went through. >> reporter: abc 7 news. >> we reached out to several groups that pose the right to law die. we did not get a response. a grass fire that broke out in concord yesterday afternoon quickly grew to 25 acres because of high winds. it took fire crews more than two hours to fully contain the flames burning along the road between willow pass court oond driftwood drive. our walnut creek camera captured black smoke rising beyond the trees. the chp shut down traffic while firefighters gain control. those winds are responsible for knocking down trees. take a look at this one tweeted these photos to warn ri residents.

we have some cotton ball clouds here over san jose. more temperatures for you, 50s and 60s right now. napa 60. low 60s through fair field and concord. even livermore already climbing up to 67 degrees. winds are coming from the south. it's a bit of a different pattern instead of northwest flow that we see. as they come from the south and wind slopes downhill from the santa cruz mountains it will dry and warm. you'll get clearing a bit faster in the south bay and also in the east bay. in fact, our forecast animation shows some clouds thinning out in the 10:00 hour. then you notice by this evening and afternoon fill in from the coast, fromhe southwest and tomorrow morning we'll wake up to the low clouds again. highs will range from upper 50s to near 80 degrees. be breezy but not as breezy as yesterday. san francisco 64. mid-60s for the north beach

lot of people as the votes were being counted. i'm woerndering what it was lik for you. >> it's agonizing. the votes have been counted and i'm excited about moving forward and getting the job done for all san franciscons. the energy out feels so different. people are excited about the future. >> let's talk about once you hit the grounds running, your priorities in first 100 days. >> my priorities are some of the things i talked about throughout the campaign trial. i want to make sure we remove the tent encampments. i've been in conversation with a number of people who have places and rooms available. i want to make sure the budget gets past and we hire more police officers. i want to make sure that muni is running a lot better. there's a number of things that we'll need to do to get the city on the right track.

i'm gong to hit ting to hit the running and hopefully see amaze things happen within those first 100 days. >> of course you'll need cooperation from the board of supervisors and during this hard fought campaign tfrs really fakture efa -- it was really a fakturactured b. how do you get through that? >> we went through campaigns that are divisive. they lead to some channels and when i was elected, re-elected board president after my re-election to the supervisor seat we worked so well together last year with the goal. my goal is let's work together and i truly believe that we have a number of members of the board of supervisors who really care about france and getting the job done and we will work together to do that. >> one of the things you have to do is appoint someone to fill your district five seat that

covers hays valley western edition, some of those neighborhoods. what are the characteristics that you're looking for. >> i'm looking for someone who really cares about the city. someone who cares about the community. someone who understands there are challenges with district five that still need to be addressed. one who will work with people despite differences. i've had a number of challenges with constituencies but i still work with them regardless of those challenges for the purpose of taking care of the district. >> your election is historic. you'll be the first black woman to run the city. still talk a bit about being a trail blazer.

>> it feels incredible. what i've seen is young people, kids in particular are inspired. young girl who is say they want to be supervisor or mayor. something i never even thought of when i was their age. that's what's exciting about what happened here. electing a woman to be mayor. that's pretty amazing. i think san francisco is a great city and people are excited about that. it's important to remember because i clearly outline i'm prepared to deal with these challenges that we know exist around homelessness, housing public safe and things that matter to san francisco.

some serious news out of russia. moscow police are investigating a taxicab crash that sent eight people to the hospital including two mexican world cup fans. that cab crashed into pedestrians along red square. the driver saying he fell asleep at the wheel and accidental hit the gas. the use of vehicles as weapons have been a security concern. police in indiana are investigating a shooting that's killed the brother of a sacramento kings player. roger randolph was shot and killed early yesterday morning outside a bar about 60 miles from indianapolis. investigators don't know what led up to the shooting but they
