good morning. it's friday, so we've got that going. june 15th, coming up on 5:00. what's on tap, mike? >> cooler weather and breezy conditions. 15-mile-per-hour winds in san jose, about 10 in oakland, 31 in fairfield. here is how the daybreaks down with temperatures below average even with full-on sunshine in many neighborhoods. the coast, you may have a few more clouds than the rest of us. mid to upper 50s in most neighborhoods at 7:00. in the 50s all through out my accuweather 12 hour planner. looks nice for lunch around the bay and inland. watch out for the breezes. 71 to 76 at 4:00. that's a pretty nice afternoon to be outside doing activities. if you're heading out around 7:00, dress for mid to upper 60s. sounds like we have a potential

problem brewing. >> this is going to be a problem all morning. westbound 580 we've got a flipped big rig. sig alert in place. all lanes currently blocked before eden canyon road. i'm guessing this will be here for several hours. we still don't know about injuries. they're bringing an ambulance to thestein and calling for a heavy-duty tow truck. as far as we know, just that big rig involved in this. we haven't heard about any other vehicle. you can use dublin canyon road for an alternate just south of the interstate. we have another crash involving a big rig south of there, southbound 680 before auto mall parkway. next traffic update in about ten minutes. we are tracking this developing story out of union city. a funeral home had to be put on lockdown with grieving families stuck inside. >> five people got shot. abc 7 news reporter matt keller live at the chapel of the chimes funeral home. >> reporter: good morning. we're on the border of union city and hayward.

police appear to have wrapped up e apelf t chimesnvestigation at but they still have a lot more work to do. let's take a look at video that we had from last night. you can see what was happening here. several 911 calls came in after the shooting. union city police say they found three shooting victims to the scene that were taken to the hospital. the fourth victim was found a distance away and was taken to the hospital. a fifth victim drove to the hospital. at the time of the shooting, one service was taking place inside the chapel at the cemetery. a witness says there was a pop-up tent in the parking lot, people drinking and some even had guns. >> officers arrived and it was a very chaotic scene. they didn't know who was involved with the situation. we weren't sure if we were contacting suspects or victims or witnesses. so officers detained several people that were either at the scene or fleeing from the scene

to us. >> police say two of the victims are in critical condition. the three others are stable. police say the suspects are still on the loose and they're looking for help from the public to identify them. the motive of the shooting is still under investigation. live in union city, matt keller, abc 7 news. now, a live desk update from abc 7 morning. >> b.a.r.t. police are investigating after an apparent stabbing at the concord b.a.r.t. station. abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield has some of the overnight details. >> reporter: good morning, jessica. the station looks normal this morning. police have wrapped up their investigation here. they have left. training are running okay. here is a look at the situation last night. one victim was taken out of here on a stretcher and taken to the hospital. he was cut in the altercation. police have not said how the victim was doing. they did make an arrest. a man was taken out of the station in handcuffs.

this happened just after 11:30 last night at the concord station. trains did not stop here for about ten minutes while police dealt with the two people involved in this stabbing. they have not said the motive behind the attack or whether the two knew each other. we have messages out to b.a.r.t. officials so we can get more details for you. but just know the morning commute will not be impacted. live in concord, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. >> thank you, amy. a burglar broke into a san francisco sheriff's deputy's car and took a service weapon in pinole. the sheriff's office did not confirm details but will release more information today. we don't know if this was the deputy's personal vehicle or patrol vehicle. the sheriff's office didn't specify what kind of weapon this was. we do have a call in and we have not yet heard back. a woman accused of trying to set at least one east bay preschool on fire is under

arrest. here is a mugshot of kristina romo. these are the surveillance images. we showed you this earlier this week, showing the suspect at a safari kids preschool in union city attempting to start a fire. she is also a suspect in a preschool fire in newark. i want to show you some video that we're just getting here into our live desk. you can see a police scene where it looks like a car chase ended in a crash in san jose earlier this morning. it came to an end at the almaden and floyd area. witnesses say they saw police cruisers chasing a car and then they heard a crash. those witnesses also telling us that officers had their guns drawn at one point because the driver of one of those cars there refused to get out. he eventually did and we saw two people being treated for injuries, both of them were in handcuffs. that's what we have right now. we have a call in to sjpd. as soon as we do hear back, i'll

