110-102. they're up three games to none. one victory away from capturing another nba championship. let's go live now back to quicken loans arena in cleveland where mindy bach is standing by. steve kerr told you his team still hasn't played a complete game. mindy, there would be no suspense if they put it all together. >> what fun would that be if they played a complete game every game. if you look at the way the game started up until the final minutes, larry, the cavaliers outrebounded the warriors. they scored more in the paint, more second chance points than the warriors did. but kevin durant had himself a career night and as he walked off the court i had a chance to ask him about it and with his team only one win away from another nba title. >> it's a step in the direction we want to go, to be champions. we have one more win to do so. i loved everybody's poise tonight. coach's poise. the sense of urgency. we started off down 16-4, but we kept fighting, kept playing and we made sure down the stretch,

>> abc7 news reporter kate larson was at the dubs watch party. hi, kate. >> reporter: hi there, alma. you know the game may have been in cleveland tonight, i can tell you the party was still right here in oakland. there were fans packed into the arena. the energy was just fantastic. take a listen. here are some of the moments right after the warriors won the game. oracle was packed with 8,000 fans tonight. they were treated to quite a show. great to see so many families and kids in the arena. the $20 watch party ticket price was definitely a welcome relief from the sky high game ticket price tags. the first two quarters were tough, but in true warriors fashion, the dubs picked it up in the third. >> it was kind of suspenseful. i was like, oh, god, they're not going to win. next thing you know, right there, they just won the game l >> we call it dub con three for some reason. we shine, we win all the time. >> i love the game.

say. oakland police say they were called just before 9:00. they found a man with a gunshot wound. the victim is in stable but guarded condition. any witnesses are asked to call the oakland police. now to deve. smoke was visible in the east bay for miles tonight. firefighters remain on the scene of a brush fire that spread to a junk yard in antioch. >> that's right, abc7 news melanie woodruff is live with this developing story. melanie. >> reporter: dan and alma, firefighters are still out here and investigators say they have already determined the cause. a burning candle inside a tent. they say gusting winds spread this fire quickly. you can see from sky 7 thick dark plumes of smoke earlier tonight. firefighters say they got the call just after 5:30 p.m. for a vegetation fire that spread to a junk yard. officials issued a public health advisory due to the smoke. helicopters dropped water from overhead. >> the stuff that's burning is

come ride the incredicoaster. abc7 news was in san jose where activists held a news conference about the april incident. the unnamed teacher is on paid leave from santa teresa high school. activists say the teacherho wate td a bck student to stay away from him and used a rope to make a noose around his own neck. the activists are considering a civil rights lawsuit against the school district. >> we are finding out this is pervasive throughout our school system, and this is terrible. this is beyond comprehension that this could be happening. >> the district attorney's office determined the incident was not a hate crime and no charges were filed. >> a san francisco woman has been charged with murder after

her roommate dismembered body was found at their home. police say the victim was discovered saturday at 14th and van ness in the mission. according to the chronicle, the victim was maggie maimer. her roommate 47-year-old lisa gonzalez was arrested. a friend of maimer's told the chronicle she was being forced to move out suddenly. >> this is a very concerning case for us. we take it very seriously. we're very disturbed about the allegations. >> gonzalez is due to be arraigned on friday to hear the formal charges against her. prosecutors want her held without bail. >> for the first time we're hearing from the man wounded when an fbi agent's gun went o exclusive interview with "good morning america," tom redding ton said he remains confused by the bizarre incident that happened early saturday morning. >> i heard a loud bang set off a firecracker. all of a sudden my -- from the knee down became completely red.

and that's when it clicked in my head, oh, i've been shot. >> the agent's gun fell onto the ground when he did a black flip while dancing. it went off when he tried to pick it up. he's been identified as 29-year-old chase bishop. he could face charges. you can hear more from tom ledding ton tomorrow on "good morning america" here on abc7 starting at 7:00 a.m. >> the highw patrol released video of a helicopter rescuing a climber in yosemite last month. pretty dramatic footage. the chp said the 47-year-old man fell about 200 feet while climbing north dome and suffered major injuries, of course in a fall that severe. a helicopter crew hoisted the victim up and took him to an ambulance that was awaiting nearby. the victim was taken to a hospital in fresno to be treated, but at least survived. >> all right. let's turn our attention to the weather as we are mid week. >> mid week heading toward the weekend. still really ridiculously breezy out there. meteorologist sandhya patel is here. sandhya?

