south along the 8th and terminate at 13th and oak street. a lot of surface streets will be closed alone. expecting about a million people there. half a million people taking b.a.r.t. they or running rush hour service tomorrow. a good idea to pre purchase the clipper card and have it reedy to go. a kidnapping in san francisco led to a fiery crash in the east bay. now one person is dead, another in critical condition. abc 7 news reporter lilian kim has the story. >> reporter: dramatic cell phone video shows officers dragging a kidnapping suspect away from his burning ve police say his car cashnd into a pole in emeryville moments earlier while trying to evade a san francisco police officer. >> the police officer, she pretty much held her calm.

she had to hold a gun on him, for whatever reason and asked for someone with a fire extinguisher. >> reporter: several people tried to help. rick mcgee injured his hand while rescuing the man. he's a retired firefighter who happened to be driving nearby. >> his legs were pinned. couldn't take his seatbelt off. i yelled for a knife, cut the seatbelt and pulled him out through the sun roof. >> reporter: the speck is in critical condition, but the female passenger died. the couple was wanted for assaulting a woman in the tenderloin before shoving her into the trunk. >> we located her avenue. she used the emergency release lever. that's how she escaped the kidnapping. >> reporter: police say she was treated at the hospital and is in fair condition.

lilian kim, abc 7 news. a fire forced people from their homes in sausalito. this erupted in a narrow alley in downtown sausalito last night. you can see the roaring flames in this video from an abc 7 news individual kbroe. the fire damaged two buildings near prince tan street and bridgeway. several people got displaced. >> there are six residential units between the second and third floor. they're not going to be able to come back in tonight due to the utilities shut off. >> one firefighter was hurt when he got a shock from burned electrical panels. he was treated and released. there's no word on the possible cause of the fire. b.a.r.t.'s police citizen review board will meet to discuss the use of force. it may include information about a deadly shooting in january. this is video from the scene after joseph mathieu shot and killed celine tindal at the west

for mass transit, cool this morning but becoming warm this afternoon. let's start down in the south bay. 60 at 8:00, 68 at 10:00. already mid 70s at lunch, hanging out in the low 80s from 1:00 to 5:00 back down to a comfortable 71 at 8:00. east bay valleys even warmer. already in the 80s at noon. our destination, the upper 80s from about 2:00 all the way through 5:00 and still about 80 at 8:00. here is a look at the north bay valleys. almost as warm as our east bay valleys. temperatures from 60 in the morning to about 77 at noon. 80s from 1:00 through 7:00. quicker cooling here, 73 degrees at 8:00. some of my colleagues may be a little cranky the next couple days because it's going to be pretty hot if you don't have air conditioning. >> unfortunately a little toasty for those of us in the east bay. >> two, maybe three days at

most. how is the commute? >> we don't have too much going on. if you are traveling out on tracy on the busy side, westbound 205 to 580 approaching the altamont pass, we have our typical stop-and-go traffic. we have a crash reported on the eastbound side of the road right around grand line. it looks like we have at least one lane blocked. i will keep an eye on that, but they should have that cleared shortly. south bay looking good so far this morning. here is 101, the northbound side slowly filling in around 880, no major blocking issues for the south bay either. we'll take a look at mass transit coming up next. clothing isn't the only way to display your warriors pride. you can become a card carrying member of dub nation. the cause that has a major smart phone

enemies take advantage of us on tran we must put the american worker first. this came after the president ruffled feathers at the g7 summit, not breaking down on stiff tariffs on aluminum and steel imports from canada and other u.s. allies. the president calling it a matter of national security. trudeau promised to fight back by slapping tariffs on american goods. >> we're polite, we're reasonable, but we also will not be pushed around. >> reporter: that move infuriated the president, who lashed out calling trudeau very dishonest and weak. then a stunning decision. the president refused to sign a traditional statement of solidarity with the g7 partners. the clash over tariffs could lead to higher prices on some goods like cars and even cans of beer. the beer institute says the industry could take a $340 million hit each year if these tariffs go into place. lve in washington, arlette

saenz, abc 7 news. a woman in michigan fears others could be at risk after one of her samsung cell phones caught fire and gutted her car. the woman asked to conceal her identity as she describes how a burning phone engulfed her nissan maximum last month. she says two of her samsung phones were in a cup holder when one of them burst into flames. >> i thought i was going to die when i saw the sparks and the fire. it happened quick. it just went up in flames. people was telling me to get away from the car. what if i would be on the highway and stuck in traffic and couldn't get out. >> samsung says engineers will examine pieces of the destroyed phones. the company is not commenting on what happened. >> warriors fans can show their support for the team before tomorrow's parade by getting special blue and gold library cards. they have warriors imagery on the front of it and only a limited number are available. you can get yours at san francisco and oakland libraries by signing up for the summer

head through the north bay valleys, mid to upper 80s with cloverdale and santa rosa getting close to 90. 72 at richmond. mid to upper 70s as you start to head into the east bay hills, oren da at 80. in the valleys, mid to upper 80s. if the house is closed all day, by the time you get home, might be the first time we turn the air conditioner on this week. a few clouds along the coast. 50 at half moon bay. look at the temperatures from the low to upper 50s. here is my accuweather seven-day forecast. going to be probably hottest tomorrow and pretty close inland wednesday, but you see some cooling hitting the coast in the bay wednesday, it will start to make its way inland. it will take until friday to make that happen. 60s along the coast, 70s and aets for dad. >> so far fairly quiet on the roads this morning. i do want to head to the south bay where we have one minor issue. reports of a brush fire around the 280 and 101 interchange.

emotional moment from last night's tony awards. drama students from stoneman douglas high school in parkland, florida, took the sage and sang "seasons of love" from the musical "rent." ♪ all about love >> their high school was the site of the valentine's day shooting that left 17 people dead. it was a surprise for their drama teacher who last night received a tony award for excellence in theater education. she and 65 of her students hid for two hours during the shooting. she kept them in the room, closed the door and all the zunts president ended up being safe. applause for all those kids on that stage. >> the girl with the bangs in that middle, got that high note -- >> she sang so well. >> there she is. going for the high note. >> it was wonderful. this was a special weekend for many victims of the north bay wildfires and the people who helped them. abc 7 news was at the oakland coliseum as the a's hosted north

commute. we are looking at stackups starting to form especially in the stack lanes for the bay bridge toll plaza. fastrak users are not slowing down. we should have 20, 25 minutes before the metering lights will flipped on. a lot of folks paying cash and having to sit in that lane until they get more booths open. southbound 101, santa rosa to petalu petaluma, 13 minutes. northbound 101, 280/680 to highway 85 looking great, coming in at just 12 minutes. we still don't know who the new mayor of san francisco will be. next at 5:00 a.m., an update
