at the coast, 74 to 87. let's turn it over to sue to see what's going on there. a nice stream of traffic because of friday light so far. the drive time along into san francisco, just 30 minutes. let's check in at the bay bridge toll plaza, metering lights were turned on at 5:27 this morning. those car poolers are getting by with any delay. but it's about a 12-minute delay behind the toll plaza at the end of the line to get to on the span. we did have reports of a stall in the span in the left lane near tower number one. so just heads up there. bridge crews are -- they're usually pretty efficient getting those out of there. we'll check back in a couple minutes. breaking news in san francisco's mission district this morning. a shooting left one person dead. >> the investigation is on right

now at harrison and 24th. that's where we find abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield. >> reporter: good morning, natasha. you can see the crime tape is still here, still up at harrison and 24th. look at this video that we just took. something captured officers attention outside the crime tape, over on 24th street. they focused on this spot for a while and carried something away from here in a bag. you can see they're still actively investigating this case. they did tell me the two victims found here are men. one died here at the scene. the other man was taken to the hospital and he has life-threatening injuries. we talked to a man who worked in the area. he was riding his bike through here. he stopped dead in his tracks. he was just shocked and upset to hear what happened. >> especially since you see the corners and stuff -- coroners and stuff, crime scene shut

>> nearly 100 people showed up to the walnut creek protest. no counter protesters were present. a group of 12 local volunteers will travel to texas today so they can deliver clothing and other items they've collected for migrant families. abc 7 news was in san mateo when members of the group "i want my mommy" organized the donations. the volunteers started collecting clothes and cash just a few days ago. >> in a very small way we're feeling that at least something is happening. >> bay area residents are also donating bond money to free people from detention centers. so far the fund-raising page has raised more than $18 million. turning to something a lot of fun this morning. i have a minnie mouse doll that sits on my desk. don't ask any questions. just go with it. any any case, she went on quite the trip. >> this trip was documented all over twitter. >> here she is, waiting for her

we're back at 6:16. san francisco police are encouraging anyone with surveillance video to please call them after a mom carrying a baby was attacked in noe valley nearly three weeks ago. so far police have made no arrests. last night police held a public safety meeting to address the public's concern. the attack happened on june 3rd just after 6:00 p.m. the surveillance video from a nest cam shows the mother crossing 28th street on sanchez. after she walks out of frame -- you hear that? that's the mom screaming and that is the baby crying. someone appears to run up the hill after the attack. >> we're still trying to get down to was this a fall, was

and on at millbrae avenue. drive times, headed from highway 4 into the maze and through the bay bridge, there you go. >> thank you, sue. investigators plan to go through the rubble of a building that went up in flames this morning. >> they are treating this fire as suspicious. abc 7 news matt keller is near the scene at san carlos street. good morning, matt. >> reporter: good morning, natasha and reggie. now that we have sunlight you can see the damage done. you can see right through the front window. it's amazing these flames didn't spread to the building next door. firefighters got the first call at about 2:20 on west san carlo street near sunol. the big concern, homes next door and on the other side, a big apartment complex under construction. firefighters called for two alarms. >> when i pulled up, there was probably 30-foot flames above the building. it was called a defensive fire right away. we're in the going to commit our people to a building like this that's already had fires in it. that's why we went defensive

with the large caliber lines. >> reporter: firefighters say they responded to at least one fire at this building before. fire cause investigators are expected out here at about 8:00 this morning. live in san jose, matt keller, abc 7 news. did they wake you up? five earthquakes shook eastern contra costa county. >> the largest was a 3.1, then a magnitude 2.8 hit five minutes later in the same area. no report of any damage or injury. 6:33. on to the latest on the immigration crisis at the border. >> an asylum seeker from guatemala and her 7-year-old son were reunited at bwi airport in maryland early this morning. the justice department agreed to release the young boy after his mother sued in federal court. they were separated at the u.s. border. the mother and son plan to travel to texas where they're going to live while their asylum case is being decided.

altogether 500 of more than 2,300 childre separated from their families at the u.s./mexico border have been reunited since may. it's unclear how many of those 500 children are still being detained with their families. mountain view-based 23andme will provide dna testing kits to help reunite families separated at the border. they got involved after being approached by peninsula congresswoman jackie speier. she says the next step is to reach out to federal officials for direction on how to move forward with testing. by now, you've likely seen this, the jacket first lady melania trump wore while leaving to visit a center where children are being held. the back of it reads "i really don't care. do you" abc news asked why s would wear that and the spokes person said it's just a jacket. president trump tweeted that it

we have watched as investigators canvas the area gathering stuff and bagging it up as they go, hoping it could be evidence in this case that could lead them to the killer. two men were found shot here, one died at the scene. the other was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. one woman out walking her dog this morning was upset to come across this crime scene. >> i'm 80. i was born here. i have never seen san francisco like this, and it's really a closer shot. that's unfortunate. i'm really sorry that one of them died. >> reporter: police heard about the shooting at 2:30 this morning not from a 911 call, but from the city's shot spotter information system. sewn sores let them know a gun had been fired. police haven't said anything about a possible motive or any arrests. they also don't know how long they'll be out here. i've asked them a couple of times. they say they're just not sure at this point.
