bit cooler, low to upper 50s by 7:00. by noon stay in the 50s at the coast. we may get to 60, 61 in the afternoon hours but back in the 50s by 4:00, 57 by 7:00. now, the bay and inland will be warming up a little bit. 71 around the bay at noon to 77 inland. so that's a little bit warmer. by 4:0076 to 82 our spread and very comfortable evening on the way with low 70s around 7:00. let's find out what's going on with that morning commute. hi, sue. >> good morning. we have checking out bay bridge and the richmond san rafael bridge right now for you. here we go, richmond san rafael, traffic flowing nicely spot toll plaza. you've got an eight-minute drive from richmond to san rafael. we did have reports of a stall in lane number 12. bridge crews are pretty efficient about getting them out of there quickly. your drive from upper corridor from hercules into san francisco still 26 minutes. that's looking pretty good. overall green is great. there's a little bit of slow

traffic approaching bay bridge by the maze and slow out of the central valley for just under an hour drive already this morning. >> all right. thank you so much, sue. we do want to start with this issue in san jose. firefighters had to put out this rv fire. no one was inside at the time but you can see it was engulfed. this is at capital drive in on hillcap avenue. they worked quickly to get that out. no word on the cause a. crews worked on a fire in east bay. >> a fast moving grass fire got pretty close to homes a few hours ago. we are here in the crossings development of concord. take a look at videos, flames lighting up the night sky. the contra costa county fire department said the fire pro out around 3:30 this morning. it is near fallbrook road not

far from treat boulevard. firefighters were able to get a jump on it. they put it out as quickly as possible. it was about five acres. this is an area that that seen, we are told, fires before. it is full of dry brush. it is full of dry weeds. so because of that, the fire was able to spread pretty quickly. firefighters we're told got a handle on it. they got it extinguished. arson investigators are on scene. the cause of the fire remains unknown. live in concord, cornell barnard, abc 7 news. a live update. >> from abc 7 mornings. mandatory evacuations in lake county as pawnee fire continues to burn. 1500 people are out of their homes now. >> here is what we know this morning. the fire has burned more than 10,000 acres. it is only 5% contained. 22 homes and buildings have been damaged so far and destroyed. some good news, more resources could be on the way soon. today the county board of supervisors will vote on an

emergency declaration. we know more firefighters are headed to the area. last night officials updated residents at the moose lodge. one woman says she already knows what she will see when she's allowed to return home. her husband went back after evacuating saturday. >> he left his insulin pen in the refrigerator and he went back to get it, and there was no home. it was gone. >> that's hard to hear. officials say the fire is burning towards a more rural area at this point. >> lake point plays arrested this man. he's accused of looting homes in the area of the loaded fire. police say he had a loaded semiautomatic gun and several bags of marp. they stopped him as he drove through an evacuated neighborhood. officers say he had no identification and did not live in the area. on abc12.com and the app you can find information on the fire zone and breaking news. new developments following water rescue at the berkeley

arena. the suspected driver is arrested for attempted murder. officers were called to the area by a restaurant on sunday night. that's where witnesses saw a car drive into the water. strangers helped rescue the cummins. police say the driver, 19-year-old gregory polk, purposefully drove into the water following a fight with his girlfriend. he's due in court tomorrow. >> repairs at a splash park. the water park closed last week after four kids got sick. they found a broken light but said chlorine was up to code. they are not confirming whether illnesses are related t they will open after it passes inspection. love it or hate it, you will decide whether we keep the controversial gas tax in november. >> the gas tax collected, more than enough signatures.

out in millbrae getting reaction from drivers. good morning, jessica. >> reporter: good morning, natasha and matt. yes, drivers i into to this morning seemed to like the idea they could pay less. as you said the effort to repeal the gas tax heads to the ballot box this fall. organizers of the effort turned in far more signatures than required to get the initiative on the ballot. that is according to the secretary of state. the plan to roll back the tax and fees is a key component in the state republican party strategy to win some competitive legislative and congressional seats in the midterm election and with the legislation approved more than a year ago we saw taxes on gasoline go up by about $0.12 per gallon, vehicle registration rose $25. this new effort would repeal tax hikes and require voter approval for increases in the future. >> i think it's good. gas prices are crazy. it's getting ridiculous.

