pedic . hit and run driver critical critically injuries a pedicab driver pulling a family. >> police just wrap up the investigation at the scene a short time ago. >> kate larsen is live at the intersection. they still haven't found the driver, right? >> reporter: that's right. the driver is believed to be in a light colored sedan. the pedicab community is worried about one of their drivers and an entire family of passengers. sfpd worked late into the night after a car hit this pedicab. >> the problem is hit and run. it can happen to anybody.

>> reporter: a pedicab operator knows the driver that was hit. >> he is a wonderful guy, a father, an inventor an entrepreneur. >> reporter: this woman is the co-owner of the pedicab company. he has been working for her for six years and hit his head in the crash. the suspect car hit the 4:00 in the afternoon. the mother is in serious condition. her husband is okay and their two young children have nonlife-threatening injuries. >> it is a crazy intersection, tough to cross even with the lights. >> reporter: the unusual intersection is problematic. >> it makes things more chaotic, tourist season. >> reporter: and police are hoping that there is more

i we worked with pg&e to save energy because wenie. wanted to help the school. they would put these signs on the door to let the teacher know you didn't cut off the light. the teachers, they would call us the energy patrol. so they would be like, here they come, turn off your lights! those three young ladies were teaching the whole school about energy efficiency. we actually saved $50,000. and that's just one school, two semesters, three girls. together, we're building a better california.
