good morning, everyone. i'm carolyn tyler. thank you for joining us on this sunday, june 3rd. let's start with a quick look at the weather with our meteorologist lisa argen. >> hey, carolyn. good morning to you. we are looking at indications of a slightly cooler atmosphere to come just in some spots around the bay area. live doppler 7 right now picking up on some fog on the peninsula and also coming through the golden gate. but temperature-wise, we are warmer. anywhere from 2 to 7 degrees warmer this morning than yesterday. here's a look at our friends, the sea lions, at pier 39. still kind of sleepy out there. you can see the sun in the distance, 55 in san francisco. 60 in mountain view. the 40s on the coast. and this is walnut creek, one of the very warm locations again

today. 53 in santa rosa. 54 in novato with the 60s in concord. and 59 in livermore. so 50s throughout the next couple of hours, but then it's a quick warm up inland with mid-80s by noontime. 70s around the bay. the sea breeze kicks in to be comfortable at the coast in the 60s. around the bay, temperatures will be cooler. the onshore push increases. but not enough to help us out in our east bay valley. so still another toasty one there. but big-time cooling for monday. we'll talk about it coming up. > ari tnkyou, lisa. we are just hours away from game two of the nba finals at oracle. you can see the countdown clock there counting down to the nba countdown program at 4:00. by the way, clay thompson says he is planning on playing. and the first quarter of game one, undercut by jr smith of the cavaliers who slipped on the court. thompson suffered a left ankle sprain.

you saw him limping off the court. the warriors list him as questionable before the game. he told reporters he was angry about what happened. >> it was a tough play on the ball. and then to tumble into somebody's legs like that -- you have to move past it, but it's life. and i'm going to be better from it. it is just a minor setback. but i don't think it was intentional. >> well, andre is remaining doubtful for tonight after missing the past five games with a bone bruise in his left leg. the dubs are the heavy favorites to win the title, but they need overtime to take game one 124-114. by the way, that countdown clock is counting down to the program at 4:30. now, if you want to go to game develop tonight, we know of leas t a tickets that are

station will be open this morning. and this morning santa cruz county sheriff deputies are looking for a man who allegedly tried to kidnap a woman in watsonville. here's a sketch of the suspect he grabbed the woman as she was gathering items in her car. she screamed and got away. the suspect drove off in a light blue two-door honda accord. he's described to be in his 30s with a thin build wearing a black short-sleeve shirt with red or white lettering and black shorts. firefighters remain on the scene of this fire in west oakland. droneview7 was overhead as water was poured on the flames last night. crews

they got it under control. representatives from the bay area air quality management district responded and took a report. and there have been two other fires at the steel building in ten years. you're looking live at a fire from there in 2011. and we know the identity of the two climbers that died from el cap tan. 46-year-old jason wells of colorado and 42-year-old tim klein of los angeles county plunged to their deaths around 8:15 yesterday morning. park rangers received several calls just moments after that tragedy. investigators say man was trying to investigate the route. >> there are going to be severa really understand what happened today. as far as exactly where they

were, how high they were, what type of gear they were using, these are all unanswered questions. >> yesterday's deaths came less than two weeks after this man from new jersey died while climbing another famous peak in yosemi yosemite, half dome. and in the north bay, a park has been dedicated in memory of a santa rosa teenager who was shot and killed by a sonoma county sheriff's deputy in 2013. many hope the park named after andy lopez will bring unity and healing to the community. abc 7 news reporter cornell bernard has the story. >> gentlemen just invites us to pray always -- jesus invites us to pray always. >> reporter: aztec dancers performed a blessing ceremony at the new county park. this construction worker helped build andy's unify park and

mother. but his aunt spoke on her behalf. >> we'll continue to struggle together in his memory so this will never happen again. >> reporter: the shooting was condoned back in 2016 but friends still keep fighting for justi justice. >> if we keep fighting, then maybe the cop will be off the street but they will never have their son back. thousands of people marched across america yesterday calling for an end to gun violence. that included a group here in the bay area. abc 7 news was at the golden gate bridge for a rally at the san francisco end of the yeery marked the thirdr rhe day. >> wearing orange is all about common sense gun laws and wearing orange to support the 96