>> it has been blowing all afternoon long, dan and alma. let's look at live doppler 7 now. we do have the marine influence going strong tonight. you will notice that it's covering the low clouds, that is, covering pretty much most of the bay area. the winds are still going strong in fairfield, nearly 40 miles an hour on shore wind coming off that cool ocean water in san francisco. 25 miles an hour. concord, you're also at 25. so, if it has been feeling windy out there, you're not imagining things. some areas are still dealing with it. now, as you take a look at the wind trend, it is going to be gusty the next few hours and then dropping off only to pick back up again as we head towards tomorrow afternoon and evening. so, what can i say? you don't like it, just get used to it for one more day and then we're going to start to see the winds easing a bit on friday. a live picture from our south beach camera. dh check out sales force tower all lit up in blue for the warriors win. love that show th

>> well, on the peninsula, a comeback story for the ages involving the resilient teenager and her personal connection to the warriors and some cavaliers fans in cleveland. abc7 news reporter chris wynn has more now from redwood city. >> reporter: inside the halls of sequoia high school, sophomore caitlyn o'connor is d odds and sharing her wisdom along the way. >> find the positive in the struggle and it will end up being okay. they'll make it through their hard times. >> reporter: at age 13, caitlyn was diagnosed with rasmus enz encephalitis, a rare disease that causes debilitating seizures. >> she was having up to 20 a day with tremors almost 24/7. it was just very hard. >> reporter: two surgeries failed to help. so in 2015 caitlyn traveled to the cleveland clinic for a third procedure to stop the seizures. during her recovery, the hospital staff helped her decorate her room in warriors colors. the side effects of the surgery, though, included left side

paralysis as well as severe headaches. this video taken by family shows caitlyn during a physical theryeson learning how to walk again. when she got back to the bay area, caitlyn e-mailed coach steve kerr who at the time was also suffering from headaches after undergoing spinal surgery. to her amazement, the coach wrote back and eventually invited her to a game. a kind gesture that cemented her status as a super fan. caitlyn has caught up academically. applaud her spirit. >> she sets examples for students on campus about what it looks like to hold yourself to high expectations and to set goals and meet them. >> reporter: caitlyn is now on the sequoia swim team where she competes with only the use of her right arm. the warriors basketball will always be her first love. >> i just love the chemistry of the players and i love the whole fan base and everything. >> reporter: this remarkable teenager inspiring the warrior within us all. in redwood city, chris wynn, abc7 news. >> she's something else.

(car door closes) (sound of engine starting) in santa rosa tonight residents are marveling at newly released video of rescues during the north bay fire storm. as abc7 news reporter wayne freedman explains, the heroes worked for the city and wore uniforms but not the ones you might expect. >> reporter: it is maybe the last place anyone might recognize a first responder. behind the wheel of a santa rosa city bus, but this view tonight bears no resemblance to the early morning hours of october 9th. >> this intense glow here is the hilton hotel. >> reporter: steve is as technically a superintendent. he's also one of six drivers who came to work in the midst of a john kay who had lost his house that night. it turns out he's a former fireman who actually arrived in some areas before the

firefighters. what was the fireman in you saying? >> i don't belong here. >> reporter: and the bus driver was saying? >> you don't have a choice, get to it. >> reporter: more than once drivers wondered if they would. steve is most well known because he saved video from the cameras on board his bus. they recorded his first stop at the brook daile memory care facility. by the time they left he filled every seat. one camera showed steve reassuring passengers as they left for a shelter while only he knew the terror ahead. >> there were times when i -- you know, the choice was only to go forward. i couldn't turn around. we'll either make it or i won't. >> reporter: steve's worst moments he said as the bus passed through the inferno of coffee park. >> these are rivers of embers. i'm dumfounded. >> reporter: the only thing you did to reassure them at a time like that? >> that's what i was trying to do, project an image of
