violence did break out at the warriors watch party at oracle arena. oakland police are asking witnesses to come forward. they say a man was shot in parking lot a around 9:00 last night. so far police have not made any arrests. it is now 4:30. here is a quick update on weather and traffic. >> let's see the noisy spots overnight, guys. the winds at sfo at 18, 13 at oakland, 125 at concord. calmest conditions in mountain view and the south bay and in the north bay right now. those winds are the dominant feature in the forecast once again. they did kick up a few more

clouds this morning. the sunshine will be a little slower than it was yesterday. low to mid 50s at 7:00. mitd to upper 50s along the coast. mid 60s around the bay and inland at lunchtime. this evening 55 to 63 degrees. let's send it back over to alexis. we're looking at some road work this morning. it's not as bad as yesterday as this time. more grounding and paving work. this time on the southbound side of the roadway. that is between university area there. looks like they just got those lanes picked up it looks like that has cleared. i'll keep an eye on that. it should not be as bad as that northbound direction was yesterday. we're looking at a empty richmond side of the richmond-san rafael bridge heading toward the sierra, westbound 580. light volumes everywhere so far. fire crews were still monitoring an east bay fire late

into the night. a lot of you saw the smoke coming from this junk yard. >> three people got hurt including a firefighter. cornell barnard live in pittsburg this morning. >> reporter: still pretty windy here in pittsburg. that did not help firefighters last night. it helped spread this dramatic fire along really fast. in fact, you may have seen the fire on your way home last night. smoke could be seen for miles. sky 7 was overhead showing how intense things got for a time. helicopters were jumping water overhead. a vegetation fire that spread to a nearby junk yard. investigators quickly determined the cause, a candle burden of proofing inside a tent inside a homeless encampment. officials issued a public health advisory due to all the smoke. >> the stuff that's burning is particularly nasty, it's tires and upholstery and seats.

>> reporter: firefighters got a handle on the fire about 7:30 or 8:00 last night. one firefighter injured his hand while fighting the fire. he returned a short time later. two other people suffered minor smoke inhalation and burns. live in pittsburg, cornell barnard, abc 7 news. a san francisco woman has been charged with murder after police found her roommate's dismembered body at their home. >> police say the victim was discovered saturday at 14th and van ness. the victim was maggie mammer. police arrested her roommate, 47-year-old lisa gonzalez due to be arraigned tomorrow. prosecutors want her held without bail. take a look at what happened after a driver veered off the road, went airborne, hit a garage and a tree and landed in the back yard. oakland police say they've arrested the driver for assaulting the police officer who responded to the

police say sfonds were giving him medical attention at the time when he attacked them with a sbienl board. a teacher is in trouble for what he says is a joke. others say it was a racist gesture directed at the student. activists for people of color held a news conference about the incident that happened in april. the unnamed teacher is on paid administrative leave from santa teresa high school. activists say a black stupt was in pe class when the teacher, who is white, allegedly said stay away from me and used a rope to make a noose around his neck. >> it is appalling that we have children trying to be educated in an atmosphere like this. we are all responsible for children.nd educating our >> activists are considering a civil rights lawsuit against the school district. the case was taken to the district attorney's office in

which deemed a hate incident, not a hate crime. no charges were filed. an overnight ub date on the situation in guatemala. some of the youngist victims of the deadly fuego eruption have arrived in south texas for medical attention. six children, all in critical condition arrived in galveston last night. doctors say they will likely undergo surgery this morning at the shriner's hospital for children. it specializes in burn treatment. this comes as the death toll rises again. it's at least 99 people. nearly 200 others are still missing. >> [ speaking foreign language ]. >> she just wants help finding her family. >> i want to show you this photo from nasa. it shows ow big that ash plume is and how it looks from space. you can see this is where the volcano is, this dark spot here.

chose mark leno as their second choice by 25% chose breed. no surprise that one day after the election the candidates have different views on the instant runoff system called ranked-choice voting. >> this is the one we're dealing with as it relates to this race. for now we're stuck with it. >> it promotes more positive campaigning because if i want your second vote, i'm not going to drop a bomb on you. i think we saw that in this race as well. >> reporter: political analyst joe tomb mitt went through ranked-choice voting twice when he was candidate for mayor. >> arguably, if you want to be everybody's candidate, you need to get more than 50% of the frst place votes and never deal with ranked choice. >> at this point the race is too close to call and is expected to take days, if not weeks, to determine the winner.

breezy with increasing sunshine and temperatures starting off about 56 and only warming to about 60. congratulations and have fun. 69 in san diego, 74 in los angeles. 80s through the central valley. 100 in palm springs. here is my forecast for the next seven days. we've still got windy and cool conditions saturday. the winds will relax sunday. look at the 80s, warm temperatures in the high country. that's tuesday and wednesday. a u.s. district judge is allowing a lawsuit challenging immigration authorities for separating parents from their children to go forward. judge dana saab bra said the allegations of border authorities separating children from parents if true are, quote, brutally offensive. in may, attorney general jeff sessions announced a zero tolerance policy at the border. that means any adult who enters the country illegally is criminally prosecuted even if the result is separating families. the white house says president trump is likely to get

kate o'connor oh. >> finding the positive in the struggle and it will end up being okay. they'll make it through their hard times. >> reporter: at age 13, caitlin was diagnosed with rasmussen's encephalitis, a rare disease that causes debilitating seizures. >> up to 20 a day with tremors almost 24/7. it was just very hard. >> reporter: two surgery's failed to help. in 2015, caitlin traveled to the cleveland clinic for a third procedure. during the recovery, the hospital staff helped decorate her rooms in warriors colors t. side effects included left side paralysis as well as severe headaches. this video shows her during a physical therapy session learning how to walk again. when she got back to bay area, caitlin e-mailed steve kerr who was also suffering headaches after undergoing spinal surgery.