americans that lose their lives to gun violence every day. orange was chosen because hunters wear orange to protect themselves. so the idea is we wear orange to protect ourselves. >> the wear orange campaign began after the 2013 shooting death of this young woman in chicago. her fellow high school students celebrated her memory. and at marina way park, that's at the corner of regatta boulevard and melville square. the richmond rainbow pride is a group of lbgtq individuals and their allies who live, work or play in or near richmond. one of their goals is to create space that is are safe and welcoming in the gay community.a

we're getting our first idea of the impact of the kilauea volcano on hawaii's tourism. most of the observatory national park has been closed for weeks. and norwegian cruise lines suspended weekly stops in hilo all costing millions. restaurant that is are normally packufri a he ve t cut o staff, reduce hours and we have to shut down every tuesday. >> for the people here in southeast kilauea puna, it is

very bad. >> kailua began erupting over a month ago. lava has burned down a substation and warehouse that stored a drilling rig there. at least 87 homes have been destroyed. and new this morning, a report shows nearly half of bay area residents want to pack up and move. the reason is the high cost of housing. a survey by the bay area council, a business-backed public advocacy group, shows 46% of bay area residents surveyed are likely to move out of the region in the next few years up from 40% last year. bay area home prices have been for six years. in april, the median sale price rose to $850,000. and many san francisco civic leaders and other luminaries climbed halfway to the stars on

5:00 they are stronger at 10 to 20 miles an hour. and look at the gusts along the coast, we'll take you through monday with the winds increasing. you can see the yellows and the blues and the purple, that's going to bring cold in terms of the beaches today, they were crowded yesterday. sunny, maybe a sweatshirt. 60s in santa cruz. no 90s. back into the 80s with some 70s and 60s from redwood city to oakland. into tuesday, more cooling with a few 80s well out to the delta. and numbers along the coast, low clouds and fogbeit for the day. upper 60s along the coastline. low 70s from napa to concord. san jose, 90.

welcome back, everyone. we're starting this half hour with a look at the weather with meteorologist lisa argen. good morning, everyone. from the east bay, it looks clear. we won't take the edge off the heat here with plenty of 90s in spo store for you today. and 60s in some locations. 54 in san francisco. 47 in oakland. 48 in half-moon bay. just a little bit of fog there across the golden gate. and that is an indicator of a return to an onshore push. 53 in santa rosa. 55 in novato. 57 in fairfield. low 60s in concord and livermore. but by 7:00 this morning, the only cool spot will be on the coast. else where, the low to mid-60s going around the bay. by noontime, we're in the mid to upper 80s inland. that's noon. 70 in oakland. and by about 4:00, we've got a

coverage starts at 4:00 p.m. abc 7 sports anchor mindy bach has a preview of tonight's big game and this morning's sports. four times, four straight years of warriors and cavaliers have faced each other in the nba finals. there's been some turnover but the key players remain and that's made an interesting dynamic. there's a history between many of the players and they often know the buttons to push to bait their opponents. tristan thompson was ejected from ball one and admits the warriors bug him. >> whenever you see a team four straight finals, you're going to start not liking each other. so it's too competitive franchises that want the same trophy. so like any playoff series, after a couple games, people get irritated. >> did you watch the replay?

a live look at santa cruz. beautiful visibility with numbers in the 70s for the afternoon. live doppler 7 picking up on the patchy fog from the peninsula out into our east bay. and also up into the north bay, but point reyes today, 70 degrees. it will take another day for us to get into that onshore push. more like the evening hours. so high pressure is still overhead. it's sliding to the east in response to this system here. and eventually it's going to bring us or our temperatures well below average for the middle of the week. 2 degrees warmer in oakland. 5 degrees warmer in livermore. napa, 7 degrees warmer. the east bay hills, you can kind of make out the golden gate bridge with a little bit of haze here. and looking at 50s from san srancisco to ola 48, half-moon bay. and another picture where the winds are pretty flat, except a little bit of a puff of breeze there. and we'll be looking at those onshore winds picking up

happening today, a lot of people will get wet, wrride a be and run. this is the alcatraz triathlon. last year they were kept out of san francisco bay because of high winds. they settled for biking 18 miles and running for 8 more through the city before finishing at marina green. if the bay cooperates, athletes will swim one-and-a-half miles from alcatraz to shore and hop on their bikes. this race is considered one of
