off. sutro, what a beautiful view out there. it's beautiful. we will enjoy a warm weekend.

sizzling inland. a little bit cooler at the coast. head to the beach, upper 60s from ocean beach to half moon bay. 78 in santa cruz. and month ray low 70s today, a lot of sunshine there. as we look at tomorrow, notice we are still had the mid to upper 90s inland. 72 in fran. we are going with upper 70s today. it means just that slight cooling on tap just around the bay tomorrow. by monday notice we are in the upper 80s to mid 80s inland with 60s around the bay. it should be considerably cooler as we get towards early next week. 70s and low 80s should do it for us. just a couple days of heat. that's the way it went before. we are looking at temperatures again today ranging from upper 60s, mild for the coast, with upper 90s inland. antioch 97. of the 6 in livermore. 78 for santa cruz with 80 in oakland.

temperatures continue to warm today and tony as high pressure builds in. in. in. the numbers will tick up to near 60 in the next hour or hour and a half around the bay. as eget going towards the afternoon, 11:00 we will be warm. low to mid 80s inland. and right through the evening hours here, the late afternoon hours we are in the mid 90s. certainly a big jump from yesterday. if you thought it was warm yesterday, even warmer today. but the fog should cool some of us off tomorrow. i'll explain coming up. the candidates for gernor of california are making their final push for votes. there is a lot at stake in tuesday's jungle primary. it will be the two highest vote getters who make it to the finals in november regardless of party affiliation. >> reporter: polls show antonio

villaraigosa in trouble in the governor's race. cox's numbers are are on the rise. >> people are looking for a change in management. i am a businessman not a politician. >> newsom is running ads that align cox with trump because he would rather face the republican than villaraigosa. cox's background is similar to trumps. that's something he hopes will propel him to the general. >> i welcome the president's support. i welcome it because he has actually gotten thing accomplished. people have differences with his style. i get it. but you know what? it's results that counting. >> something else that hurts villaraigosa a crowded democratic field. >> you have easton and chung, whose numbers are low. but when you put them together that's another fund of democratic votes villaraigosa can't get. i think it is a reflection of newsom's strength at the top of the ticket.

but also the fact that there just aren't enough democratic votes to possibly to get a second democrat in. >> reporter: california's state treasury john chung campaigned in boil heights friday. >> i think we all care about a governor who unders math who will balance the budget like everyday californians have to do, who will make sure we money available for education. >> reporter: the big question, how will the two candidates who move forward after the primary impact voter turnout in november. >> for the first time i can recall the governor's race is a tool or piece of house races, not the other way around. >> reporter: josh has kell. contra costa county elections officials are predicting a dismal voter turnout for the june 5th primary. the county planned for a 50% turnout of the now they say it could fall below 30%. the prediction is based on mail in ballots. so far only 62,000 have been

mailed back. >> there will be a low turn out for not just the primary for the governorship. but a lot of local race that are very important to various communities as well as ballot measures. by contrast, just over 75% of eligible californians are registered to vote this primary. that's the highest percent of eligible citizens registered to vote in a california gubernatorial primary in years. a stanford study showing political views ahead of the election shows the californian liberal stereotype may be a myth. 39% view themselves as democrat, 24 as independent, and 16% republican. according to data released by the secretary of state yesterday more than 25% of voters are registered with no party preference. this is the final weekend before the election. we have stocked a section on our website with useful information at abc7news.com/election.
