75 to 85 bay and inland at 4:00. >> taking a look outside. good conditions at this hour if you're making your way from san rafael towards southern marin, traffic is very light. this is past the freitas parkway exit. everybody moving nicely for a 15 to 20-minute drive into san francisco. taking a look at the richmond-san rafael bridge toll plaza, these are the cash paying folks on the right-hand side. these are getting quite the jump start for those that have to sit around and pay cash. it's about an eight-minute drive across the san rafael span into stlal san rafael. otherwise we're looking good with the nasty nimitz not looking bad this morning as you make your way through hayward towards fremont. otherwise you're at the limit there as well.

guys. >> breaking news from the abc 7 live desk. breaking news from our live desk. coco the gorilla has died. we learned this morning she actually passed away on tuesday in her sleep at the age of 46. coco was known for her extraordinary mastery of sign language. what you probably did not know is that coco was born at the san francisco zoo. she then moved to the santa cruz mountains eight years later along with the gorilla foundation. she was featured in multiple documents and appeared on the cover of national geographic twice. she was an ambassador for all gorillas and an icon for interspecies communication and empathy. her sign language skills were incredible. >> the gorilla foundation says coco shared a special bond with robin williams. >> this is so cool. the two met for a video shoot in 2001. coco's handler said at the time she hadn't smiled in six months since her lifelong partner

passed away. williams made her smile. the two joked and wrestled, got into a tickling fight. coco expressed sadness after handlers explained that williams died in 2014. >> i love that video. an amazing rescue overnight in the santa cruz mountains after a vehicle careened off a cliff and got caught in a tree. >> abc 7 news reporter matt keller is off highway 17 with the details of the rescue. good morning, matt. >> good morning natasha and reggie. what an intense scene here. a car went off the road, 30 feet down a cliff and a driver was very lucky to be alive. check out the video and you can see why. this is when the chp responded to the crime at locust and aldercroft road last night. firefighters say this was a very technical rescue. they had to strap the car to the tree before they were able to remove the driver using the jaws of life.

they pld him all the way up the cliff in a basket. amazingly he only had moderate injuries. >> in essence, that tree is the only thing that saved his life. had that tree not been there, that vehicle would have been so far down the embankment that it would have been difficult to find, if not impossible. >> reporter: the road was closed for a few hours. the chp is investigating the driver for suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol. live in the santa cruz mountains, matt keller, abc 7 news. happening today, the house will vote on two bills focused on immigration. both preventing the separation of young children from parents. one crafted by house speaker paul ryan and moderates, the other by hard right republicans. neither has secured the 218 votes needed the pass. this comes after president trump signed an order to stop separating families who crossed into the u.s. illegally. 75 days after he started enforcing that policy and since then more than 2,700 families have been separated.

late last night health and human services said it's still seeking guidance on how to reunite children already separated from their parents. demonstrations are still happening over the trump administration's immigration policies. last night hundreds showed up in san rafael. their message was simple, families belong tol. >> we told him in a minimal sens and my 4 kbrrd daughter replied, that just is mean. >> if i had to escape violence and terror and come here and hope someone would welcome me with open arms and not rip my children out of my arms. >> east bay congressman barbara lee will head to the border this weekend. she said the executive signed by the president solves little. in contra costa county a community forum in bay point over growing concerns of toxic soil. experts will be on hand to answer questions and give an update. it centers around allegations that potentially radioactive

soil from hunter's point naval shipyard in san francisco was dumped at keller canyon landfill in pittsburg. the community forum is tonight at 6:30 at the ambrose community center on willow pass road in bay point. someone attacked a mom holding her mom in noe valley. this surveillance video shows the victim crossing 28th and sanchez. moments later she got hit in the head with a bluchbt object. he's now recovering from life-threatening brain injuries. her baby was not hurt. the attacker is still on the run. sfpd will update the community on the incident and give an overall safety plan tonight in the gym at the upper noe rec center. cupertino city council has put the brakes on a head tax for apple. council members voted to put the matter off for a year. the decision comes weeks after seattle repealed a similar plan

area. abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield is live at the san francisco zoo. that is where coco was born back in the year 1941. hi, amy. >> reporter: hi, jessica. not quite that far back. but this is where she was born. this is where it started. she was 46 years old, born here at the san francisco zoo 46 years ago. coco had a special relationship with another celebrity here in the bay area, robin williams. those two met for a video shoot in 2001, and they had a special bond. she was very somber after her handlers told her of williams' death. coco was known for her amazing ability to learn sign language. she was featured in several documents and twice on the cover of "national geographic." he was also part of a project at stanford university. the western lowland gorilla died in her sleep in the santa cruz mountains on tuesday.

the headline there "welcome to america." the facebook campaign to help reunite undocumented immigrant parents separated from their children has now raised nearly $16 million. three of fok's earliest employees started that campaign on sunday. for info on the debate you can go to our website, abc7news.com. i want to take you back to the scene of our breaking news in oakland. this is a truck fire at the port of oakland. sky 7 is above the scene right now. we have conflicting reports on whether this was a o container fire or a truck fire. you can see it is a truck fire. looks like it kind of flipped over there and they're putting water on what appears to be the cabin of the truck. looks like it could have been towing a container or perhaps it's just the bed of the truck, the back of the truck there. you can see some tires that they're putting water on and trying to hose things off. this is a fast improvement

through next wednesday. one more check from our live desk of the breaking news that we're tracking in oakland. a truck fire at the port of oakland. this is sky 7, a look from sky 7 at what's happening there. i want to call attention here to the back of the truck where you can really see a little bit of snow coming from that back of the truck. firefighters seem to have a handle on this fire. earlier this morning we saw a huge plume of smoke coming from this truck. we don't see any flames or that huge plume of smoke anymore. you see it smoldering in the back of the truck. there are tires nearby which has made it confusing. but we do believe this was a truck that perhaps crashed into this area and went up in flames. firefighters still on scene. as soon as we get more information, we'll pass that along on our website, abc7news.com. b.a.r.t. and muni riders will soon see a lot more police at the civic center station in