let you know from our live desk. back to you. someone attacked a woman who was holding her baby in san francisco. that victim is now recovering from life-threatening brain injuries and no one is in custody. this happened in millie valley at 28th and sanchez in june. kate larsen talked with the victim's best friend who was with her right before the attack. [ screaming ]. >> a mother's screams and her baby's cries caught on camera. after someone attacked her after she crossed 28th street around 6:00 in the evening. the 37-year-old mother was walking home when she got a call. >> my friend was on facetime with her sister. herister heard my friend say he hit me. >> jess is best friends with the victi. based on the ct scan doctors believe the attacker hit her on

the head with a blunt object like a hammer. >> she had severe skull fractures and pieces of her skull entered her brain. that night she had to have emergency brain surgery. >> reporter: after the mother crossed the street, the video shows a person in dark clothing carrying something, moving quickly down 28th and around the corner. ten seconds later, you can see another person running up 28th street. friends from all over the bay area spent the evening canvassing the neighborhood with flyers, looking for more evidence. >> if any neighbors have any cameras you know of -- >> the motive for the attack is unclear. they hope people in the neighborhood would remain vigilant. >> it had to have been someone out of their mind who could commit a crime like this. >> that was kate larsen reporting. sfpd says this is still an active investigation and it's looking for more video and more witnesses. you're never more than seven

minutes away from my accuweather forecast. let's start in the east bay valleys where temperatures range from 54 in pleasanton to brentwood at about 59 degrees. did you notice mt. diablo only 66. we're definitely seeing the heat subside. yesterday at this time it was about 72 up there. let's take a look elsewhere. low to mid 50s in just about all the neighborhoods. hayward the exception at 57. los gatos at 48. here is a look at the golden gate bridge. you can see a little hazy out there. not the thick cloud deck that we had yesterday. if you're out and about today, walking the dog, working in the yard, it's going to be comfortable with cooler-than-average temperatures and a breeze all day today. if you're out over the ocean or playing on the bay, the small craft advisory starts at 9:00 this morning and goes through about 9:00 this evening with the southwest winds at 15 to 25 knots. san francisco today, we have temperatures that will start in the 50s and stay there through

noon. we'll hid mid 60s in the afternoon hours and drop back down into the mid 50s this evening. for the east bayshore line, 60 at 8:00 and low 70s. that's all we eat get during the afternoon hours, down to 62 by 8:00 and our final stop will be up in the north bay, just a little warmer here and for a little longer duration. we start off cooler at 58, but we jump to 71 at noon, mid 70s from 2:00 through 6:00. then a sharp drop as the sun starts to set down to 66 by 8:00. we'll take a look at your father's daye weekend forecast coming up next. here is a look at the problem with traffic. >> 580 fully blocked before eden canyon road. a flipped semi is blocking all lanes. the folks stuck behind this on 580, at least a 25-minute delay. as far as i know, they have not started to release those vehicles. you can use dublin canyon road for an alternate.

but they didn't go into much detail overnight. only saying it would be some sort of sustainable solution. we'll have to wait and see what that actually means. a pretty interesting story coming in. >> do we need straws? do you really need them? i don't know. this is a terrible crash that happened in daytona beach, florida. what you're seeing here is a derailment of a roller coaster. six people were taken to the hospital after the roller coaster derailed last night. you can see the roller coaster car that is hanging from the track. the fire department tweeted that two riders fell about 30 feet to the ground. we don't know how badly they were injured. other riders were left dangling in the air. in total, ten people had to be rescued. remember this video from pacifica state beach? we told you about the record number of jellyfish washing on the shore. this type is helpless. that was not the case along the east coast.

