[ cheers and applause ] >> loud cheers this morning as the presumed mayor elect of san francisco makes her first official victory speech. london breed chooses the symbolic setting, the elementary school she attended as a chill. thank you for joining us. i'm kristen sze. this highlighted her theme, anything it possible, the city presumed first african-american female mayor is making clear her top priorities. amy hollyfield is live at rosa parks elementary school where there was a crowd full of energy. >> reporter: that's right.

this felt like the speech candidates give on election night. it was very enthusiastic and well-received, and london breed spelled out her plan for the city of san francisco. she was greeted by a full gymnasium at rosa parks elementary school, could barely get the speech started because the crowd cheer and chanted her name. she thanked everyone and talked about the struggles that face san francisco. homelessness was first, saying she's creating safe injection sites and giving homeless the support they need. up next, tackled the big issue of housing. >> it is going to take a lot of work and creativity to get to a better place of building more housing. we have to make changes to our bureaucratic process that gets in the way of housing production in san francisco. i want to make sure that the next generation of san franciscoans have a real opportunity to be a part of the future of this city. i don't want what happened to me

and my friends to happen to the next generation. >> reporter: we've got a cute picture for her when she was a kindergartner here at the school. she grew up just a block away from here. she said in the speech she heard gunshots, saw drug deals, and never thought the opportunity to become mayor was possible. this was set up as a press conference, but questions at the end were difficult. it was more of a celebration atmosphere. everyone wanted to talk to her, get a picture with her. one question was asked, who succeeds her in the position as board of supervisor. she said that question is for another day. live in san francisco, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. >> amy, thank you. breed's closest competitor, mark leno, conceded yesterday although there's a few thousands votes left to count. he says he doesn't see how he could make up the difference. when the election results are certified and breed takes office, likely early july, breed

is the only female mayor among the 15 largest cities in america. right now, the mayors in all the cities are men, and the vast majority are white. new york city, los angeles, philadelphia have never had a woman mayor. in other news, it's developing news, a car crashing into a house in lafayette. sky7 showed the crush vehicle that plowed into the home on glenside drive leaving a huge gaping hole on the side of the home. according to the police department, it happened shortly after 8:00 this morning. firefighters had to extra kate the driver from the vehicle. the driver was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries. the home is being checked for structural damage. abc 7 reporter laura anthony is on scene. the car was apparently speeding and ran uphill at least 20 feet into a house. today marks one year since a gunman killed three of his coworkers at a ups facility in

san francisco. this morning, the facility located at 17th and utah held a private memorial to honor the victims. ups drivers wayne chan, mike, and vincent were kill in the shooting. two others were hurt. the shooter was also a ups driver. he turned the gun on himself. winds made it difficult for firefighters put out a fire this morning. the house is located near withers avenue and taylor boulevard near brookwood park. the fire broke out before 4:00 a.m. it was fully contained about an hour later, and no one was hurt. authorities believe the fire started in the attic. it was caused by an electrical wire that runs from a nearby pole to the house. happens today, just a few minutes california attorney general is set to make an announcement affecting thousands of students frauded by corinthian colleges.

they ran several schools in the bay area until closing them in 2015. they were sued and lost for false advertising like exaggerating job placement rates to attract low income students. the federal government forgave student debt, but they are expected to announce a $67 million settlement to provide further debt relief for affected students. the state of new york cifil suit against the trump foundation, accusing them as serving as president trump's piggy bank for his businesses, legal bills issue and presidential campaign. the president's three children are also named in the suit. they seek to dissolve the foundation and collect nearly $3 million in restitution. president trump laughed at the suit on twitter saying, he won't settle the case. now to the investigation involving michael cohen, president trump's former personal tone and so-called fixer. cohen is now searching for a new legal team to represent him in

an fbi investigation of his business dealings. abc further explains why this could be bad news for the president. >> reporter: he stood by the president's side for more than a decade as his personal lawyer. >> i'll do anything to protect mr. trump. >> reporter: is the president's former fixer going to flip? sources tell abc news michael cohen is likely to cooperate with federal prosecutors. word is, he's parting ways with his own attorneys, among the reasons, a source says concern over payment of legal fees. cohen has been under extreme pressure. the u.s. attorney for the southern district of new york is investigating his personal business dealings like faci facilitating a hush payment to stormy daniels who claimed she had an affair with president trump. they raided his office and hotel room seizing documents and a dozen phones and electronic devices. illegal experts disagreed about what he may have to offer. >> we don't know what he's got to say yet, and probably not

even to the prosecutor. relax about it and remember that micha michael's role was narrow on the business side. >> i disagree, obviously. if you have three clients, one of which is donald trump, and you with being investigated for bank fraud, wire fraud or hush payment possibly made or deaf in thely made to stormy daniel, i think the two are inextricably tied. >> reporter: cohen's not been charged with any crime, but the attorney's office, if they dig into the close relationship with president trump, sources tell abc news that special counselor mueller has questions about russian real estate investments. the pressure is mounting. by tomorrow, the legal team must finish reviewing documents seized in the raids, and what's not protected will be turned over to prosecutors and could build a criminal case against cohen. abc news, new york. this morning, the san francisco's mourning the loss of one of the few female plumbers

in the city. the 34-year-old lilana died in a horrific accident yesterday. they were repairing a leak on 28th streak when she was struck and killed by a car that rolled off the tow truck. she was an apprentice in 2012 and promoted to utility plumber. >> knew had to do it on her own, took care of his business, and she was the one doing most of the work. the guys were on top feeding her tools, and she's in there, you know, making the connections. >> police are investigating how the car broke lose from the toe truck. she leaves behind a 2-year-old daughter. police need your help releasing this surveillance video showing four suspects burglarizing a chevron gas station. it happened last thursday. you can see the footage. it's very clear. look at that, appear to take cigarettes, whatever was in the register, and other items behind

take a look at the damage from eastern pennsylvania. six people suffered minor injuries as storms hit the area overnight. many homes and businesses damaged. the national weather service sent a survey team there this morning confirming two tornados created the damage there.

iphones allowing law enforcement officials to break into the devices. they are changie ining default settings, saying this protects consumers, especially those in countries where laws restricting authorities from cracking into devices are not as restrictive as they are in the u.s. sprint's limited talk, text, and data for 15 got so much attention they ended the promotion. they are stopping the deal at 8:59 tomorrow night due to heavy demand. they have not said how many people sign up, but it's a lot. it's not sounding like a big deal, but it is.
