upper 50s. 60s at the coast today. look at this. already 76 to near 90 at noon in our inland valleys. and then by 4:00 we're in the upper 90s there, low 80s around the bay and 60s at the coast. still a little warm this evening. 87 inland to 75 around the bay. at the coast we'll be around 57 degrees. we've got poor air quality, a possibility of heat illness and high fe danger all coming up next. here is sue. we'll take a look at the golden gate bridge where it's pretty nice out there. look at the skies starting to lighten up. four lanes in the southbound and two lanes in the northbound direction for your friday morning commute. we'll take a look elsewhere as we move around to walnut creek. this is southbound 680. moving briskly, taillights headed in the southbound direction past north main and onto the intersection. walnut creek to oakland looking at about 12 minutes. not bad at all. a little slowing out of tracy.

we'll chelk drive times and your mass transit options, this spare the air day in just a few minutes. breaking news in san francisco's mission district. a shooting has left one person dead. >> the investigation is >> the investigation is happening at harrison and 24th. abc 7 news amy hollyfield is live in the area. >> reporter: i found out from investigators the two victims are male. plenty of police officers still here. they're still actively investigating this case. crime tape still blocking off harrison at 24th street. they heard about the shooting at 2:30 this morning, not from a 911 call but the city's shot spotter activation system. sensors let them know a gun had been fired. they arrived to find two men had been shot, one died here at the scene. the other man was taken to the hospital with life threaten injuries. police have not said anything about a possible motive or any arrests at this time. they also don't know at this point how long they will out

we learned overnight democratic senators are asking for a meeting to get answers from the trump administration over reports of immigrant children abuse in virginia. the state's governor has also ordered an investigation after some children said they were beaten while handcuffed and locked up for long periods in solitary confinement. >> today president trump will give remarks on immigration. he's going to focus on families that had loved ones killed by illegal immigrants. >> locally interfaith leaders gathered at grace cathedral for a prayer vigil. hundreds protesting the immigrant separation at the border. >> in the east bay protesters >> in the east bay protesters were a little more vocal. >> anger, criticism at drive. >> family together is always better. >> they're calling themselves members of the courage campaign, sending korj to the 2300

month that equipment owned and operated by pg&e sparked 12 of the fires. >> it's encouraging for the people who were after facted by those fires. but if you're in an area where the fire is the most devastating and they still haven't made a decision, it makes you wonder which way they're going to go. >> state officials have yet to make a determination of pg&e's role in several of the most destructive fires. san francisco police are encouraging anyone with surveillance video to contact them after a mom carrying a baby was attacked in noe valley. this happened three weeks ago. so far police have noor rests. last night officials held a public safety meeting to address public concern. the attack happened on june 3rd just after 6:00 p.m. surveillance video shows the mom crossing 28th street on sanchez. after she walks out of frame, you can hear her screaming. seconds later, her baby is crying.

spotter activation that happened just after 2:30 this morning. anyone with information urged to call sfpd's anonymous tip line. did they wake you up? five earthquakes shook eastern contra costa county. >> the largest was a 3.1 at 12:41 near oakley. then a magnitude 2.8 hit five minutes later in the same area. there was also a 2.2, 2.0 and 1.9. no reports of any damage or injuries. on to the latest now on the immigration crisis at the bor r border. >> an asylum seeker from guatemala and her 7-year-old son were reunited at baltimore international airport in maryland early this morning. the justice department agreed to release the young boy after his mother sued in federal court. they were separated at the u.s. border. the mother and son plan to travel to texas where they're going to live while their asylum claim is decided. altogether, 500 of more than 2300 children separated from their families at the border have been reunited since may.

it's unclear how many of those 500 children are still being detained with their families. 23andme will provide dna testing kids to help reunite families separated at the border. they got involved after being approached by peninsula congresswoman jackie speier. she says the next step is to reach out to federal officials for direction on how to move forward with the testing. by now you've probably seen this jacket that first lady melania trump wore while she was visiting one of the centers where children are being held at the border. it reads, i really don't care, do you. abc asked why she wore that and the replay was it's just a jacket. president trump tweeted that the jacket refers to the fake news media. cheryl jennings will be traveling to the area. you can watch abc7news.com as cheryl goes beyond the headlines to bring you the story of the crisis at the border.

near record high temperatures in the mid 80s in tahoe today all the way through wednesday. a source close to the ghost ship fire case tells our i-team that prosecutors offered defendant derrick al men nah a deal. according to our source, he would have received a prison sentence of 18 years with the possibility of parole in ten years in exchange for a guilty plea. the trial for al men nah and his co-defendant max harris is scheduled to start july 16. they're both facing 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter connected to the deadly warehouse fire. san francisco political and religious leaders are protesting the move to strip glide memorial church of its pastors. ♪ we shall over come today >> hundreds of people were at
