hundreds of homes. it started along ignacio valley road near cal road, those that lived in the neighborhood watched the flames sweep toward their home. >> toward the top of the sky. they could not have been bigger. they were all the way over and the whole house was smoke. >> reporter: police evacuated hundreds of people. >> what do you do? what can you do? you feel helpless. you see all the fire crews, everyone around is like, wow. we have heroes around us. >> reporter: had helicopters and air tankers fought from the sky as firefighters bathsed -- battled the four-alarm fire on ground. >> we were able to protect all the structures. >> the flames were all the way to the back fence, thank god for the fire department, they did gra job, and they saved my home and i'm so thank. >> reporter: they thought about the north bay fire victims.

fire 60% contained and in morgan hill, they have one that burned nine acres that is small. and another one in bethel island burned two cars and two acres. >> the firefighters will be on high alert this weekend no question. >> we have the latest red flag warnings. >> just quickly, the conditions. temperatures down to 73, and relative humidity is way up to 43% and the wind is calm. let's look at the red flag warnings. lake and solano counties, are under red flag warnings. wind could gust up in the hills up to 40 miles an hour at times and relative humidity will be low, about 10-20%. right now, we are looking at calm wind across most of the bay area, look at the rapid heat up that we will see tomorrow in the inland hot spots.