means mild in san francisco to a little warm in inland neighborhoods. if you're exercising just watch out for that strong sunshine. on the bay today it you're out playing it's going to be a little bit less chaotic than yesterday. no small craft advisory. east bay valley 62 this morning at 8:00. 70 at 10:00. almost 80 at noon. we'll definitely be in the mid-80s by 2:00 through 5:00 and down to a comfortable 70 by 8:00. look at all this sunshine across the north bay. temperatures jumping from 53 at 8:00 to about 7 at noon. hanging out around 80 from 1:00 to 5:00 and down quickly to 63 at 8:00. our last stop will be peninsula. temperatures a little bit cooler here or more comfortable, if you will. 60 at 8:00, near 70 at noon with temperatures in the 70s from 1:00 to 4:00 and down to a cool 61. grab a coat if you're heading out this evening. we do have possible 100s coming up in the accuweather forecast. i'll see you with that in a second. here is sue. >> to the san mateo bridge, take a look at hayward to foster

city along the causeway and over high-rise photographic flowing nicely. it's about a 15-minute drive from 880 to 101. beautiful look at the south bay, the sky lighting up and traffic is obviously very light. this is highway 87 past center. can you get an idea where we're looking at. it continues to be very light this morning. we'll take a quick look at mass transit options. 27 trains on time. don't forget we've got twin peeks tunnel closed for repairs for two months, bus bridges in place and slowing through that area. ace train number one continues to be on time. >> great. sue, thank you. 5:09 now. investigators are still searching for a shooter who killed a father while he was camping in a tent with a his youngrs inside. now we're learning that's not the first shooting at that campground. 35-year-old tristan beaudette while his two daughters inside

all right. here is a look at what's going to happen today. temperatures are going to climb about 3 to 5 degrees getting us back closer to average compared to yesterday. but nothing like the 90s and potentially 100 degree highs we have coming in the accuweather seven-day forecast. i'll see you in a few minutes with that. >> thanks, mike. two north bay men shared an experience under horrific circumstances at a nazi concentration camp.

>> now seven decades later they officially met for the first time. an abc 7 news reporter carolyn tyler was there. >> reporter: the last time these two men were in the same vicinity, one was 19, the other 20. the year was 1945. it was at dachau, nazi concentration camp in germany. nick holt said there he was a number not a name, wearing this badge assigned to factory work. >> i weighed about 80 pounds. thank god i have hope, still i hope in my heart. >> at least 30,000 prisoners died at dachau but hope was finally realized in the form of american soldiers. henry was among those who liberated the camp on april 29th, 1945. that day is something the 92-year-old veteran known as stew still does not like to talk

company's work with border protection. >> more than 650 employees learned agency using salesforce products for activities. they asked to reexamine the relationship with cbp and speak out against its prasz. salesforce spokesperson said they are not working with cbp regarding separating families at the border. federal judge has thrown out lawsuits over global warming and rising sea levels. san francisco and oakland sued chevron, exxon, bp, conocophillips. they wanted to hold them responsible for climate change but they said it went too far. yesterday's ruling knocks out the two most prominent ones. a pair of police dogs doing incredible work. this dog is jada, she sniffed out $10 million of marijuana, 15 pounds. she made the bust when a driver

low- to mid-90s from cloverdale north. that does include around clear lake where the fire is. 71 in berkeley to 78 in fremont. richmond and oakland 72. our warmest temperatures out around antioch and brentwood low- to mid-90s there. the rest of our east bay in low to upper 80s. look at extensive cloud deck tonight, all that area in gray and temperatures in low to upper 50s. check out accuweather forecast i put together for you. tomorrow we drop down a little bit because of the slower sunshine. a slight bump up thursday. we turn the heat on for friday and especially saturday. 70 at the coast, 90s around the bay, hundreds inland and then we'll drop down sunday and monday. a little more comfort those two days. let's find out what's going on outside with your commute. hi, sue. >> good morning, going to the golden gate bridge where traffic is flowing nicely in the southbound direction. you've got four lanes heading to san francisco from marin county, a little foggy over the wall as you can see from the picture. it's not affecting your drive at

