walnut creek with the high clouds, 50s right now. 70s by noon time. still cool near 60 at the coast. >> thank you, lisa. well, the champs are home. the warriors made a triumphant return to the bay area from cleveland with dub nation basking in the glow of the team's third title in four years. the team has used the motto "strength in numbers," and that clearly applies to the fans as well. hundreds lined up waiting to catch a glimpse of their heroes yesterday. abc 7 news was in the middle of all the frenzy. >> reporter: welcomed with much fanfare, the back-to-back champs touched down in oakland carrying the trophy and kevin durant clinging on to the finals mvp one. >> this is special. every year. you know what i mean?

worth it. >> i'm making it an annual thing. so look forward to it. >> reporter: in oakland, abc 7 news. >> the warriors' championship parade will be on tuesday in oakland at 11:00 a.m. the route is going to be a little shorter than last year. it starts at broadway and 11th street, turns right on 20th, then right on harrison to 19th. thght on lakeside drive and ends at the end. fans can beginning lining up as early as 6:30 in the morning. if you are planning to go to the parade, taking b.a.r.t. is probably your best bet. the agency's getting ready for a busy day on tuesday. b.a.r.t. estimates its busiest hours will be from 9:00 in the morning until 11:00, and from noon until 2:00 in the afternoon when people start leaving. onlast yr's rapab. cried mor w-highe ridership day in its history.ge

right here on abc 7. our live coverage starts at 10:00 tuesday morning. this morning, investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire that burned two homes in san mateo. abc 7 news was at the scene near san mateo high school after crews brought the fire under control. it began inside a home on north eldorado street and spread to a house behind it on north delaware street. firefighters evacuated several other homes. they feared the flames could damage other structures. >> yeah. it was kind of scary, you know, being afraid my house could have caught on fire or something like that. you know? >> officials say nobody was injured. the red cross is providing assistance for two residents who have been displaced by the fire. we still don't know this morning who is is san francisco's new mayor. the race has taken yet another turn. london breed took the lead

yesterday just 498 votes ahead of mark leno. she now has 150.13% of the vote. leno has 49.87%. he led friday by 144 votes. breed was out front on election night, but then leno gained the top spot after rank choice votes were counted. but again as of yesterday, breed is the leader. the san francisco department of of elections tweeted it is still processing provisional ballots. approximately 42,000 ballots still need to be counted. russian president vladimir putin says he'll meet with president trump whenever washington is ready. meanwhile, trash talk, tariffs and timing are just a few of the things that went down at this year's g7 summit in canada. now president trump is en route to singapore for that historic meeting with north korea's leader. i believe he landed about an hour ago. >> reporter: it was all smiles during this photo-op at the g7

summit. but this photo may have a been a more realistic look at how it went with some negotiations with president trump sitting alone on one side of the table. the president suggested welcoming russia back into the group after being cknnkiedexati >> they threw russia out. they should let russia come back in. because we should have russia at the negotiating table. co we will not stop trying to and president trump that undermining this all makes no sense at all. >> reporter: moving into tariffs. canada's prime minister denounced the president's plan to slap hefty tariffs on steel and aluminum imports on key u.s. trading partners. >> it would be with absolute certainty and firmness that we move forward with retaliatory measures on july 1st. >> reporter: the president responded on twitter while en

i've called you three times! get up the hill! we're the only house here and we need help! >> okay, ma'am. we're going to get them there. i'm telling them right now that you need help right now. okay? >> reporter: around 10:00 p.m. calls started coming in that the fire had arrived in ventura. >> we now have fire -- it is in my canyon right now. >> they need to get in the canyon right now. the fire's spotted. there are homes up here. >> reporter: residents are now dealing with the loss of electricity and cell service. >> i just got a text message from my parents on the span foothill. they're surrounded by fire. they can't get out. there's no cell coverage. the towers are down.m more ccer neighborhood all asleep and no reverse 911 call. >> very chilling. sonoma county has issued a scathing report about the readiness of emergency officials during the north bay wildfires. the report was released and

found the public warning system's technology is outdated. also because the public relies so much on alerts and warnings, their expectations exceed current practices. the emergency management program that oversees the response is underresourced and understaffed. leadership roles are not made clear, which affects communication and coordinated efforts. very few staff members who are assigned roles during a disaster have actually completed the recommended emergency training. staff at the emergency operation center, which was the central location for the fire response, lacked situational awareness impacting response coordination and planning. there were also problems communicating with external fire agencies during the fires. there are not enough trained staff members, and in some cases, they're not even aware of existing emergency response plans. as for the public information hotline, it was not properly equipped or staffed during the

fires and did not have enough non-english speakers. now each issue has a recommended solution. supervisors will vote on those recommendations tomorrow. this afternoon, the oakland a's will host north bay day, a special event to honor those affected by the fires. the a's have handed out free tickets to 3,000 north bay residents. they'll also recognize firefighters and first responders before the game. and the a's players will take the field with members of santa rosa's mark west little league. good morning, everyone. starting out with live doppler 7. we don't have as much cloud cover as we had yesterday. the marine layer is gone. the system to ot north of us wiped it out. we are starting out clear. also what's gone is the hurricane that was aletta. now it is a tropical storm but our sights now are on bud which is a thurricane within thepi ne

allowing for a pretty healthy sea breeze, again up to 30 miles an hour for half moon bay and ocean beach. sunny and warmer today, windy at the coast. hot inland monday, tuesday and wednesday. thursday and friday. if you want to head to the coast, it will be in the low 60s for you at ocean beach. 70 santa cruz. nice day here but look at that ocean temperature. all that upwelling this time of year allows for that very cold ocean temperature and temperatures right around it are chilly. as we look at our winds throughout the day today, they'll continue to ramp up by this afternoon, anywhere from 10 to 20 miles an hour. but if you are at the shoreline, point reyes, winds up to 36 miles an hour could be likely. today we'll allow for the warmth to slowly get going because by tomorrow, it is really with us. look what happens on tuesday.

the warriors celebrated the title friday night in cleveland. yesterday they brought the party home. the back-to-back nba champs returned to the town, steph curry doing a little shimmy with the larry o'brien trophy. the warriors captured the title by sweeping the cavaliers in game four, 108-85. kevin durant was named finals mvp for the second year in a row. with three titles in four years, it is one of the greatest runs in nba history. >> i don't think we all thought this was possible. we just -- went out and played the game. to trophy, three times, bring it home to the bay. special. >> it's been a long year. long, difficult season. but definitely all worth it in the end. just an amazing finish. i thought our guys played so they saved the best for last. history on the track as justify goes wire to wire to capture the triple crown. >> it's just perfect!

california's great america's opening a new single rail steel coaster this week. the amazement park called the rail blazer the first coaster of its kind on the west coast. throughout. riders straddle the rail creating a low center of gravity that amplifies every move. the ride is designed to reflect an off-road adventure and calls on the great outdoors of the ride opens thursday at 10:00 in the morning. i've always been a chicken. i don't ride roller coasters. too scary. >> i'm kind of with you on that one. good morning, everyone. starting out nice and clear, a bit on cool side.
