ryan gore an confirmed by phone a 13-year-old girl was bit by a snake as she hiked with friends near sunset. she put her sand on the rocks, a snake emerged from the rocks and hit her. her hand started swelling. emergency responders treated it as a rattlesnake bite and called for her to be life flighted to john muir medical center for treatment. she is hospitalized there and recovering now. >> it's sad, shocking, yeah. that's sad. >> reporter: does it make you feel differently about camping here with your family? >> absolutely not. it comes with nature and we have to be careful. >> reporter: rangers say they've seen more rattle nakz out and about than usual. they recently had to relocate a few at trails a and camp sites. other rattlers showed up on a front porch in benicia last week. and bit i hiker at mount tam last month. best advice, watch where you put your feet and hands while hiking and stay on the trails. on mount dt. diablo, i'm leslie

brinkley, abc7 news. >> a man is wanted in watsonville for trying to kidnap a woman. police released a sketch of the suspect. yesterday afternoon he grabbed a woman from behind as she gathered items in her car at pinto lake county park. she screamed and managed to break away. a man is in custody suspected of stabbing someone at bart el cerrito north station. he was stabbed in the abdomen. carl richardson has been charged with an assault and banned from bart. service resumed this morning. it was a bitter sweet day for marjory stoneman douglas high school in florida. they held their graduation student, noticeably absent, four of their classmates. ♪ ♪ >> a group of students performed the song "shine" which was written shortly after the

santa clara county sheriff is facing allegationss of past sexual harassment just days before the election in which she goes for a 6th term. i-team reporter dan noyes with a story you'll see only on abc7 news. >> she harassed them then retaliated because they turned her down. the retirement letter sent in april, part of a lawsuit he's filed against the county. it also mentions former narcotics officer gary brady who said smith removed him from the prestigious assignment after he rebuffed her advances. >> i always remember her vein on

>> a bar patron was hit in the leg and is expected to be fine. the fbi agent was off duty and it's not clear if that was a bureau issued gun or his own weapon. the department is investigating and it will be up to the district attorney's office to determine whether to file charges. a leaked letter is giving new insight into arguments by the president's lawyers about why they say he's not required to testify in the russia investigation. abc7 news reporter david packer has the story. >> reporter: the president's lawyer rudy giuliani standing by arguments made in a 20-page letter written by trump's lawyers before he joined the team. >> legal arguments, i didn't see it at the time, obviously i wouldn't be allowed to, but i know the argument and it's very persuasive. >> reporter: the letter leaked to "the new york times" laying out the strategy on the russia investigation say he cannot be guilty of obstruction of justice due to his position as chief law enrcen officer.that would amoun obstructing himself.

still hanging on to a lot of that warmth we attained earlier this afternoon. 80 in concord, 83 antioch, san jose one degree shy of 70. santa rosa checking with a temperature of 64 degrees. here's the call from accuweather. it will be a mild night for most of us, north bay, santa rosa, cooler. dropping into the upper 40s. plenty of stars out there, but a bit of a breeze will pick up right along the coast the next 12 hours. here's the bigger picture. satellite, high pressure, this is the muscle maker of our forecast this weekend. brought the intense heat in june. sunshine is moving off to the east. what we're watching, you look off to the north on live doppler 7 along with satellite, this is a cold front that the sink south the next 24 hours, bring in cooler air, but kick up wend. future tracker wind gusts, not too bad away from the coast. generally light winds, but we do anticipate into the afternoon and into the evening 5:00 on monday winds will pick up.

frequent wind gusts, 15 to 30 miles per hour. the wind coming off the cool ocean water which will usher in that cooler air. so, 12-hour day planner on monday, a couple of coastal clouds early on. a lot of sunshine throughout the day away from the coast, but it will be breezy and not as hot as today. that's the big take away. highs for monday in the south bay, 79 in san jose, we're out of the 90s. 77 for cupertino, 80 for morgan hill. the peninsula is breezy. 74 palo alto, 67 the high for san mateo. downtown san francisco we're out of the 70s. tomorrow we're in the 60s. 66 downtown, 61 for daly city. the north bay 70s and 80s, 83 sonoma, san rafael, 74 fremont tomorrow. inland we're out of the 90s back to the 80s. 84 san ramon, 85 brentwood, 84 concord. accuweather seven-day forecast. cool and breezy. by tuesday we drop the numbers even more. bought 60s and 70s. wednesday could have a little bit of morning drizzle.
