a good morning to you all. we're going to start with breaking news. a day of fun took a horrible turn after a rollercoaster derailed in florida. >> a rollercoaster went off the tract at the daytona beach boardwalk. firefighters had to use special equipment to reach them. >> it was chaotic as you can imagine. there were a lot of people in the area. the riders were very frightened. and the firefighters were doing a great job of trying to make sure everyone stayed calm so the rescue could go off successfully. >> a total of ten riders were rescued. six were taken to the hospital. the extent of injuries has not been released. the exact cause of the incident is still under investigation. now to the stinging report by the justice department watchdog, scolding james comey. >> the 500-page document on the handling of the hillary clinton e-mail investigation also criticized several fbi agents

for exchanging anti-trump text messages but found nobody was motivated by political bias in the runup to the 2016 presidential election. pierre thomas has the details. >> reporter: the justice department's independent watchdog handing down a searing rebuke of fbi director james comey, finding the former fbi director made serious errors in the handling of the hillary clinton e-mail investigation. the report called out the press conference clearing hillary clinton. >> we cannot afford a case that would support criminal charges. >> reporter: the inspector general found it extra ordinary and insubordinate that comey refused to tell his justice department bosses what he would say. he had usurped the authority of his bosses. he criticized clinton. >> there is evidence that they were extremely careless in their handling of highly classified information.

number of times throughout the bible. >> reporter: but dozens of christian faith leaders are speaking out, including one of the president's biggest supporters, franklin graham. >> it's terrible to see families ripped apart, and i don't support that one bit. >> reporter: the back and forth leaving many families stranded in the middle. this mother tells abc her 5-year-old daughter was taken from her for days after she illegally crossed the border, saying what is happening is inhumane. maggie rulli, abc news, new york. a new report by the inspector general is highly critical of james comey over the investigation into hillary clinton's e-mails. it found comey repeatedly broke with department protocol by making announcements about that investigation. and the report describes him as insubordinate for keeping those plans away from his bosses. current director christopher wray says he accepts the report and plans to make changes but pointed out what was not in the report.