reputation. the report also slams multiple fbi employees involved in the case for sending politically charged text messages. hillary clinton herself responded to the report with three words that got a lot of attention. but my e-mails. of course, the phrase "butt her e-mails" . meanwhile hillary clinton says there november will, quote, finally be the election that turns the tide against the gun lobby. the former democratic presidential candidate spoke to gun control advocates in san francisco last night. she received the courageous leadership award from the giffords law center to prevent gun violence. former arizona congresswoman gabrielle giffords also spoke briefly. she told supporters that their voice matters on election day. survivors of the parkland high school shooting also attended the event. firefighters trying to determine what sparked a fire in the oakland hills that burned a

degrees right now. looking westbound on the san mateo bridge. you can see the cloud cover moving in. we're going to have breezy spots for driving, not only this morning but during the afternoon commute. it will be gusty out on the water. so if you're taking the ferry, you may want to sit inside. it's cool this morning, but it will be mild. nothing warm to hot in our mass transit stations today. let's take a look at the east bay valleys. we start at 62 with becoming sunny conditions from 8:00 to 10:00 where we jump to 68. mid to upper 70s from noon to 6:00. about 67 at 8:00. nice evening. peninsula a little cooler, 61 at 8:00, 65 at 10:00. low to mid 70s from noon to 4:00. 68 by 8:00. let's take a look at the south bay. we've got 60 at 8:00, 67 at 10:00 with sunshine. not much warming in the afternoon hours. mid to upper 70s until you drop back to 67 at 8:00. we have pretty comfortable weather for the entire father's

day weekend forecast. i'll show you that coming up. first, we're hoping for friday light. then we were maybe hoping for ai i had to go and open my big mouth about an hour ago. we have a couple major problems. a big update to our sig alert on westbound 580. all lanes blocked for about 45 minutes. this is due to a flipped big rig just before eden canyon road. as of a few moments ago, chp saying we're down to one lane blocked. only the far left lane is blocked. that's certainly good news on our traffic maps. purple means closed. that should flip over into the red. there certainly is a backup. you can still use dublin canyon for and alternate. i say the main lanes of 580 are jammed to about 680. if you're thinking about using 680 for an alternate, do not do it. we have another sig alert southbound 680 before sheridan. we have all lanes blocked. that was a crash involving a

has arrived on the scene. that backup not looking like a lot of fun, matt. >> welcome to a frustrating friday. check it out. this is a parking lot also known as westbound 580 in pleasanton-dublin area. close to the 680 interchange. a few miles away from where this big rig overturned on 580. you can see traffic is not moving at all. this happened about 4:55 this morning. let's show you as we move across the overpass. you can see all the red lights. more vehicles stuck in traffic. a big rig overturned on westbound 580 just east of eden canyon road. that big rig weighs about 30,000 pounds. it will be quite an effort to get it out of there. all lanes blocked for about 45 minutes. the good news, only one lane is now blocked. you can see traffic has not begun to flow here in the

pleasanton area. we're several miles away. it's going to take a while before you get this all cleared out. my advice for anybody out there who does not want to sit in traffic like this is just to avoid the area altogether. the lawyers for the two defendants in the ghost ship fire, the trial set to begin in july. the lawyers are discussing plea deals with the district attorney's office. each man faces 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter for the december 2016 fire. 35 people recovering after being exposed to toxic fumes at a san jose swim club. firefighters hosed people down with water to wash off the chemical residue. investigators say a pool maintenance worker mixed two chemicals together. they're the wrong ones to mix. it produced a cloud of fumes that made several people

cantalo cantaloup. these are all in fruit salads containing melon. the melon was sold at walmart, sprouts, costco or whole foods. the cdc says at least 60 people have gotten sick nationwide. major issues on the roads this morning. here is a live look at 580 around the 680 interchange in pleasanton. that stopped traffic is the westbound side of the road, all approaching the flipped big rig near eden canyon road. the semi on its side. we have quite a bit of debris. we were down to just the far left lane blocked -- excuse me -- the right lane. now the two right lanes blocked once again. still not sure about injuries. this is sort of an interesting part of this. a piece of debris from that truck went flying onto the b.a.r.t. tracks. it sounds like that won't be a huge deal. we did talk to b.a.r.t. and they say no damage was done to the tracks. trains are moving through without any problems.