this point. problems just reported. this could be a nasty one, too. it's a motorcycle down, apparently splitting lanes when a car didn't see it. so now the accident is blocking both lanes of westbound 37 near mare island. red sensors starting to stack up rapidly. for now richmond, san rafael bridge until they get this updated and cleared out of there. once again west 37 near mare island an accident involving a motorcycle blocking both of those lanes. >> thank you, sue. a new scheme aimed at mandarin speaker across the country has hit some residents in san francisco big time. one person lost nearly $3 million. san francisco district attorney george gaston calls it chinese embassy phone scam. callers from overseas use software to master a number to appear similar to the chinese embassy. targets get a call with automated message in mandarin scaring them into thinking they have committed financial crimes. scammers demand their targets wire money to clear the record.

east bay neighborhood overnight. >> abc news reporter barnard with the latest. >> home owners breathing a sigh of relief after a fire got pretty close to their homes. we're at the crossings development in concord. take a look at some of these flames. they lit up the nice sky for sure. contra costa county fire officials say the fire broke out around 3:30 this morning on a ridge in open space off fallbrook road near treat boulevard. luckily firefighters did not take any chances. they jumped on this one. they knocked it down, containing it to about one acre. now, i have to tell you, like most of the bay area, this area is full of dry weeds, dry brush, and certainly did not make the firefighting effort any easier. the cause of the fire remains unknown. fire investigators will to be -- arson investigators will be looking into this one.

live in concord, cornell barnard, abc 7 news. an abc 7 news live desk update. tracking this closely. more resources could be coming in the fight against the pawnee fire. pmore than 10,000 acres in lake county. today the lake county board of supervisors will vote on an emergency declaration. mandatory evacuations in effect for entire spring valley community right now. so far the fire has destroyed 22 homes and buildings. for many of the evacuees staying at the red cross shelter the sheriff delivered good news. >> the bulk of the evacuation behind us. the fire burning in a direction where it's not very populated at all. >> my house is okay, they say. whatever that means. i'm just beginning to think of the whole enormity of everything. >> at last check the fire is only 5% contained. officials expected to release another update and we'll bring it as soon as we get it. >> pawnee fire burning in the center of lake county. take a look at the map that

shows the burn area. north of highway 20 and clear lake oaks borders eastern valley of reservoir. a strike team from government offices help lake county firefighters put out a fire. alameda county fire department shared photos on instagram. flames broke out in a building next to the hotel while crews on a rest period from fighting pawnee fire. firefighters put out the flames. it's unclear how the fire started. developing news this morning. president trump standing by his suggestion immigrants crossing the border illegally should be denied due process. an outrage continues to grow over the separation of children from their parents. the president told supporters he sees the uproar as political advantage for republicas. however, a new poll shows his approval rating slipped to 41% from 45% the week before. >> i don't want judges. i want i.c.e. and border patrol agents. that's what i want. we want to tell people, i'm sorry, you're coming intlly. we don't want you in the

he currently serves as senator feinstein's director. he'll move into breed's administration after the november election. in a statement breed says his intellect, leadership skills is what the city needs. san francisco has to wait another year equipped with tasers. according to chronicle the board of supervisors voted to cut $2 million in funding for devices. supervisors say they need a comprehensive understanding for the cost to allocate more money for tasers. earlier this month san francisco voters reject add ballot measure that would have given police officers a wider range of circumstances to use tasers than currently under a policy passed in march. city of oakland addressing racial bias concern after someone called police about a suspicious person in the neighborhood. that person was an african-american firefighter performing mandatory fire inspections in the open hills. he was in full uniform and his fire truck was parked nearby. the city sent out this notice in advance of the inspection. some oakland firefighters say the incident raises concerns
