>> reporter: guys, good morning and happy friday. so with growing concerns of a trade war, tensions are already high between the u.s. and close allies and now at least one is threatening to isolate the u.s. trump versus trudeau. >> i don't think, you know, descending into insults is right for the way canada engages with the world. >> reporter: it's not uncommon for the president to call out enemies on twitter, but it's not every day he's criticizing the leader of one of our closest allies by name writing prime minister trudeau is being so indignant bringing up the relationship that the u.s. and canada had over the many years and all sorts of things but he doesn't bring up the fact that they charge us up to 300% on dairy hurting our farmers, killing our agriculture. the diplomatic spat between leaders of neighboring countries heating up merely hours before meeting face-to-face. leaders of the group of seven risch nations or the g7 already anticipated to clash over new u.s. tariffs on steel and aluminum which they call unacceptable and insulting. all this stoking fears of a

trade war, but the trump administration downplaying the disagreements. >> there may be disagreements. i regard this as much like a family quarrel. >> reporter: and the president's america first agenda could be threatening to leave america alone. the u.s. is also at odds with allies on issues like climate and iran. french president emmanuel macron tweeting, the american president may not mind being isolated but neither do we mind signing a six-country agreement if need be. [ speaking a foreign language ] saying if it has to be g6 plus 1, so be it. >> and we are very pleased to stand by france and our other allies. >> reporter: and as if tensions weren't alrey high, the white house announced president trump will be leaving that summit early to head to sgapore to meet with kim jong-un and that ans he'll miss sessions on climate change and the environment. kendis and diane. >> yeah, a lot of people calling it the g6 plus 1 because of that. janai norman, thank you.

the senate intelligence committee's ex-security director is now facing charges of lying to the fbi. in a case targeting leaks of classified information, james wolfe is accused of lying to investigators about his contacts with reporters. "the new york times" reports government prosecutors also secretly seized years of emails and phone records belonging to a "times" reporter who was in a relationship with wolf. the case is the first known instance of the trump justice department obtaining a reporter's data. another big story we're following out of washington and it's an important one for every american. this one affecting obamacare and people who have pre-existing conditions. the justice department says it will no longer defend the affordable care act in a lawsuit brought by the state of texas. that lawsuit argues that obamacare's protections for people with pre-existing conditions are unconstitutional. attorneys general from 16 states say they will step in for the government and fight the lawsuit themselves. the case could head to the supreme court and critics say the new uncertainty could send insurance premiums soaring. first lady melania trump may

be trying to send a message to her husband's lawyer. rudy giuliani was in israel when he was asked about the first lady's reaction to the president's alleged affair with stormy daniels. well, that reaction has sparked a backlash. >> she believes in her husband. she knows it's not true. i don't even think there's a slight suspicion that it's true when you -- excuse me -- when you look at stormy daniels. i know donald trump and look at his three wife, right, beautiful women, classy women, women of great substance. stormy daniels? >> well, that drew a sharp reply from the first lady's spokeswoman who said, quote, i don't believe mrs. trump has ever discussed her thoughts on anything with mr. giuliani. an atf agent is in critical but stable condition after he was shot during what investigators call an ambush. they say it started as an undercover operation and then turned into a shootout on the streets of gary, indiana. one suspect was killed at that scene. two are in custody and a fourth

is on the run. a police officer in milwaukee has been killed after his patrol car flipped over during a pursuit. the suspect was accused of reckless driving. the officer who died was only 23 years old. another officer involved in the crash is in stable condition. recovery crews in guatemala have suspended their search efforts with the death toll from sunday's volcano eruption approaching 100. some villages are buried under ten feet of ash. that ash is so hot it's melting the tires of rescue vehicles. six children burned by those ash clouds are now being treated at shriners hospital in galveston, texas. the care will cost more than $1 million per patient. meanwhile we have new video from hawaii this morning as the number of homes destroyed by the kilauea volcano is now over 600. lava has buried two housing developments on the big island and also evaporated an entire lake. time now for a look at your weather for this friday morning.

while i was on a combat patrol my c in baqubah, iraq,nned out. a rocket-propelled grenade took my arm off at the shoulder. when i came home, i felt alone. my family was around me, but i couldn't talk to them about what i'd seen and what i'd done. i remember just thinking, man, the way i am right now, i don't want to live. i was discharged from the army, and i've been working with the wounded warrior project since 2007. warriors don't have to be severely wounded to be with the wounded warrior project. we do have a lot of guys that have post-traumatic stress disorder. being able to share your story, i guess it kind of helps you wrap your mind around what did happen over there.

a quick thinking flight instructor is being praised this morning after safely landing this cessna on a florida interstate. he reportedly took the controls from a student pilot after the plane suffered engine trouble. he avoided all the cars on interstate 75 in gainesville. nobody got hurt. >> good piloting there. the head of the epa scott pruitt is under fire once again this morning for alleged misuse of his security detail. the use of force by police officers in mesa, arizona, under scrutiny again this morning with the release overnight of new body camera video. it's the latest in a string of violent arrests leading to officers being suspended. and the new video that we've seen now shows a teenager being arrested after an armed robbery. >> you can hear officers asking him about a gun. they now say he ditched that weapon before officers got to him but still the officers' tactics are now being called into question. this morning growing backlash for the mesa police department. >> where is the gun? >> reporter: authorities say this new body cam video show them arresting a 15-year-old robbery suspect last month. the video appears to show one officer grabbed the teen by the neck while demanding to know where a gun is. >> where's the gun? >> i didn't have no gun. >> reporter: the teen allegedly robbed a convenience store moments earlier with a sawed off shotgun. he's been charged with robbery

and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two officers involved in the arrest have been placed on administrative leave. >> they told you to sit your [ bleep ] down. >> reporter: the department released that latest video one day after several officers were placed on leave stemming from this video showing them repeatedly punching an unarmed man. police say robert johnson was resisting, and they thought he had a knife, but they never found a weapon. >> i want mesa to be held accountable for what they have done. i don't want to say nothing else. i'm sorry. >> mesa has had a culture of hurting people, shooting people and killing people, and this is sad, and it needs to stop immediately today. >> reporter: these are just the latest in a string of violent arrests under investigation in mesa. >> what are you doing? >> reporter: including this takedown of an 84-year-old grandmother in february and the fatal shooting of an unarmed man in a hallway in 2016. that officer was fired and later acquitted of second degree murder. >> this in no way represents the whole work that is done every

day. they're human beings, and certainly at first glance this looks like a mistake. >> and we do expect to learn more about that 15-year-old's arrest today. the police chief has already said changes are being made to the department's policies. the so-called dancing doctor is defending her moves as the state of georgia suspends her medical license. dr. windell boutte is being sued by former patients claiming she left them disfigured. she's also under fire for posting these videos of herself dancing while performing surgeries. patients say they did not consent to the videos. boutte says that's not true. >> and you are confident that you never look back and you go, you know what, i got carried away with the singing and dancing and maybe i wasn't as focused as i needed to be on the procedures. >> the procedures, 99% were done. >> even that 1%. >> even in that 1%, because it's 30 to 60 seconds so the patient

hour before the metering lights are turned on. unfortunately we had a very serious crash overnight in the sunol area. northbound 680 before state route 84. at least one person is dead. matt keller is loif on the scene with the late. >> reporter: good morning, alexis. this is a sad story. behind me you can see 680 is back open. they closed the freeway for about 90 minutes for the investigation and cleanup. here is the result of that crash. you can check out the video. it happened about 12:20 this morning. chp says a black dodge was heading down 680 where the driver fell asleep at the wheel and rear-ended a toyota corolla which then hit a ford. three people were taken to a drama center. an 8-year-old in the white toyota died at the hospital. chp says drugs or alcohol don't appear to be a factor in the
